  1. In some ways its true because humans are continuously destroying the environment which is a great gift that we take for granted. So the gift is ruining the gift. I acknowledge that whatever I say is not a fact but my belief. (Your ex must have been just as crazy as me. :-D) We have ruined it not realizing that ultimately our own selfish acts will end up destroying us. What do you call this kind of destruction. It's self destruction. We as humans are unaware of what we do and that's why we do what we do.
  2. No it's not bad. Its a bonus. But how do you develop a good ego and at the same time try to transcend it through non-duality. It's like a paradox, confusing and contradictory. So I wanted to know how you go about it in practice ??
  3. It can't be proved whether God created this universe, time, space, humans. It is we who have created this concept. I do believe in God because I feel to do so however I don't believe that he created everything to satisfy himself just like a painter creates a masterpiece, not to complete himself but to create his art and express himself. This universe is God's gift, a masterpiece, a creation and in everything that you see around you God is manifested in some way, except we humans who are cunning enough to manipulate that manifestation in us. Yeah, we kinda ruined the gift. So the answer is, an artist is already complete and doesn't need his art to complete himself.
  4. Do you speak Russian ? Like do you know the language. Which all languages do you speak ?
  5. What are the release dates for the new course on subconscious mind. ?
  6. Couldn't have said it better. Took the words right out of my mouth. To the Op I really don't see the connection between isolation and spirituality. It could be perhaps just another mask that some people need to hide their oddity or anxiety by putting it under the guise of spirituality. However I also understand the case of those who have a genuine dislike for the world because of all the mental traps and competition and they prefer to be left alone. They need to be sympathized with.. Imo meditation is for those who have got a clearer understanding of things as a beginner and not for those who are confused in the head, as Mike pointed out, because meditation can confuse them even more. For such folks, therapy is most important. It's too sad to see that some folks sidetrack the benefits of therapy in lieu of meditation, thus remaining confused, stuck, dogmatic for the rest of their lives. Their deeper inner issues remain unresolved forever.
  7. In scientific studies they have found that the heart is connected electrically to the human brain. The heart sends out electrical signals many times stronger than the brain. In traditional Christianity, the heart is considered to be the seat of the soul. I forgot the quote from the bible. But it says to connect to the Father and the Holy Ghost through the holy spirit that resides within the heart. In chakras, the heart chakra is green representing love that comes from the soul. Heart is like a mini intellect and the perceiver of environmental stimuli as there are many receptors on the heart. The Egyptians were clever people. They had this sacred knowledge that the heart is the center of the self and the seat of the soul and the spirit. Therefore they always took out all other organs but left the heart in the deceased body because that was the origin of the Ka and the Ba and that must be left undisturbed even after death. Thus the heart is the central chakra, the seat of the intellect and the soul from where the " I " originates and connects to the rest of the body. Now start eating some heart healthy food, give that beating heart a little rest from loud music, and the next time you hear it beating for someone/something, learn to listen to it, its not just beating, it's communicating through beats !!
  8. I agree with every bit what Nahm says here. When it comes to enlightenment as an eastern philosophy, there's no point in conceptualizing. The point lies in actually getting it done, ego transcendence and giving yourself into the experience of oneness and infinity wholeheartedly without doubt.
  9. It's quite normal to expect this. It does not show any correlation between the two because it could even imply that all men have the same level of strong desire, the only difference being that powerful men get easy access to it as compared to others and since they are powerful they don't have to worry about the consequences of their promiscuous behavior. It also shows complacency and carelessness in behavior when a person attains fame and power. The other thing it possibly implies is the routine abuse of power that often powerful people engage in and is not very uncommon. Most powerful people tend to abuse or misuse their power to get benefits or gains, in this case more romantic encounters and sexual opportunities.
  10. How and when do/did you connect to your Russian roots ? Any example ?
  11. There is also a link between madness and creativity. They didn't coin the term ' mad genius ' for nothing.
  12. @ArasH Considering the current work pressures and societal expectations and rules, it's a little difficult. But maybe you can find some time away from your regular work to follow your passion. I can't suggest you to quit your job whether you like your job or not, because it's your survival. There are many people out there like you and me who wish to live like children, forget all their worries and become one with nature and God and live how God wanted us to live as freespirits but we get entangled into the demands, pressures and rigid life structures created by society. The only thing you can do is allow minimal social conditioning in your life and do as much as from your heart. Be a rebel. If you have enough money, don't care what people think and do what you like. Maybe the social conditioning has been so rigorous and deep, that sometimes we just stop thinking out of the social paradigm box. It's like the bird's wings are already cut before it could learn to fly. So start journaling to know what your inner mind/soul/heart wants. Its desires might be buried or hidden because of social pressures. Let them out on a piece of paper. At least you would know what you really want. Once you are aware of what your heart wants and you have expressed it freely, honestly without inhibition, then you could try and find ways to incorporate into your career plan or select a career that is aligned to it. You might have to sacrifice financial gains, or maybe you could find something that not only serves your inner desire or purpose but also makes money simultaneously. This is rare but still possible. Be positive but seek what you want. There is no point in living a life that you don't find a joy in.....you live only once after all..
  13. Informing Actualized.org team about facing intermittent server issues since past 5 days. Today it was severe and very frequent. Kindly resolve. Thank You
  14. As long as you're living a good life, its okay even if you don't do anything for this world. Take care of yourself and that would be enough. When you are done with your own actualization, you might want to give some of your time to social causes in the world. But obviously there's no compulsion. You first live for yourself and then for the world.
  15. 21 is pretty early for you to decide about your entire life. Focus on your life and career. Maybe a few years down the line, you could accidentally get hitched and then who knows how your plans change, possibly for the better. Hang on.....it's not too far. I think you should look around a little bit. You may want to explore that side of you because later when you turn 35 or older, you don't wish to regret your decisions so its better to go out and explore it for yourself. Its not a good sign that you're not socializing at all at this age. Don't get offended but this is the age at which people have enough time to date, go out, hang out with friends, socialize and have relationships. Sometimes having a relationship with someone is not so much about a deal, contract or a plan of life, it is also a way of exploring yourself as a person. You get to know what you like/dislike in the other person. So don't think a relationship is like an extension of life. Its not a big deal. If things don't work out, you can always break. But you learn important lessons about you, the world, society, life etc. I think you are in a hormonal sorta stage where you are not naturally feeling to go for it. It happens generally during pre-puberty stages. A lot of people feel that way. I felt that way too at 15, like relationships are not for me, only career career career....but it smoothed out later and I got out of that rigid mental box. Don't take very direct decisions at a very young age. Because they are generally influenced by innocent thinking rather than experience, maturity and internal growth. You may not be at that stage yet. I was hella naive before starting out and mingling with people. But in the past two years, there was a rapid intellectual growth in me after doing massive insight work, watching everything on TV, YouTube, socializing, thinking about life, society, world, people and working outside changed a lot for me. I became a different person. I lost some of my introvert-ness, although I still have some of it. But I learned a hella lot. Its like you have to go on a world tour and then return back to know about life. You can't sit in a room, away from all practical experiences and learn about life. Life is not to be learnt in a beaker in a laboratory but in the field outside. So push yourself a bit and you'll get big returns. Right now everything looks unnecessary, limited or even impossible to you, but once you go out, get going, you will realize that are just too many opportunities to learn and grow. Let your life come full circle. Go out.
  16. @Spacious Yep that one.
  17. Is there anything like a healthy Ego. And if it does exist or is beneficial for growth in life, then how should someone define it. What will be the characteristics of a healthy Ego ? And how should one cultivate it ?
  18. Forgiveness is a little difficult to understand. Most people think of it as a favor to others. But it's actually a favor to self. The more you're attached to your previous experiences, the more they come back to hurt you over and over. This creates a vicious cycle of self pity where a traumatic or bad incident happens in life and every time you ruminate on it, it gets refreshed and thus the wound inside is not allowed to heal. It erupts again and again and again and comes back like a dark shadow to keep hurting you and follow you wherever you go. You never truly become free of it. Liken forgiveness to freedom. The more you forgive and forget, the more freedom you derive from it. Your mind becomes calm and relaxed and the hurting stops. This clears up your mind and lets you to move on to other better things in life which hitherto remained unattended due to the mind's constant involvement in the trauma-hurt-why only me-victimization-unforgiveness-hurt-memory-selfpity-hurt-constant rumination-hurt again cycle. Thus you're not able to move on or achieve anything in life because you remain stuck in previous experiences all the time. Where is the mind free to think of anything else ?? The incident that occurred is already bad enough. Remembering it and being unable to let go makes it even worse. I suffered a lot because of being trapped in the cycle mentioned above in this answer. I finally forgave my emotional abuser and let go and now I am much better. Certain things that I used to let go and forgive. Mindfulness meditation Focusing and living in the present moment. The NOW is powerful. Spending time with my neighbor's pets. (I don't keep any pets because of the bad memories. ) Realization of the fact that there is much more pain in this world, more than my pain and together we are survivors. Knowing I am subconsciously with them helps. Blocking thoughts of previous memories and engaging in temporary distractions. Metta meditation - every morning I wake up , I close my eyes and say to myself that I am giving lots of love to this planet all humans and animals. I meditate and deeply feel this love going to them and healing their trouble. Listening to soothing music. This thought/Insight helped me tremendously - whatever happened is not my fault. I choose to move on despite the injustice happening to me because I am full of grace and I'm strong. It's his/her/their bad KARMA and not mine. I forgive him/her/them because I am higher in my spiritual pursuit and I realize that bad things happen things happen to good people in this pursuit even though it's not their fault. I am good and my good karma will always lead me to a better place. Self responsibility - Realization of the fact that from now on your life is in your hands. To move on is the smarter option than staying stuck. Independence and freedom. - Practicing Emotional freedom....EFT emotional freedom techniques. Understanding that having emotional freedom right now in this moment is the key to being independent of this world and its good/bad experiences and living like a truly free bird. I hope this helps.
  19. Yeah, you might want to watch the conversation between Satissh Kumar and Richard Dawkins. Dawkins acting a little arrogant and dogmatic not ready to understand the poetic conceptualization of the older guy. If you want to know really how deep this dogma goes and how it affects true research in the science community you need to read the book Biology of Belief by Bruce Lipton. My all time favorite.
  20. Mindfulness is more about the mind than physical sensations. The experience you're having has been attributed to distraction therapy in medical case studies where a patient is distracted with TV or ambient music or concentration methods before being given painful injections and they found that patients reported less pain . Hypnosis has been used many times during surgeries to make them painless without the use of anaesthetics. During mindfulness, the mind is less attached and hence the sensation is not felt deeply. However the real benefit of mindfulness actually lies in taming of the monkey mind and reducing its transgressions. Mindfulness also helps to stay in the moment and increases self awareness.
  21. Have you tried this ?? I am gonna try this and will report to you within a week. Might be difficult at first but I will give a try.
  22. It could be called consciousness. In my opinion I would call it conscious contemplation or deep contemplation which sometimes takes you to the deeper end of stuff where it can get a little suffocating. I prefer staying in the middle however. Excessive contemplation can sometimes drive people nuts. Not too much, not too little, right in the middle, just a scoop of thoughtfulness creates the right recipe.
  23. @Prabhaker Thank you my friend, I wish to be Philosopher cum meditator. Best of both worlds.
