  1. @Little Plant I agree. I grew up in Ukraine and life there was so much slower paced. We didn't have a car, running hot water, washer/drier, microwaves, ATMs, cellphones, etc. People would take a walk to work, market, store, etc even if it was some miles away. There seemed to be a lot less overweight people around. We washed clothes on weekends, in a tub and by hand, and hung it to dry on a clothes line outside. We ate dinner, played board games, watched sport events and movies leisurely as a family. When I came to the U.S. I was shocked to see quick fixes everywhere - people bitching at the wrong washer model, car being wrong color, clothes wrong style, etc, popping up pills and pharmaceutical drugs for simplest things like common colds and body aches. I got pulled into that fast-paced quick-fix lifestyle myself...that until I got cancer and that was a wake up call for me. Since then have been breaking away/'detoxing' emotionally, psychologically, phisically, and spiritually from the madness of the western lifestyle. And that includes taking time for everything. Nothing is more important than peace of mind and nothing is worth losing it. I wholeheartedly agree with the OP.
  2. @ajasatya It happens. You're aware without being self-aware.
  3. @Lauritz No, it wasn't imagination. I consciously experienced my birth and it was quite a traumatic experience. I remember being sort of 'stuck' in there on the way out. I had no feeling of time or place, just the sensations.
  4. I have short yet vivid recollections/glimpses of being in my Mother's tummy... observing the surroundings, just like being submersed under water, the fluid was clear and I could see the inner side of the walls of the womb. And also remember when was passing through the birth channel - dark, tight, laborous - and finally coming out grasping for air and into light. I remember most of it until now. It amazes me how I was being conscious of all that without any self-awareness.
  5. Only Truth can be your eternal peace and rest. And you are IT embodied.
  6. Malls are not the best places to meet quality women. Try local healthfood store, gym, farmers market instead. You know who goes there - holistically minded folk interested in investing their time and money into their health, not more new clothes, shoes, and expensive handbags. Nothing against malls and people who shop there, but who would you find more appealing - a woman addicted to shopping in expensive stores or a woman who goes to a farmers market to buy fresh organic food because she cares for her body and mind? Also depends on the intention of approaching - 'sport fishing' (catch and release) or to reel in a great catch, take it home, fry it and eat it? (haha that was a funny metaphor) Malls would be ok for 'sport fishing', I guess
  7. OMG, that's freakin hilarious. Thanks for the laugh

  13. @Shin This is how it is here pretty much already - gradually merging into a sage-like lifestyle. Ditched TV and phone a few months ago and working on simplifying my life even more. I love peace, serenity, solitude, and simplicity of Being. Life is sweet. Enjoy your retreat
  14. @Vladimir Lol Your joke was pretty good. The ladies in tight yoga pants need to loosen up a bit
  15. Insights from a Western modern day sage on his lifestyle, non-duality, and more - interesting
  16. @WaterfallMachine Mister Ego is sad and understandiably so - its losing its grip and using mind attacks as a survival mechanism. This will help put things in better perspective. Hugs

  18. In order to unlearn conditioning/programming one needs to learn tools to effectively fight illusion with illusion. Besides, not everyone takes psychedelics... nothing wrong with it - as long as you keep expanding your awareness, it's a progress.
  19. @Vladimir Yes, I can still speak Russian and Ukrainian. I talk to my family back in Ukraine via Skype on a regular basis. But English is my primary way of communication too. It wouldn't be hard to lose your native language without much practice. Dah!
  20. @Vladimir Cool! I was born and raised in Odessa, Ukraine, moved to the U.S. in 1995. My Grandmother originally came from Siberia. She was one tough lady.
  21. @Vladimir is a common East European name. Where are your roots from?
