@doronshadmi there's nothing to say. you're being extremely biased. what would you say to the parents of a child that was killed by a car driven by someone who ate a bad meal and suffered a deep pain in the heart and couldn't control the car properly? you certainly have no idea what you're saying. i'm part of a society that builds and restructures families with the help of psychedelics. -

what do you say to people who cut their own penis in the half? keep playing the messiah. you're entirely helpless. -

@doronshadmi get over it. grow up. we're adults now. everyone is responsible for what they do. you're behaving like someone who's been raped and now spends the rest of Life complaining about sex, not being able to have a single orgasm. -
@Pelin hi. i'm going through this. the best way that i've found (it's working wonderfully) is simply being sincere. open your heart completely. tell him that you're trying to understand why these anger urges pop up. tell him that you feel sorry for being angry and that you regret acting like that. tell him that you'd like to get closer and develop a healthy relationship. stop lying. lying is easy and devastating. if you want to build something instead, you have to struggle a little bit in the beginning. but it's VERY rewarding.

@stevegan928 then become ideologically, emotionally and financially independent first. -

@WaveInTheOcean you are the son of god and the son of man. worry not. be true to your heart and forgive those who haven't been blessed with enough existential anguishes yet. -

@stevegan928 feed your ego until you feel the highest thirst for Truth. a healthy ego is needed for enlightenment because an unhealthy ego cannot believe that he can transcend himself. an unhealthy ego will either find excuses to be lazy or hold beliefs about how he is unworthy of true happiness. the healthy ego says "hell, i am alive, i want to be happy and i deserve it". -
@Hard_Agent Truth comes into play through a vulnerability in the ego. when we're starting our journey, we see ourselves as true beginners. the world is a great master. but then, as we learn and build confidence, we tend to lose the beginner's mind and everything starts to fall apart. you need to let go of everything every night and start fresh every morning. the eternal beginner has the true heart of zen. be humble in your heart and empty in your mind.

@WhatAmI based on your words, he seems to be way more mature than you. contradicts with and now the big one: this is a real mistake. you can travel the world. you can talk to anybody. you can live with the most enlightened beings. and you'll be running in endless circles. Truth and enlightenment are not separate from you. where do you want to go? are you scared? do you think you will find Truth hiding somewhere underneath your carpet? if you stay with him, you will suffer. if you break up, you will suffer. did you ask for Truth? so get ready because your world might get a little blur for a few months. -

meditation. sorry. -
you didn't understand. the desire to get enlightened is actually a healthy and lucid desire. what i mean by spiritual vanity is putting your consistency in a pedestal and then feeling desperately trapped in a rigid discipline that you cannot maintain. instead, admit that you're still very mediocre and that you need to focus on solidifying ONE healthy habit at a time. humility works better. and in fact you're just a rookie. admit it already. edit: and ill add this. get over this pride completely already. admit that you're completely ignorant (because we all are). start slow. find a sangha and practice with them. that's what i did (and still do).
-
@MarinM spiritual vanity is a HUGE trap. don't allow your practice to become a source of pride.
-
be careful here. don't just start labeling yourself like this. this is a self-imposed limiting belief. everyone who's not experienced in inner work struggles with emotional matters. you're not special for it.
-
you did not answer my question. i am asking you what is the nature of "worth". if you ask me what is the nature of my nails i will say "keratin". so, what is "worth" made of? is it real or imaginary?
-
@ill what is this "worth", fundamentally speaking? what is the nature of "worth"?

ajasatya replied to Ether's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Ether yes, it's a training exercise. the word "training" is used in zen very often and it captures the nature of the Practice very well. when asked if he was always mindful and peaceful like that, thich nhat hahn said that it's his endless training. -

all i read was "i am angry! i am so pissed off! those self-proclaimed enlightened dudes! damn!" i'd ask myself who's the one thinking that enlightenment is a trophy how do you feel? has life been hard on you? -
this is where meditation comes into play because you're still too attached to points of view. you want to defend your beliefs as if they were your children, but they're just thoughts. if you want to dig deeper, you'll have to let go of what others may think. the Path has some dark parts, and this one can feel a bit scary because there can be loneliness.
-
do you think you're better than them? at least they are not the ones filled with hatred. be careful not to be hypocritical. spiritual growth is very tricky. you probably still maintain a crapload of toxic behaviors. that's where your anger comes from. heal yourself first.
-
@Mircan arrogance usually comes from attachment to certain points of view. it happens when you think that someone's ideas are worth more then him/her or even define him/her. how do you define yourself?
-
that's your belief, not my experience. i only talk about things that i was able to do, because if i can do it, i know that it's humanly possible. i did drop a lot of things without even tasting them a single bit. i dropped them and accepted the fact that i didn't have those things. and most of them, i realized that they're just crap anyway. then i accepted a very slow paced lifestyle, studying and moving towards my balance everyday. it's been 3 years since i made the decision to drop everything and live with extremely basic things only. the results? a steady, consistent and solid growth. i let go of my cravings and embraced hard working. no despair needed.
