  1. If you think of yourself as a Me, mine, ego-self, then consciousness is identified as a finite, individual with a karma and then rebirth will eventually happen to continue on with experience. If liberated, then consciousness doesn't identify with the body/mind finite self at death and has awakened and is no longer identified with the body/mind. It no longer needs to be reborn to experience and karma/vasanas for that individual dissolves.
  2. https://www.shiningworld.com/free-will-and-the-isvara-metaprogram/ Long and informative explanation (Advaita Vedanta).
  3. I'm simplifying.... actually, samskaras and vasanas are tendencies/desires/fears and are stored in something called the "causal body" a store house from all the individuals past lives. Not all of them together are choosen for the next life. Also, remember, memory is not a part of this, true memory is wiped out. Ie. Someone may have a deep fear of something, but not know why (samskara) or a propensity to over-eat, smoke or drink (vasanas).
  4. Grooves = Samskaras (mental impressions/psychological imprints) and vasanas = Desires which influence behaviour of a person. These create our individual characters and strongly influences our thoughts and actions.
  5. No, if liberation hasn't happened, then once the gross body dies, then the subtle body (and mental impressions/mind) goes on to another loka (plane or realm of existence). In Advaita Vedanta there is reincarnation for those that aren't Self-realized and identify with the mind/ego/body. When the person is reborn, the new physical body is accompanied by the old mind with the impressions or “grooves” from previous lives, but stripped of actual past life memories. My two cents.
  6. @Endangered-EGO No problem ?. The beginning part of the first video he explains his own addiction and struggles that he had with it.
  7. Hi, I'm sorry you are suffering. Both videos are Paul Hedderman he was addicted to hard drugs and alcohol. He quit and has talked on AA topics for many, many years. The first video is for the addict in you. He also is a non-dualist and has a unique way of discussing it and an interesting personality. The second video is one on awakening. He has a plethora of free videos on both topics on YouTube. He also has a website: Zenbitchslap.
  8. I regret nothing. All things have lead to this moment, therefore have had there place.
  9. As with any of my posts, take what you like and leave the rest.
  10. I did get the Moderna booster. My husband is unvaccinated per his choice. The week of Christmas he got Covid, he spread it to my unvaccinated adult son, my son's unvaccinated GF and she gave it to her vaccinated, but no booster shot dad! I didn't get it. My husband no longer is taking Covid lightly (his own words), since he was horribly ill from it.
  11. Yeah, most aren't lucky enough to have it for free, but In my area, if your low income there are places to go that will charge on a sliding scale, if you don't have insurance. If your earnings are low enough your service could be only a few dollars. With my insurance, if I were to use my insurance for that service I would have to pay a $30 copay for every visit. I think it's too much!
  12. You didn't hide or edit your comment, so after 16 hours I replied. Btw, you didn't have my edited reply- "Merry Christmas to you too! Ya know ppl here don't HAVE TO be nice to you. You get what you give....in this case it's this- ?" Remember, anyone can say any hurtful thing and just say, "well, obviously, I was upset". Think before you speak (type).
  13. Merry Christmas to you too! Ya know ppl here don't HAVE TO be nice to you. You get what you give....in this case it's this- ?
  14. Literally Yup
  15. This thread has 11 pages of you saying over and over how much you suck, how no women wants you, how you are unlovable by women, how worthless you are. I think I've presented a good solution to your seemingly hopeless problem...accept it. Stop fighting it. Focus your life on other things like- friends and family. Unless, you don't think it's so hopeless after all?
  16. Accepting that the desire can't be fulfilled will help with that. When you catch yourself thinking about the desire redirect your attention elsewhere. That's how ppl (myself included) stop things like smoking, drinking, etc. Redirect the attention elsewhere, don't ruminate on the desire and over time it dissipates.
  17. Oh ok, well this is a spiritual/self-help forum. Why are you here? Look, your a nice guy, that's why ppl try to help you, but you don't want to help yourself. I get that you've been dealt a problem that's tough to overcome, but guess what, you're not the only one with problems. When ppl have problems they typically try to fix them. If they can't be fixed, then all that you can do is accept the situation. If your at that stage, if not, keep trying. If you've given up and your going to accept that you won't be able to get a partner, then let go of the judgment surrounding it or else it's not true acceptance. No more judging yourself as sucking/worthless. Your just accepting that for reasons beyond your control having a GF is not going to happen for you. Your desire for a GF is so strong that it's making you miserable. If you're positivity convinced that that will never happen (as you say you are), then let go of that desire. Accept its not possible for you. I've already said my real opinion about your situation, but it's not my opinion that matters...it's yours and if your done and want peace, then accept your situation as it is, all else is madness!
  18. Do you realized how much dumb shit ppl do when loaded?? I do, binge drinker here?‍♀️. Sober 6 months now. I won't drink again. Problem with substances you use as a "tool" is that you don't know your going to get addicted, until your addicted, then its too late. My mother was a drunk.?
  19. I'll take your word for it. I don't watch his videos much ?, so I'm going off what I've seen. This really is no big deal to me so. So. Let's agree to disagree.
  20. I didn't say that. I wish you good luck in finding what you want, without having to do any work on yourself. That's what I meant.
  21. @Something Funny @LSD-Rumi I suppose because if a shirt looks wrinkled, then I think it typically should be ironed. If you don't think so, then that's what you think. I don't think it gives a hippie vibe. To me it gives a lazy vibe, because it looks like a dress shirt.
