Prepping is good to do regardless of what's going on. Start off stocking up on basic necessities. Canned food, water and/or a decent water purifier, first aid kits etc.

Dog-whistling to Armed White Supremacists terrorist militias Completely screwing up the response to COVID-19 Downplaying COVID 19 and politicizing simple things like wearing a mask Denying climate change and invoking policies that make it 10x worse Inability to take accountability for ANYTHING Giving the largest tax break to corporations in US history Cozying up with dictators and authoritarians across the world Practicing nepotism and putting his smug silver spoon fed family members in vital positions of government Withdrawing from Nuclear Arms treaties and accelerating the nuclear arms race Almost starting WWIII after assassinating Iran's top general Accelerating the Militarization of Space Smacking down legislation that would have stopped our support of Saudi Arabia's genocide in Yemen Rolling back vital enviromental regulations that keep us from dying from polluted water and air His constant lying and theatrics His brain washed and brain dead supporters (all 71 million of them) Mockingly throwing rolls of paper towels to a crowd of Puerto Ricans after their island was ravaged by a climate change induced hurricane -
You do realize that this is the exact same mentality that has put us in this predicament, right? Offsetting the responsibility on younger and future generations to deal with climate change is just morally wrong. Especially when we have the time and means to do something meaningful about it. Also, those of us younger than 30, will probably be spending our waning years watching the planet burn while the younger generations curse our existence for not doing anything about it. If you plan on having children, value living in a clean environment, value the natural world then you really have no reason not to care about this issue.

My dude do you know how climate change works and what the implications of living in 2 - 3 degree world are? Everything you take for granted about human civilization today was and is dependent on a stable climate system. In fact human agriculture could have never been initiated were it not for a stable and reliant climate favorable for growing crops. There is a reason why we spent hundreds of thousands of years as hunter gatherers. I have no doubt that human ingenuity will solve many issues related to energy and sustainability. However, we're on track to entering into a whole new world that will become increasingly inhospitable for large swaths of people. And climate change is no longer something that'll occur in 2100. It is occurring now and its accelerating exponentially. Unless we take immediate action we'll be spending our waning years watching the tragic destruction of the planet and each calamity that unfolds as a result. Our children will be the ones who have to live their adult years in a world completely unrecognizeable from the world we live in today.

David Packman gives a good anaylsis on the minds of MAGA When 68+ million Americans vote for Trump after 4 years of this lunacy there is a much bigger problem here. Its deeper than the Democrats not "appealing" more to progressive ideas or more centrist ideas. These people DON'T care about policies and ethics. They care about what Trump represents, which is largely maintaining white supremacy, and "owning the libs".

Once again the African American community saves America from itself.

Say goodbye to any action being done about climate change.

You've literally espoused almost every right wing talking point. Its hard to take you serious because its ao obvious you're getting all of your talking points from right wing media. Also if there is one thing that should make you vote blue it is climate change. Any administration that denies climate change is happening in 2020 is disqualified to lead. -

You're welcome. These groups have been around for decades but really proliferated during the Obama admin. Now with a president that dog whistles to them and all the chaos that's taken place, they feel emboldened. I can definitely see some incidents of far right terrorist attacks against "soft targets" if Trump loses. I don't mean to spread fear but I think we all need to be vigilant in the next few months. -

Agreed. Her response to COVID showed competent leadership. I am so glad I live in a state with a governor that listens to the science. -

Thanks for sharing this. I decided to go vegetarian about a year ago and don't regret it. I think switching to a plant base diet is very beneficial, however the best thing we can do now is getting behind candidates and politicians who take this issue seriously. What's needed is radical change in economic policies. -

Climate change: Warmth shatters section of Greenland ice shelf By Jonathan Amos BBC Science Correspondent 14 September 2020 Related Topics Greenland ice loss A big chunk of ice has broken away from the Arctic's largest remaining ice shelf - 79N, or Nioghalvfjerdsfjorden - in north-east Greenland. The ejected section covers about 110 square km; satellite imagery shows it to have shattered into many small pieces. The loss is further evidence say scientists of the rapid climate changes taking place in Greenland. "The atmosphere in this region has warmed by about 3C since 1980," said Dr Jenny Turton. "And in 2019 and 2020, it saw record summer temperatures," the polar researcher at Friedrich-Alexander University in Germany told BBC News. Nioghalvfjerdsfjorden is roughly 80km long by 20km wide and is the floating front end of the Northeast Greenland Ice Stream - where it flows off the land into the ocean to become buoyant. At its leading edge, the 79N glacier splits in two, with a minor offshoot turning directly north. It's this offshoot, or tributary, called Spalte Glacier, that has now disintegrated. 'Unprecedented' ice loss as Greenland breaks record Milne Ice Shelf: Satellites capture Arctic ice split Satellites record history of Antarctic melting Image copyright Copernicus Data/ESA/Sentinel-2B Image caption The ice is being attacked from above and below The ice feature was already heavily fractured in 2019; this summer's warmth has been its final undoing. Spalte Glacier has become a flotilla of icebergs. Look closely at the satellite pictures and the higher air temperatures recorded in the region are obvious from the large number of melt ponds that sit on top of the shelf ice. The presence of such liquid water is often problematic for ice platforms. If it fills crevasses, it can help to open them up. The water will push down on the fissures, driving them through to the base of the shelf in a process known as hydrofracturing. This will weaken an ice shelf. Oceanographers have also documented warmer sea temperatures which mean the shelf ice is almost certainly being melted from beneath as well. "79N became 'the largest remaining Arctic ice shelf' only fairly recently, after the Petermann Glacier in northwest Greenland lost a lot of area in 2010 and 2012," explained Prof Jason Box from the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland (GEUS). "What makes 79N so important is the way it's attached to the interior ice sheet, and that means that one day - if the climate warms as we expect - this region will probably become one of the major centres of action for the deglaciation of Greenland." Greenland and Antarctica ice loss accelerating Greenland Ice Sheet: 'More than 50 hidden lakes' detected Climate change: Greenland's ice faces melting 'death Image copyright Copernicus Data/ESA/Sentinel-2B Image caption The trunk of N79 is covered in melt ponds and streams The Northeast Greenland Ice Stream drains about 15% of the interior ice sheet. The stream funnels its ice either down N79 or the glacial member just to the south, Zachariae Isstrom. Zachariae has already lost most of its floating ice shelf area. Prof Box said N79 could resist longer because it was penned in right at its forward end by some islands. This lends a degree of stability. But, he added, the shelf continues to thin, albeit mostly further back along the trunk. "This will likely lead to N79 disintegrating from the middle, which is kind of unique. I guess, though, that won't happen for another 10 or 20 years. Who knows?" he told BBC News. July witnessed another large ice shelf structure in the Arctic lose significant area. This was Milne Ice Shelf on the northern margin of Canada's Ellesmere Island. Eighty sq km broke free from Milne, leaving a still secure segment just 106 sq km in size. Milne was the largest intact remnant from a wider shelf feature that covered 8,600 sq km at the start of the 20th Century. The fast pace of melting in Greenland was underlined in a study last month that analysed data from the US-German Grace-FO satellites. These spacecraft are able to track changes in ice mass by sensing shifts in the pull of local gravity. They essentially weigh the ice sheet. The Grace mission found 2019 to have been a record-breaking year, with the ice sheet shedding some 530 billion tonnes. That's enough meltwater running off the land into the ocean to raise global sea-levels by 1.5mm. -

I think this was proven fake. However there is some speculation that this may have been a reenactment of a real autopsy after the incident at Rosewell, NM. Also you guys should check out 'Identified Flying Objects: A Multidisciplinary Scientific Approach to the UFO Phenomenon' by Michael Paul Master https://www.amazon.com/Identified-Flying-Objects-Multidisciplinary-Scientific/dp/1733634061 He hypothesizes that the beings piloting these crafts may actually be our future descendants. He points out the unlikelihood of them being extraterrestrial considering that vast amount of space between star systems. He also goes over the anthropomorphic feautures commonly associated with the 'Greys' and why its more likely they're apart of the human lineage as oppose to being a species from another star system. Greys have too many similar traits to humans and any alien life is likely to be radically different from us physically. -

Not to detract from the premise of the thread but 60 million Americans plan on voting for Trump AGAIN. I agree voting for him is absolutely absurd btw.
