@Mikael89 how is it better that you say it what make most sense? ”conscious after dead makes most sense” you just said because I said that I haven’t thought it through so now by that logic you haven’t thought it through either. -

@Mikael89 how do you know you didn’t get it wrong and you are the one needing to Contemplate more? besides I need more than “you are wrong” to know that I am wrong everybody can say that with out actually being right. also contemplation isn’t the best tool to figure out if something is true you need something like the scientific method for that. and you said “No, there's no afterlife for the ego, and you don't keep the memories and stuff” how is that different from saying there is only one life and that’s it? -

@Rilles in a way I can be because I wasn’t always born I was non existence and when I die I return to non existence. Life is short and you only got one so don’t waste it. -

pretty sure no you got only 1 life and that's it -
reading or theory and practice.

I don’t take notes but I practice recalling the ideas without looking I find it less time consuming.

@CreamCat I think it’s more important how you learn rather than iq for example those who does this: 1 study in isolation 2 focus with high intensity 3 does active recall 4 practice testing 5 embrace boredom so they avoid attention residue are more likely to get good results than those who 1 study with distractions 2 are on the internet all day so you get a lot of attention residue 3 study in a room full of people 4 use highlight as review rather than active recall 5 study with low intensity
-
Not familiar with multiple intelligences or single intelligence factor never heard it before so I can’t say anything about that yet. also cal Newport’s work is still evidence based.
-
@CreamCat according to cal newport how fast you learn an abstract concept depends on your intensity of focus and thats something you can control. http://calnewport.com/blog/2014/04/08/work-accomplished-time-spent-x-intensity/

@clouffy And does he have evidence to support hes claim? if not its not a valid claim Cal newports concepts is scientific evidence-based. Also grit is not hard work grit is the skill to finish what you started even if it take you 2 years and not quitting because of some obstacle. Grit has shown to be more predictive than iq if i recall correctly. Also what make you have job satisfaction is not iq but is the question are you good or not at something rarer and valuable check out cal newports so good they can't ignore you where he goes in detail on scientific evidence based on how people end of loving what they do. To get good is just a matter of deliberate practice not iq.
-
iq is not that important feynmans iq was 125 yet he achived a lot of great things equal to those who had higer iq. Also a study shows that grit is more important than iq which is the skill to have passion and perseverance. Also iq doesn't limit what you can do what's more important is how you do things for example focus with low intensity while learning will get you low grades while focus with high intensity will most likely get you high grades. And last cal newport argues Deep work is the new iq this is what made albert einstein albert einstein not hes iq but hes skill to focus intensely on cognitive demanding task that push hes abilities to the limit.

"I feel happier and relieved after crying." Thats why its important to cry its a bad idea to hide your feelings.

I think to many try to escape suffering and not realizing they have to suffer if they want to grow. (how ever some suffering may be unnecessary)

Here is a great hack you can do to gain more confidence: Do something you thought was impossible for you or accomplish something you cannot yet do. i am not 100% sure if this is true but I just had a direct experience of this today.

Do it everyday at the same time and track your progress at least for 66 days thats what i do. You can use loss aversion to hold you accountable. Tell someone that you owe them a specific amount of money if you fail. You should be twice as motivated to continue according to science.
