How are you so damn sure. What if the mind never existed. What if it were just the body pretending to be the mind(or mind pretending to be the body). Hoooo, Spooky.. -

Osho is trying to put an eastern spin on western logic. He is trying to explain the western mindset of endlessly pursuing materialistic goals and the resulting frustration caused by not achieving them. That brings misery. But setting goals for essential things in life doesn't seem to be a bad idea. I try to make peace with both concepts. The best way is to find a middle ground. Everything is not black and white but grey, at least imo. So I'd try mixing materialism and spiritualism and balance both. taking anything to the extreme eventually and inadvertently turns detrimental. -

oh yeah, that's a great suggestion. I'll try this. I had always wanted to watch the entire length of his lecture. -

I love his philosophical lectures but they're hard to sit through because they're too long, -

We can't have empirical evidence about anything. If I say you are a nice guy, I have no empirical evidence for it because I haven't met you, but It'd be my perception, not really my projection.
-
Well it could even be that I'm admiring and appreciating someone's qualities perceived by me. How would you know for sure that is projection.
-
My projection. You're mistaken. I didn't start it that way. I was talking about how she presents herself in such a graceful and polite way. There was no mention about money in the original post. It's another thing that it was later twisted into something else by others. And I'm not dreaming about marrying a rich guy, I don't need it but at the same time I don't vilify those who do. I'm happy with my choices.
-
To each his own. I am nobody to judge someone's dating preferences. And I never pressure them to explain or justify their preferences. That's what projecting people do, not me.

Lol

When? Yeah poverty is a problem. If it wasn't a problem we wouldn't be putting so much effort in trying to get rid of it. There is nothing shallow in looking for someone i think as successful. Although I'm not looking for someone like that but I'm just saying there is no problem even if someone does. It's their choice. My marriage preferences are mine and I have no problem whether rich or poor. But I said there is nothing wrong in liking someone for being successful.
-
Hmmm. You surely have a point there.
-
That's ok. People have opinions. No need to get all fired up.
-
Well not likely. I'd prefer someone caring and understanding and that will have nothing to do with rich or poor. But having money, either me or him is just a bonus.
-
I am discussing her qualities. Every person out there is in the media.
-
That's fine. Let's not focus on the negative aspects. That way we always tend to be cynical and judgmental about everything.
-
That's a nice one.
-
Yeah It's a political figure. But It's not a political discussion. There was nothing about political issues discussed here. And there's no gossip. This is a flow of ideas and people can have different perspectives on a subject. There is no point in suffocating a discussion.

When I was thinking of her, I wasn't really thinking of the model, money, gold-digger sort of stuff. Let's keep the past to the past. I was focusing on her positive traits and that is being able to be positive, warm and polite wherever she went which is a quality you rarely see in loudmouthed or cynical media people. So It was refreshing to see someone being so graceful and elegant. And that's the reason I felt she was a role model and not for marrying a rich guy. That's probably the aspect I overlooked

Why?

Good for you. Lucky guy
