Dodo replied to The White Belt's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@The White Belt If they convinced themselves they are happy, then this has no qualitative difference than really being happy. Delusional happiness is still happiness. The question is what happens after death. If what happens after death voids the entire experience, then it didn't even matter if they were happy or not in the first place. -
I don't need money, I need the freedom money gives in this society. You need money to run your Internet and express your opinion about how you don't need money to be happy. Well then we all should live in the street and it will be absolutely blissful. Why are you not living on the street? Donate me your money that dont make you happy. Only they do make you happy, they just raise the bar on the happiness you can have. You will realise how happy money make you when you lose them all. Would be rather interesting if you could get your hands on psychedelics without money, try it. I don't even need the other stuff, just money, because I am far enough in my meditation practice to enjoy aloneness.

What is a law? Well from the dictionary - "a statement of fact, deduced from observation, to the effect that a particular natural or scientific phenomenon always occurs if certain conditions are present." What is the law of attraction? Some would say it is a way to attract what you desire - proven untrue, because most people don't have what they desire. When this pops up, the usual defense is that the law of attraction is actually attracting "that which you already are". Nice cop out answer, but why would I desire that which I already am? The only conclusion is that law of attraction is either a lie (doesn't work) or useless, because it can only attract that which you already are/have. What's the point of the law of attraction and why are so many buzzing over it? Mostly in America too, because in America things people desire are much easier to get. Funny. There you have less actual obstacles to things, mostly mental ones. Nice place to be born in, but not everyone's that lucky. (Also have to be lucky enough to have a good education/family I guess) If I want a million dollars, I have to be a million dollars? How does one become a million dollars? What is the vibration of a million dollars? Let's rename it to the Lie of attraction, not Law. A Law is something that would work no matter WHAT. This "law" has proven wrong again and again in my experience as I keep not attracting what I want, but the opposite of it in my life.

Before Enlightenment - chop wood carry water, after Enlightenment wood chopping itself, water carrying itself ? -

@aurum easy - an experience i would like for infinity is one that feels like the experience is new every time. Like having your first -insert here- every time. Thats how I feel when im high. If I have sex, its like my first time -or close, if i eat something it tastes like the first time. But i definitely wouldn't want to make myself ignorant that im God, that gotta be the dumbest move lol. -
@Shin perhaps I am simpler to please than other people. I would be happy, why not. Those things wouldn't add anything negative. Those things will help me accelerate consciousness work, not decelerate it. The only bad thing about having good things is the recognition that they will pass. The only good thing about having bad things is the recognition that they will pass. In the present moment though I would enjoy an ice-cream and not so enjoy a poo, even though they both will pass. I prefer the good dream passing.

I agree with earlier post that law of attraction should be solely about maximising the quality of the experience, not actually about making physical changes. Now, when one is blissful, the physical changes may follow as well, but that's not part of the law of attraction and those changes are not guaranteed (which means they are not part of a law, because a law is something consistent that always works) , it's just giving misconceptions if you tell people they can shape reality with thought. For one if you are critical at conducting tests, you will quickly discover it doesn't work. Only if you close your eyes for the times it doesnt work and only look at the times it appearantly happens to work you will think it's the law of attraction that did it. It's a bias by the mind. It can be both negative and positive bias. Both are delusional. Perhaps law of attraction only works for Ego.

@Nahm In one of his videos Sadhguru says something of the kind : "Law of attraction is between opposites. Are you opposite to the Universe? "

@AleksM I dont think I will live that long because of my body's fragility and disease, but ok
-
@AleksM btw is pure awareness the highest frequency possible? I am aligning with that one (and still I keep attracting the shit of the universe) The ultimate strange loop : Life is a shit that shits
-
Has that ever worked for anyone? I mean, first of all how do you know what your better parallel reality self vibrates at? What does that even mean? Secondly, is it possible for me to lose my physical bodily imperfections such as skin disease simply by an inner shift? (In order to have the perfect body) It all seems like wishful thinking and then maybe some confirmation bias with some people who have had lucky breaks while doing this... If nobody has cured themselves by this, then shouldn't it be a proof that it doesn't work ? I am open minded, but I also hold the word LAW to a high standard. If it should work, anything should be possible, even the impossible.

8 hours more of free time is what I want. I will be able to go for as long as i want in a mountain to meditate and enjoy beauty, then come back into the city without financial and work problems. How is that not a different place than being stuck with the horrible air and noise pollution of the city. Yes. There are better places to be physically. If one can sustain themselves.

I want the money because of the freedom money offers. Like I said, to travel, to get what you need, to be free from work. With 1 million I would be able to spend whatever amount of time I want in meditation for example. Things like that. Oh yeah and I will feel that life is not screwing me in every way possible. It will be screwing me in every way possible except one!

Try following the question "Am I aware?" - from Rupert Spira. This question holts awareness from honing in on the objects appearing, and instead relaxes it into a recognition of itself by itself. Which Rupert calls a Non-practice - hence no effort. -
If I believe something that is not, I am delusional I guess I already am for believing deeply I am this body-mind though. Perhaps being delusional is the only way to be.

Posted by @ADD in a closed thread. Found it rather funny I want to add "My father gave me a small loan of a million meditations to get started" -
Obviously if I want something I don't have it. This is just nonsense. So I will attract 1 million if I don't feel like I lack 1 million. How can that happen if I don't have 1 million? Impossible If I concentrate on gratitude and love it will not be connected to the 1 million, so in this case law of attraction will also not attract 1 million, but perhaps other things. So it will not work 'perfectly' for my desired outcome either way. That's why I say it's either a lie or useless.

But how is that the law of attraction then? It's simply working towards your goal. It's not a magical property of the universe.. My problem is with the whole concept of the law of attraction. It's presented as this magical thing that can give you whatever you want effortlessly. It makes me almost angry that so many people believe in that crap. I don't know why. Attraction implies stuff comes to you, not that you have to walk towards them and get them. It's just a shitty lie that's all.

A millionaire would use their money. Simply believing somehow that I am a millionaire doesn't grant me the ability to use my millions of money. You see the problem? Doesn't get me out of debt, freedom from work, doesn't give me freedom to travel the world, doesn't give me [insert what money gives, which is a lot here].

I believe synchronicities are not sign of special power, but simply a noticing of the fractal nature of reality. -

I have asked myself this, and the answer could be that God is unconscious / doesn't care. Or perhaps God wanted to create something real, like playing Sims without cheat codes when you get in trouble. When you are young you want to use cheat codes in games in order to win, but later you realize that to become actually good at a game, there is no shortcut. Have to play it and suffer many defeats in the process. Perhaps it's no different than this. Perhaps it's random, perhaps it values suffering as much as joy. Who knows -
@AleksM I have been sick and vomiting all night. Is this from my newfound identity as a pregnant point? :-D Feelsbadman It's really hard to find the good sometimes when every 10 minutes you throw up, become dehydrated, drink again and repeat. Looks like a horrible strange loop :-D! Not fun being pregnant :-D

I remember In maths there is this thing when a contradiction /paradox appears, which this episode made come up in my mind. If for example you are trying to find x and then while solving the problem you find that x>5 and x<3 for example. Then you would write the symbol for contradiction and then would write that x belongs to the empty set (not that it doesn't exist). Sounds very sexy
