It's not about only be attracted to the body, it's just a requirement for entering a relationship, the same way that confidence is a requirement for the opposite side. It seems super shallow and superficial, but in reality that's just how it is, it has nothing to do with that, it's not a choice. I know I girl in real life that I like a lot, she's amazing, she has everything, but she isn't just attractive physically to me, and that ruins everything. I wish really hard that it would be possible to ignore that, but you just simply can't, even when you really want to !

I mean that distracting yourself to not feel the emotions/the pain, and not hearing/seeing the thoughts that create the suffering is just buying time until you don't have a choice. Sometimes people buy so much time, that they only do that when they are dying, even then they can still not accept it. Along the way, all kinds of shadows and nasty behaviors has been created just to avoid having to face it. It's like a cancer really, except this one you can let it go and it disappear, but only if you have enough awareness not to create more suffering out of it and just be neutral about it, just looking at it dissolving naturally.

That's already a lot better don't you think ? Don't judge yourself for not being as much "thing" as "that person", everyone has different learning curve and things that makes it easier or harder. The point is to continue to work towards it, and enjoying the process more than the goal, you'll get there eventually if you don't give up

@Emerald I don't think it's a good idea. It always seem better on the other side, but you will get tired of this new girl eventually too. If she was enough to attract you 4 years ago, she probably still is the same physically wise, so what changed is that your mind want something more, because it just always want something more. The trick is to recognize that and try to get deeper intimacy and love with your current girlfriend. So that probably means learning do have tantric sex together, learning to just be together without saying anything and just bonding by cuddling, being more honest and talk about all the things you are afraid to tell her (and her too) and all the things you dream to do, and just more honest communication overall. Also each of you should learn to be fulfilled in the inside, by meditating and doing shadow work that will be hard for both of you, but good news you have each other to support yourself. The only reason to break up would be if you want to grow and she is damn adamant to stay unconscious, resent your for it, and complain about it. Basically, if she doesn't accept what you are and what you are doing. It's ok if she's not super enthousiastic about it, but she should be at least interested and supportive.

I think as long as you are not sucked in the story of the suffering, focusing on it is very effective. If you can't, then more awareness is required. People that can't process their emotions because of this lack are stucked, because nothing will ever be solved until that suffering pass through them. In my experience it is not possible, it creates a shadow, hidden resentment or depression.

Did you consider that no one really laugh at you ever, but you just thought it was about you ? A lot of time in college(not the US stupid term) I heard people laughing, sometimes looking at me, and I'm pretty sure now that they were just having fun. Ofc if you were bullied, some of it was for you, but I would say that most of it was imagined, reinforcing that impression and actually attracting more bullying. For all the incels out there.
