  1. I am gonna make this as short as possible: Can sleep deprivation help cause mystical/non-dual/enlightenment experiences? I recently didn't sleep for and entire day and noticed my mind becoming a bit more fuzzy and thinking in other ways than usual, also experiencing reality a bit more "magical" than usual. After 36 hours I meditated for like an hour and afterwards experienced a completely non-dual/ego-separated state. (The word "state" does not make the 'experience' justice). I basically became God and Reality/Truth and had an inner understanding I had never had before. The edges of my body and ego dissolved and I completely merged with reality. It sure scared the shit out of my ego first but then I let go and it was unbelievable. Cannot even describe. The ones who knows – you know. So... I know sleep deprivation is not good in any way. But it sure helped me reach a totally new level of consciousness/knowing. Would it be beneficial to try at least once to go a full night without sleep, live your day normally and then meditate for a long period of time with the purpose of reaching, well, voilá?
  2. What is the question in this thread and what is the point? I do not understand anything You think there is too much theory and not enough "nothingness"? What is the point? The English is totally off
  3. Numbers or not, the Truth is still there. I think the author is having the purpose of who we can "trust" to what they're saying, if they have the right competence to talk about it or not. It is an ego defence to help the common person, but I also think it can be useful and critical of sources to what enlightenment is (through language) and what enlightenment is not. I think in the end everything just boils down to how well you can explain it Jesus obviously could explain it in a good way at first but those words flew far away from the Truth he was preaching
  4. @Serotoninluv True. Now I don't know if you are "enlightened" (the word, REMEMBER, does not make anything justice here but we have to use our limited language to discuss these things) or have experienced enlightenment before or Truth of reality or whatever label we wanna put onto it. But I can tell you that the magnitude of realisation and 'experience' of it is huge. It is enormous. It is infinite. It is not a small "oh I see"-type of understanding. That is why I am asking the question.
  5. Through an egoic perspective – Yes Through an enlightened 'perspective' – No, because everything that is happening, whether or not it is (through language, logic and moralising) resisting/trying to change, is in fact the natural process of the universe This is a paradox unless we are able to step out of ego
  6. Before enlightenment chop wood, carry water After enlightenment chop wood, carry water I don't think actions of humanity and collective compassion would change, in fact I think it would increase. Therefore they would do as much as they could to stop it, just like they would before enlightenment. A person can be enlightened and still have opinions about something and society can still carry on. There's just the realisation that no one is doing it, but the acceptance of a natural process playing itself perfectly. So is the "meteor" a natural process that should not be stopped? Well in that case the scenario where they stop it from happening is just as much a natural process, without labels of "but they know they don't exist so why try to stop it?"
  7. Well first of all the ego is always talking. And since you view it from ego it will also seem like ego I think this whole thing about "ego" really has gotten way out of hand, especially on this forum. There is nothing wrong with ego since it's a part of reality, it's there for survival reasons and to have a perspective of the cosmos/Truth. The only problem is that it creates is own world and separation. You don't see the point Leo is trying to make. YES he is speaking from Ego since language is extremely limited and we have absolutely NOTHING to communicate this Truth with, and therefore all the words coming out of his mouth will seem like ego. I don't think you really understand what enlightenment is. You still seem stuck in the paradigm of thinking enlightenment is for your Self. YOU DONT WANT ENLIGHTENMENT. Do you understand what that means? It means YOU do not want it. Difficult to explain but I have a video going more in depth: (mind my English)
  8. Spending a lot of money, time and effort going to South America to lick toads and join spiritual practices just to "experience a mystical experience", wouldn't you call that "seeking behaviour" as well? Everything that has to do with enlightenment and mystical experiences is usually a seeking behaviour. There has to be a seeker. I'm not trying to say people should start giving up sleep. I'm just saying that in my case this actually worked for some reason. I've had those types of experiences on mushrooms before and even sober, and this time it was even more intense. Could be the level I'm at as well and probably wouldn't work for a newbie
  9. Yes, I have had sleep paralysis and I am able to induce those pretty easily. Same with lucid dreaming. I've always had an ability to feel intuition and energies pretty easily. Aka. "psychich" abilities. I think I got it from my grandma who worked with those type of things. But that is not the point. This is a serious question and it needs more attention, just like with psychedelics. We are here to explore different shortcuts (yes, shortcuts can be good if they are not bad for you) and see where it takes us. I know sleep deprivation is bad, but might there not be something going on in the brain/mind after you have lost sleep that allows you to enter consciousness in a totally different way? Perhaps the chakras become more sensitive or something. I am not saying stay up 3 days in a row, but if you would try to stay up an entire night and then later during the day have an intense meditation session I bet you that there would be a different experience. Not in a negative way, but in an enlightening way just like I had. It was pretty short, the experience, but really heavy as well. I thought that was what this forum-section was about but people seem to be more interested in discussing cactuses and a guy named Mr. Traumatik instead of direct awakenings.
  10. I think any subject can be used for self-actualisation as long as you have a purpose behind it, master it, and learn to integrate it to your life and to help others. Also to see the limits of it and how it can be developed. Language is key to communication. If you're gonna study language, view it more holistically. When people think of language they only think of countries languages, but language is way bigger than that. Language is basically science. Always go as deep as you can to any subject you can and always reflect back to yourself, others, society at large and consciousness. Programming is a language, science is a language, money is a language, French is a language. It's all relative to the purpose What is the language you would be interested in then?
  11. The idea of feminism is green The ego's way of using feminism is red and blue
  12. What is Truth? Hint, it's not "Nothing". It's: But it's still something

  16. I find that boredom is such a greater thing than what it's usually referred to as. Like Leo has said, it's not just a little feeling/emotion we experience when we lack things to stimulate ourselves with, it is rather physical death itself. My mind is highly conceptual, very logical and loves to solve problems. In fact the purpose of my entire life recently is to see and fix current problems. I find that when everything in my life is going well, I easily feel bored, and I face this emptiness I cannot even describe. The only thing that can help me deal with it is setting a higher vision for myself so that I have something to look forward to. Since now I'm at a point in my life where I've always wanted to be, and I know it cannot make me satisfied/happy because it can never be from the external, I feel like I have to set an even bigger vision for myself. But I know once I reach that I'll just experience the same thing. I always need to find problems in my life and be on the "edge" in order to not be bored and to get rid of the emptiness, but I also know that there is another level we can reach where we fully embrace the emptiness... I do not want to live like I currently am (internally), and I want to find enjoyment in even the most simple thing. I know too many things logically, and I even know that even if I do something exciting it's a very short-term feeling and it will fade away soon and I will be left with an emptiness/boredom. This makes it even more difficult to enjoy life since I know too much (because of personal development) and I sometimes just wish I would live in ignorance. How do you guys deal with boredom? When do you experience it? What do you do to really embrace the empty feeling within?

  18. Haha this is funny Synchronize because I wrote this in the new book I'm currently writing (before I saw this post). In all essence, mathematics is a collective agreement. We add a meta-belief to that "1" + "1" = 2. That's all science really is, a collective agreement, a language. Not Truth.
  19. What is a "scam" for one person is help for another. You have to consider your own dogmatic view also. I took the life purpose course and it was the starting point of my new life. It helped me and was worth every penny since I used it the right way. People expect others to do it for them. A course doesn't change your life. You do. The course is only there to guide you.
  20. Meditation Contemplation Judo Looking at ducks ...f*ck, my life is boring
  21. Homeostasis is natural. It's human. But think about this: When you were in that state before personal development, were you really aware of it? Now you're actually aware of it. And awareness is actually everything we're seeking in this process. You're on the right path. Life/Destiny is just testing you right now. You need the dips/downfalls in order to rise. You reach a point where you're on top with your self-actualization. But then your ego takes over. And then you get a so called ego-backlash which is NECESSARY for your growth. So take pride in this. You can then say "Okay, I'm in this low state right now, but now I can rise even more than last time." Without failure there can be no growth. So keep striving.
  22. Sometimes it's good to go back to the roots of personal development. I don't know how much you guys know about the famous, Swedish DJ by the name of Avicii, but he died two days ago (unknown cause so let us not speculate too much, but there might have been drugs/alcohol involved/perhaps even suicide)... Anyways. I was watching his documentary "True Stories" which is about his career and the reason to why he stopped touring. Now his career kicked off super fast when he was around 20 years old, so obviously he was not mature enough for the fame he received. He resorted to alcohol to cope with his extreme anxiety and stress he felt. All of this might led to diseases and maybe ultimately his death? What's even more convincing is that I've looked up old Swedish forum posts from him back in 2006 where he started to spread some of his early music, and he also made posts about his anxiety and stress. Now he did nothing really about this core issue for him, and along with the fame and the chase for stardom and all of those things – of course through massive passion and hard work – he wasn't able to handle it. So already here it's a fact that money/fame does not cure your problems. This shows the extreme importance of setting personal development and the mastering of one's own psychology as a standard in schools/society overall. Instead of the chase of fortune and fame. Not to say those things can't make you happy – anything can, but the core problem can never be solved by masking. This also lead me to a video from Leo where he talks about this:
