  1. @Spiral Try buying a book like "The Big Leap" by Gay Hendricks. In there he has many questions that you can contemplate that will definitely help you get a little closer to your life purpose. Basically, I think that you can derive parts of your life purpose through contemplating but you will need some guidance in the form of specialized questions that you can find in books/ Leo's Life purpose course.
  2. Hey guys, the yoyo effect is basically a period of success followed by a period of laziness that almost undoes the success...I've been struggling against this homeostasis for a while now and I feel like it's a very common phenomenon for all people who are self actualizing...does anyone else have this problem? How do YOU deal with homeostasis? some things that have worked for me when I'm feeling lazy are - cold shower - workout - go outside what do you think about the yoyo problem?
  3. Hello @Scarwolf ! Video games are definitely a big time waster and are made to be addicting...If I were you I would delete all my games and probably unplug my computer...I was addicted to league of legends for a while and I played about 2000 hours...quitting is a gradual process but I think that some radical action is also necessary. DELETE ALL YOUR GAMES. If you want to quit video games what's the point of having games on your computer? Go COLD TURKEY and if it doesn't work do it again and again and again and again. That worked for me, I still play video games occasionally but I only play about 1-2 hours a week now (with my brother) after many cold-turkey attempts. Deleting games works for me and I hope it works for you too.
  4. @Nahm I really like the balloon analogy, I also think you're right about the learning new things to change your perspective...it's also important to do mindfulness practice so that eventually you will be more aware of your backsliding in the present moment and you can use these insights to backslide less
  5. @ChimpBrain wow, I feel the same way. @S33K3R is right, I think that it is the natural state of our being. What I've learned from vipassana is that if you keep practicing mindfulness, you will eventually not be phased about your backsliding and you won't guilt yourself like we usually tend to do. Paradoxically, I think that being indifferent to your backsliding through mindfulness makes you backslide less...just an idea...
  6. hey! thanks for sharing, I loved this talk takeaway: shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you'll land among the stars
  7. Buy it...the price is about the price of two books, but you get audio reviews of hundreds of books
