there you go again taking a book as your source of unshakable truths. this kind of work is certainly not for you (not yet, i guess). realizing True Nature leads to ultimate humbleness. it leads to a deep state of amazement because you realize that everything is the Perfect Beauty Itself. no more internal conflicts, no more external conflicts. just peace of mind and tons of love towards everyone and everything. you have a fantasized idea of god and that's why "i am god" sounds arrogant. it sounds arrogant because you may feel very distant from a steady and peaceful state of mind. it sounds arrogant because it may be a projection of your own arrogance, thinking that "i am god" means something like "i am superior to everyone else". you imagine god as something very far away. but i tell you this: the most sincere devotion to god is atheist. watch your internal triggers take over now.

@Shakazulu the background and your experience are the same thing. -
your definition of enlightenment and awakening seems to be quite narrow to me. i rather be lost and confused than attached to some kind of moral religion and old religious texts. thankfully, i am not lost and confused

can anything have consciousness? -
what exactly is that word "I" referring to?

@Belay kelemework you're stuck. good luck with your moral attachments.

you're being confused by your imagination. let go of those stories and be truthful to you NOW. who are you NOW? what is reality NOW? if you're scared of letting go of old stories, you won't be able to go any further.

this is accurate. and on the other hand, mystical experiences show us that it can't be known. existence leaves us with no other option than to be completely amazed and humble.

you don't know what you are doing. why are you telling people that you meditate? why do you even meditate? -
what does that mean?
-
@darind by not indulging in any form of violence

@AlphaAbundance you still think that you're an individual thing experiencing existence, but you are existence experiencing what it is like to live consciously. let's assume you are a thing... what is your exact mass? do you wait until your gut is empty to measure your weight? also, the amount of water in your body is variable. for how long do you have to go through thirst until you can measure your exact mass? what about the air in your lungs... do you need to have empty lungs in order to measure your exact mass? what about your nails and hair? what about your semen? what are you, even? -

@DrewNows thank you very much! awesome video -
this is your weakness. your fear of rejection might get you rejected in the end.
-
@clouffy accept it and then investigate the root cause of your feelings. get closer and closer to your suffering. pain is most likely necessary before liberation.

@Leo Gura when existence feels stable, like right now, awe arises. it's confusing because we like to think backwards. but any manifestation of existence in which it's possible to experience consciousness with glimpses of profound peace will feel marvelous. it is also marvelous a priori because stability is one possibility though.

HORRIBLE idea. they should just not buy milk or any dairy products for an entire week. that would be something.

@Ria i created a thread on this subject a while ago. here it is:

it happens everyday. what people usually overlook is the fact that science cannot be done without the scientific method. the rigorousness of the scientific method is what makes science so grounded and effective. science is a method to model the behavior of reality within a certain degree of accuracy. it's nothing more than this. it has never been and it never will be. a scientific experiment must have clear and public results, so to speak. it must be reproducible and must not depend on subjectivity. scientists who step out of these requirements are not really doing science. lots of people do think of science as another religion. those are not scientists either. -
ajasatya replied to ivankiss's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@ivankiss you seem to misunderstand the goal of science. it's a very common mistake because lay people have a fantasized version of what they think science should be. and even among the scientific community, there are many "scientists" who don't understand it. if you want to have a glimpse of the minds of real scientists, take a closer look at how albert einstein and nikola tesla thought about existence. -

don't pay attention to his philosophical/social/political teachings. stick to his practical advice on how to make peace with your parents and organize your life. if you feel depressed, you need to build a solid ground and learn how to walk on it. too much abstraction will just drain more mental energy. -
@pluto everything is vibrantly alive, in a sense that everything is pure potential to be anything. and i didn't need scientific experiments to see this, even though some authentic experiments (this and some of these, for instance) point to this fact and many scientists are already working on models to embrace this perspective. if you're talking about that fraudulent experiment with water, that's something else. those results are deliberate unethical lies.

ajasatya replied to Aakash's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Aakash read this book 4 or 5 times. it will certainly cover the most meticulous details about the Practice. from my experience, reading one chapter of zen literature after every meditation session is GREAT. -
you are this planet, alive, talking, walking, typing and reading. anyway, teal swan still has A LOT to let go. she just thinks she's an advanced practitioner. after a while, delusion becomes just too easy to spot. i hope she's doing alright.
