  1. The easiest and one of the most effective meditation is awareness of the breath, eyes closed or open. There is a reason why Zen mainly use this meditation technique all over the world, it's easy and very effective if you don't expect anything and don't try to control the breath. An another that is extremely easy and effective (in nature or in the train/metro), is to just listen to sound around you eyes closed. This is the meditation that got me to a thoughtless state for weeks, I have no clue where I heard of it, can't even find it on google
  2. These past few days, something very weird happened. At first it was difficult to perceive it, I didn't even know what I was dicovering something. This morning I could clearly see what it was, for the first time. So right now you think you're a spiritual seeker, that you actually want to know what reality is, that in some sort of way, you want to be aware of yourself ? This is true and wrong at the same time, because you actually designed this game so perfectly, that everything is made to not realize this. You also really want it, otherwise there wouldn't be a possibility to actually do it. This is easily explained by what infinity is, which is every possibility of everything in all directions/time/space/senses and even senses/space/time that we can't even think about as human beings, because our mind and perception are limited. So the thing I discover this morning was this, I want and don't want to realize it, BOTH. I just realized that everytime my perception of reality started to get weird, my eyes instantly moved, by themselves. Everytime the mind becomes extremely quiet, it tries to pull itself to some fantasy to think about, or some concepts to explain to random people it doesn't even know. If you can see that for yourself, for real, in your everyday experience, you'll start to have lots of fun This is hilarious because it is the mind that thinks it's stupid, and the mind itself that laugh at it because it's hilarious to think it's stupid ! Not only that, but you also start to understand that it's all a prank you're doing to yourself. Just a joke
  3. Just for one day ? A big slut.
  4. There is a simple solution to this. You sit, you think about your death. You do that until your death doesn't trigger any emotion in you.
  5. Do you realize that most of the post of this forum are just concepts that people wants to believe in, feeding their heads with more thoughts to think about instead of doing the real "work" which is to simply be. This is a stage that is necessary, that you have to go through, but don't get stuck in it for too long, because most people get stuck here for years, even decades ... You don't need to believe anything to realize this, you actually have to be in a state where you really don't know, and that means letting go of all concepts and beliefs. Of course this can't happen (it could, but it is very unlikely) if you don't practice meditation/mindfulness etc ... because if you are lost in thoughts all the time, how can you ever be present to see reality as it is ?
  6. You need to have a girlfriend and have passionate and dirty sex with her. You need to have some friends with similar interest and hang out some time. You definitely need to learn how to be at ease socially without any judgment or anxious thoughts. You need to do those things, not because you need them, but because you need to really understand why you don't need them. There is no need for anything actually, but really knowing that is very different than doing mental masturbation about it, which means taking actions. There is no shortcut here, your mind actually doesn't know if it doesn't need those things, it thinks it does, but it doesn't.
  7. Your body is entirely different from 5 years ago, all your cells are different. So it doesn't really make sense to say you're the body, that would imply you're always someone else, all the time, and that is not what the common assumption is when we talk about this topic. Your psychee, even without self-developement is very different from your teenage years, and from your childhood years. The same sense of "I" is present, so you're not the brain either, something else is there from the very beginning.
  8. When you want to help but you're not enlightened
  9. Does not matter what we think or not, what matters is what we experience, what you experience Learning all these concepts are a big trap that your mind plays on you to not do what is necessary, which is simply be. It is that easy, just be in a empty field, or in the forest, and stay there for hours, perhaps days if necessary. Your mind will resist this so much, it won't accept this and find all the good reasons not to do it Because it is that easy ... https://www.eckharttollenow.com/new-home-video/default.aspx?shortcode=u56dzx
  10. Well, Jesus changed water into wine, pretty sure it's possible if you're hardcore enough :3
  11. Not necessarily wrong, it's just there is no way to know if it is, therefore it's pointless to have a side on it. I often use this example, and most of the time people get very pissed off, but there is no evidence that any jews were slained in WW2. I mean, there is, in books and thoughts of some people, but there is no way for you to know if it is true or not, how could you, it's just information that you can upload to your head, that's all it is.
  12. So simple that no one believes it in the first place.
  13. @pluto Because being enlightened is only a shift of perspective, it doesn't mean you're open minded. There was enlightened people (monks) who killed in name of their religion, don't recall the name of the wars, but it is in the "zen devil" video from Leo.
