  1. Pretty straightforward question. What is meant when people talk about the soul? How do you characterize or define the soul?
  2. @Mihael Keehl that sound does sound similar to what I've experienced. Yes, it's like a fascinating deep metallic drone sound that is ever morphing, and is related to the attention you put on it, so there is this feedback loop between attention and sound, as if you are listening to your own listening. Gravity is very flooring, lol.
  3. I don't know anything about this guy, but he seems a bit fake to me on first glance. He sounds like he's acting. Anyways, I hope he doesn't die and helps people wake up.
  4. Your notes about movement are really interesting, especially regarding balance. I've had some similar experiences - really dialing in track stands on my bike, and learning to run on train tracks with my eyes closed without falling off. Hope your yoga teacher didn't get more frustrated seeing you waltz up there and get it on your first try! Did you tell him you were tripping? Also, I think I might know what you mean by that "LSD sound" - pretty trippy stuff. Can you describe it? @Mihael Keehl
  5. Yes, this should be absolutely fine. I wouldn't recommend doing it 3 out of every 4 days of the year or something crazy like that, but it will be 100% safe as a one-off.
  6. Excellent Medium piece written up yesterday by Barack Obama: How to Make this Moment the Turning Point for Real Change I hope all US residents on this forum take the time to read his post. tl;dr -
  7. I'm sure it works, it's just that it might be attenuated or slowed down a bit by that ROA, because it doesn't pass directly through the liver before hitting the blood that goes to your brain, so it could take longer for the propionyl group to get cleaved off. 1p-LSD itself is meant to be inert, the theory is that it gets metabolized down to LSD in your body, which is of course very active. There's really no point fussing too much about ROA for LSD, just swallow it. It's nice that it's so easy that way.
  8. The most succinct and meta way I can put it is that: Psychedelics work by de-conditioning and amplifying the experience of reality. De-conditioning means that the categories we place things in become softened. The boundaries become apparent as mental constructs, and reality can become more fluid and whole/holistic. The weakening of boundaries can include the sense of "I" aka the ego, so that the self-centred perspective melts off or dissolves, temporarily. At the same time as all of this, or perhaps because of it, experience becomes amplified. All of the channels through which we experience reality - the senses, mind, imagination, memory - are turned up way past 12, and they become intertwined. Having the normal clutter of categorization, measuring, judging, being "I", turned down, and the experience of it all turned way up lends itself to becoming very present in the experience of being.
  9. I actually usually stick it between my gum and my top lip and leave it there until it hits, and then swallow. But there's no huge advantage to doing it that way, and most people find that feeling annoying, so you're better off just swallowing it in the first place. If you're taking one of the LSD produgs (1p-LSD, 1a-LSD/ALD-52, 1b-LSD, or 1cP-LSD but *not* ETH-LAD and AL-LSD) you're definitely better off swallowing it, because at least in theory, the prodrug needs to pass through the gut to be metabolized down to the LSD molecule. Gumming it bypasses the gut, so it can take longer to hit, or even become less effective if it doesn't get broken down in your bloodstream. Same goes with plugging, you wouldn't want to plug the prodrugs as it would also bypass the gut->liver, and become less effective.
  10. I've only ever done it by eating the raw cactus, and have never thrown up! I've thrown up a couple of times from other psychedelics so I'm not immune, but somehow managed to get cactus down. It's definitely challenging. I've never tried brewing it, maybe there's something to eating it that actually makes it easier? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'm a big fan of mescaline cactus, it's been too long..
  11. I agree. This piece in particular doesn't leave a lot to the imagination.
  12. Yes, well said @Flyboy I have to say, I hope people don't get the wrong idea that 5-MeO-DMT is the be-all-end-all or something. It's just a very precise tool for the job, that's all. If all you ever had access to was LSD or mushrooms, that would be perfectly infinitely useful. And if you were averse to using psychedelics, or didn't have access to them, that doesn't need to be a hindrance either. They're just really good tools.
  13. I've tried dozens of different psychedelics, and 5-MeO-DMT is definitely the most direct psychedelic tool for spiritual awakening. It's still useless for that job in the wrong context though, so don't expect it to deliver on demand. It's not a mechanical response that a doctor could prescribe. It's just that, compared to other psychedelics, 5-MeO-DMT does away with all the window-dressing and goes straight to the heart of the matter when you let it.
  14. @Bazooka Jesus Yeah should be fine, I've never tried it but obviously Leo knows what he's doing. Just FYI, if you do the conversion properly, it won't be vinegar anymore, because all of the acetic acid will have reacted with the freebase to produce the salt. If you do it right you're left with only 5-MeO-DMT acetate and water.
  15. @Bazooka Jesus it does last longer when you plug it (vs. snorting it), but the comeup will be slower, it will peak a little lower (for the dose) and dissipate more slowly. The "area under the curve" will be about the same, if you know what I mean. So plugging lasts longer *and* is more gentle - the two aren't mutually exclusive You may still want to convert the freebase to the salt using vinegar when you plug it, the vinegar should help it dissolve and be more easily absorbed, as well as be more gentle on your rectum. Just don't overshoot, use the minimum amount of vinegar required to get it to dissolve. If you do overshoot, it's not a big deal, it's just vinegar.
  16. I would try converting the freebase to the acetate salt using vinegar, it's not so hard to do when considering the hassle and potential legal trouble you're considering with a border run. Just add the least amount of vinegar possible in order to get it dissolved, should be fine. If you use too much vinegar it will burn a bit, if you use too little it will burn a bit, so try to get it just right by adding a tiny drop at a time and stirring a lot. Don't do your whole batch at once, try just converting a single dose at first.
  17. You probably aren't vaporizing it correctly and are either loosing a lot of the vapours to the air, or are actually combusting the 5-MeO-DMT and degrading it into something else (probably nasty and unhealthy). OTOH some people do just have a mad natural tolerance, and you could be one of those people. But I'd look closely at your vape technique first. You might want to try another ROA (plugging or snorting) as those are more reliable ways to get the magic molecule into your system.
  18. @Enizeo you were just tripping maaannnn... if you had stopped paying attention to your breathing, your autonomic breathing would have kicked in at some point, at least once your body became a bit low on oxygen.
  19. I assume you mean structural change? Yes, hopefully this is just the first step, and that this is an actual watershed moment in US history.
  20. All 4 cops are now getting charged in George Floyd's murder, so that might partially answers your question. Protests are definitely not the only route to change, but they can be a big part of it. Especially when the other routes aren't working.
  21. @Bodigger I'm not going to pretend to speak for "the people", as I'm not a US citizen, but I think one of the big demands should be that police be held to a much higher level of accountability. In particular, when police commit murder, or are accomplices to murder (as in the Floyd situation) they need to be brought to justice swiftly. This repeated brutally violent behaviour by police forces, particularly towards black men, can not be tolerated. So, people who want to see this change need to march now, and then vote in the city and state elections for the officials who campaign on making these changes. More broadly, while voter turnout in the young and progressive demographic is pretty weak for presidential elections, it's even more abysmal in the smaller elections at the state and civic level, where, ironically, some of the biggest opportunities for real change lie. So the people need to get out and vote in these elections to have their voices heard. People tend to think it's good enough to show up once every 4 years to vote for president, and then tune out and complain until the next presidential election.
  22. About fucking time. It's definitely a tricky area, but in areas of blatant misuse of the platform like this (and his early fact-checked tweet about mail in ballots) I 100% support it. I hope Facebook follows suit.
