Can someone explain in short what the major types of yoga are? It seems there are many different brenches and I have no clue what to search for and what they offer. Until now I have been doing some kundalini yoga exercises from youtube. -

Check out the literature written by Walter Russel. He has some very interesting ideas, like the universe being completely electric. Here is a video about some of his work: -

If things go right the future will keep on advancing and our understanding of the world will become more and more complete. Some people say we can expect a technological singularity where knowledge and technology will change the world so drastically we will not be able to keep up with the change. I think we already see that many people (especially older people) are slowly falling outside the technological era. The world has drastically changed since the industrial revolution and information exchange is at unbelievable rates (will reach around 2.7 Zetabytes till 2020!). We practically created as much information in the 21th centuary as in entire human existence, maybe even more. Big data will eventually reveal many underlying mechanics of all interactions of things. Machine learning will become more and more precise in predicting the future, weather, population growth, basically everything you can imagine. The question is, what will all this knowledge do with the human psychology? If you can predict your entire life, the mystical experience of new experiences fades slowly away. Reality becomes more and more solid and imagination which is our biggest driving force shrinks. What would you do if you know what most of your entire life would look like? The surprise element is what makes me really wonder but if all becomes so obvious then what is there to dream about? The other side of the coin would be a life where you know nothing, not even instincts and would die pretty quickly due to survival reasons. The middle of ignorance or not-knowing and knowing everything is the golden zone where you have enough ability to stay alive, build a life with some certainty but can always be amazed with new things. What do you guys think? Will all this new knowledge about psychological/physical patterns or cycles make the world a much better palace or is ignorance really bliss? I like knowledge more than anyone I know but also see the major downsides people don't really grasp yet. The world is a weird place haha..

@JustASimpleBuggler Follow your feelings and rational mind and you will come to the right conclusion. Obsession can fade away with time so if it's really problematic, give it time. Just be mindful in your thoughts and actions.

Don't try to push it away, try to accept it. If you find your behavior negative to the extent that it is hurting you, try to keep it in the realm of thought. It might take practice and make you a little void at first but tackling such problems can really improve your body/mind control in the long run.

I would really like to hear everyones opinion about this and are curious how different people from the world view the current state of being. The world is slowly waking up which is great but it also feels the biggest task is still ahead of us. I'm still kind of sceptical where things are going if I look at global warming, religious radicalism, refugee crisis, political movements and some economic flaws (e.g. Venuzuela's hyperinflation). This is not intented to be pessimistic but more like reviewing things that possibly can be improved when thinking and working together. If there is any place where we can start an active movement to better the major problems in the world, then it would be this forum! What do you guys think? What are the major problems you see locally, nationally, personally and globally?

Folks this post is not about worrying.. It's about the problems you walk into most of the time and could be re-thought (with many perspectives) to advance or at least minimize their impact. Current world views tell us a lot about how you see the world and what can be improved in your opinion

@Captain Flint That's not true I once meditated for 4 hours in nature with that posture. Eventually you will get confortable with any sensation even ants walking into your nose ?

@Ray Thanks! It's still not complete yet but those are some pics I like alot. How did you guys make your image board, online app or photoshop?

Sometimes it feels like that I have the same conversation over and over again. It's not the content but the way the protocol of talking/emotions/ego is set-up. Beforehand I already know my intentions or the ones other people are trying to satisfy and its like walking to the same psychological construct over and over again. The thing is the psychology is really obvious and most people act like hoards since they all inherently want to fit in a certain group. Behaviour gets coppied and on top of that most people try to find their "unique" personality within that frame. I like talking to people and learn a lot of new insights but eventually I always walk against a wall of knowing the person well that the new stuff that I didnt know declines. It like writing a character and eventually you completed the most important aspects and everything else are fine details. I don't really know how to put it but I wonder if you guys understand what i mean. How do you handle this? I would love to know how you guys look at this.

@Tronds World Yes that's sort of what I experience, but it is mainly with people I have to be due to study/duties/attendance/ect. With good friends and family I don't experience it that much, maybe because I can relate better to them? @aclokay I know abstracting things won't make things better, but I'm really conscious of what peoples intentions are and they are most of the time good and search for happiness. Talking to a few persons is okay because I don't only care about myself and are interested what the have to say. What bothers me is that long days can be really exhaustive and that it might feel more like people pleasing than genuinely participating in their chat.

I have a great fascination for the old egyptian mythology, architecture and their history in general. We still don't know much about this old acient civilization and they left some gigantic pyramids. I would like to collect any information about their history here to get a better picture of who they were and if there is a deeper knowledge or secret. Things that would be interesting: The creation of the pyramids and their use. Spirituality in acient egypt. I know they used some sacraments like the lotus flower to get in altered states. Mythology (gods and other figures) Cool theories Anything you might want to add

Don't know if there is any topic about this but I'm curious what peoples experiences are.

I agree with @Toby , a persons world view is so complex there is more than just one simple reason of rejection.

If we have no free will we maybe should rethink the criminal justice system. People that are unfortunate to become who they are now can be seen as the real victims. Any normal human being will never chose to become like they are because it is emptiness, lack of love and connection that causes it. Jail is a place where people can think a lot about their life which is good when they are really lost, but making them outcasts only makes it worse. It's a weird thing to have empathy for someone who commits a crime, but if you look closer there is much emptiness and frustration. What do you guys think? Could you ever forgive someone who offended the worst crime you could imagine? What if you where that person would you forgive yourself? -
It's just a topic on a forum man relax Nothing to lose but gain insight about different perspectives around the world. If you don't like it, don't read it

@Maorice Actually no because I don't know what problems people face and by getting to know the roots I can get a better sense to contribute. Who knows maybe some comes up with an completely new idea to tackle someone problem. This is the place where people from all nations with different cultures meet and would be ideal for these kind of things. After all everything in the dualistic world is an illusion and just entertainment to get you amused. Feelings, thoughts, problems all created by your mind like identity. Atleast try to challenge the major illusions/problems..
-
@Maorice Even if it's speculation it's good to get an indication of what other people think. I also ask what the larger problems are that people face locally, nationally or globally. There is value because these are the things that if worked on can change the world significantly.

There are periods where I get alot of deja vu's and other periods almost none. Have you guys ever tried to meditate on a deja vu and see how far the memory goes? I once visualised what was going to come and it did! But could this be some weird glitch and has anyone experiences themselves? -
The past and future that I will experience in "this body". Nobody will experience it from my point of view, unless they are me. Whether that's a good or bad thing is just perspective :).

Wow the third picture looks what I experienced in a n,n-DMT experience! I was looking at a candle in a pretty dark room and through the light I travelled to this place. It was like a web streching out of it and on the other end where three entities looking at the earth through a whirlpool... Almost as if they where the watchers through light. It's so weird because it was another place but also more like a overlay of where we are exactly now. Nice story btw! -
I'm not in a relationship but I think meaning is what makes it work. If your doing it purely for sex than it won't last that long. A relation is build being able to help each other in life. The feeling of being able to support each other and experiencing this journey of life. I often have the feeling many people see relations as a commodity and as long as people act like that they wont find a deeper connection. Live for each other and not only because it makes your life better.
