  1. This defector used to be an ambassador to Denmark and other countries and saw a difference. He looks like he's not afraid to speak out to bring about positive changes toward democracy, even in China. I think this clip is informative and makes me think about the approach to my life purpose. How do we change ppl's thinking when they grew up in such environments? It can't all of a sudden happen.
  2. @Annoynymous I'm not trying to overgeneralize. I know they are not all in blue. Why would I make a friend from there? I'm talking about only the ones in blue, if I have to deal with them.
  3. It's the opposite. If they are stage blue, and you are beyond that, normally, you get to hear all their opinions, ideologies, and small talks. They could be overly friendly at first. Later, there will be distance from them. Have you worked with stage blue ppl? Just keep it very professional.
  4. Hmmm...wait. After posting these, I just got through talking to my friend on the phone. He's gay, and he's from mainland China, studying his master's in the US. I told him this, and he said that he is openly gay and making mainland Chinese friends here in the US. So, basically, he's saying that it's not always true that everyone is in stage blue. Hmmm...ok. That's interesting.
  5. I agree with you on the stage blue part. China is homogeneous. Many of them have a lot of trouble adjusting, not just with English, but with seeing different ppl. For example, if they see an interracial couple walking or sitting together, they will laugh out loud or keep gossipping about them. They stick together in their own groups. Be careful of using what I said as a stereotype. Not all are like this. Some have adjusted. It happens with stage blue ppl anywhere in business, in jobs, etc. No, a Chinese American is definitely not the same as someone who is newly from China. They will ask me if I'm Chinese. I am from a South East Asian country originally. I think some of them expect me to say, "yes, I am Chinese." Otherwise, they will think I'm lying because how am I able to speak Chinese? Oh, well, I don't care. For a stage blue person, they don't understand. If they are stuck, they will hold on to their beliefs and be suspicious of petty labels.
  6. @Annoynymous what country do you think I'm from? I'm not from China. I know China is communist. Most ppl in the US know that. I have never been to China.
  7. Yeah, ok, I get your point. You can't just say that all hope is lost and forget about them. Nope. But, my point is, how do we make small changes being who we are? For instance, in my case, I know how to speak Chinese (Mandarin), and plan to teach it. What can I do here in the US to contribute to a gradual change in someone's mindset? Let's say this person is someone from China, a Chinese student perhaps, in the US for the first time? Maybe it's someone from the US going to China. China is no longer completely isolated. Otherwise, it will become like North Korea. Human beings by nature are capable of going up the spiral (SD). You could see the generation gap.
  8. So, now what? We still have to wait and see what the Senate will do. Trump will most likely be in his office and not be kicked out.
  9. Knowing that life continues even after you're in a relationship.
  10. @Anna1 I added something else to the other post. Earth is far easier to study in science. It's probably going to take a miracle, maybe, to convince science to study enlightenment, and for it to become mainstream. I'm just making a comparison between studying the Earth in science and studying enlightenment. Earth is more tangible and easy access, so ppl don't think it's make-believe. That was the point I'm trying to convey.
  11. You're hilarious. Now, are you interested in enlightenment? It's going to be hard to convince science to study this. Earth is easier to study.
  12. @Preety_India ok, I've been reading through your thread carefully. Just wanted to share: it doesn't really matter overall that his one thinking is "the Earth is flat." Can you see right now if his personality is determined enough to stay with you? I think this is what really matters. I just want to point out that maybe he's mostly stage green, perhaps? Be careful on this one. Green can be stuck. I knew a couple who I suspected that the bf was in green because he's very laid back, but in the end they broke up. I'm not saying that this is your case. I'm just saying be careful. Love but don't be too overly attached.
  13. @FoxFoxFox I understand what you're saying, but I find pointers like these cute!
  14. @FoxFoxFox ok. That's fine. To me, from my experience, it's not a model. It's a pointer. Leo posted this once on his blog: I'm like, wow.
  15. Yes, correct. To me, it's a little of both and how it fits into one's life's journey. Tell me something, how did you find Leo and actualized.org in the beginning? What struck you the most to end up in his forum?
  16. @Raptorsin7 I'm suspicious that one's journey does impact your experience, not just a technique like meditation. You could call this karma if you want, but like I said, karma works in subtle, profound, and unique to one's life kind of ways.
  17. @Raptorsin7 yes, correct. I'm just looking for things in common. My goal is not to test anyone or make projections. I asked out of curiosity.
  18. Please become a NRI first, know the world, yourself, and then pick a bf.
  19. @Raptorsin7 the ppl with money, fame, and power, do know in the back of their minds that others in the world and in their own backyards are still impoverished. They still know that there are wars and serious crimes, and so many problems, domestically and internationally. But, they do nothing about it. Maybe because they don't care and say to themselves, "hey, not my problem." This is probably a major reason. Or, another reason could be according to this quote, "Give a man a fish feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish feed him for life." But, they never take these things into consideration and put it together with--all is one (enlightenment). I'm wondering these are probably steps along with the journey of enlightenment. We see ppl like Buddha and Jesus helping ppl in their own ways during their own time.
  20. Hey, that's fine. It's your decision. But, I'm wondering, if there is a chance that it's not meant to be for some. I'm not saying that it's you because only you know what's best for you on such a profound topic. That's why, as I've mentioned, I'm doing my life purpose as I'm doing it. I'm only trying to plant the seed and let ppl be off on their journeys if they don't understand. Only those who are ready to hear it, and have the experience will understand. (Just like the 10 ox herding pics.) If I told the whole story and tried my best to communicate and point out that it's the truth, would that be ok? Would this be right? Maybe not. For many, I suppose, they need to do a journey in this life and not skip over it.
  21. I bet they want you to go on the journey to live life to the fullest--whatever that means to you, and however you discover it with an open mind. Why wait for enlightenment to happen and forget about living life? Why go out of balance? Maslow's is also a pointer. Self-transendance is classified at the top. Do you actually want to go straight to the top? That may not be the journey for you. There is such thing as karma, although it's not the absolute. It can be subtle and profound. And also, the absolute is not spoken in words. You will not know how it's like to be absolute unless you've experienced it. All words are only pointers.
  22. Here's another one from him: Is enlightenment a myth? He answers this question. If it is a myth, the world would not be based on the principles of enlightenment--one of them being "love" when you embody into yourself and this world. We would be living our lives differently, and it won't be based on enlightenment. Imagine that--the "opposite" of love perhaps? Think about it. Would you want to be of service to the world without a "love" mission to it? Would you want to serve the world as a "separate self?" Separated from the truth? Would that work out well? Probably not. Why do you suppose it didn't work out for someone like, let's say, Hitler? He based his mission in life on his ego.
  23. Part 1 Footprints to Ox's tail ☯️ Part 2 Riding the Ox Backwards Part 3 The Cloth Bag Monk This is what I got from those clips: God (No-self, nothingness, no external environment, no embodiment, the absolute, Truth) --> Everythingness (You literally become everything.) --> Godhead (Singularity, white/black hole, Riding the Ox Backwards, flow) --> To love realm --> Ego: embodiment in mind, body, world, universe (The arrow means transformation. When this is occurring, there is no distance between you, the absolute, and everything else. There are no dimensions. Everything is one all the time. I said "white hole" only because everythingness came together and formed a singularity. So, it looks "white.") God's Arrow Going from God, to singularity, to ego. Always happening. Always going through us. Traps What is interesting to me is, he mentioned the Power of Realms trap. To me, this means being hooked on pursuing anything in the "everythingness realm," or being obsessed with it. Realms are phenomena. They are infinite. There are just more and more. If there's no realm, then that's God because everything is one. God is not a realm. In one ear and out the other...this is one of my favorite. How are you going to pass on the message once you get it? The other yous will not listen. Too woo-woo for "them." Even Shinzen Young is using metaphors to describe it. Once you become one with everything, everything is you. While you are God, you will understand that the experience is not grandiose. How can it be grandiose? It's just you, and only you, God, exists, and transforming into yourself by yourself without separation. It's only when you embody back into your ego that you'll think that it's grandiose. Initially, you may think that the experience is "big" and you're "small." This is the mind misinterpreting the experience. The experience literally has no separation or distance. Please share insights.
