Very true! It would be interesting to see things done differently, though I'm not super optimistic. Clearly current affairs aren't great. I need to study China more. To try and dissect the smokescreen of propaganda to find out what's actually real. Haha yeah they seem to be strict within their own borders. Uyghurs as well and the Taiwan threat. More distant from their immediate borders could be different policy and interesting though. Like belt and road initiative. Whether this would shift or not if U.S. competition faded out though.. Who knows. It's just ehh pros and cons, different winners different losers.

Well yes. U.S. is worse than people want to admit. But it is not so differently "evil" from the others. Sure there's variations but at the end of the day, most global politics are power politics. The strong do what they can and the weak do what they must. U.S. seems extra evil because they've been at the top of the food chain. They meddle in other countries, start wars, support proxies, overthrow governments for their own interests. They have immense power and resources to do so. However, if the U.S. lost all power tomorrow, this sort of thing wouldn't stop happening. The game would change and so would the players, but not the underlying mechanics driving conflict and power. Some places would be better and some not. The power players would become more regional, more multipolar. Major countries like China, Russia, EU/major member states would fill the void and expand their already occuring exploits.

Ya, I've noticed this too It's another big problem in that future that will have to be solved. Healthy social technology for making that a reality just isn't there yet. I don't think people understand how wicked the problem is. You can't just making cost of living and services more affordable and more people will start cheffing up children. It'll likely improve numbers but not reverse the trend. Flick the magic wand and make earth a utopia tomorrow and I bet people still might not be fuckin enough! It's very economic, cultural, global, quality of life, survival, and personal preference based (probably even more factors too). That's why it's so difficult. Stage blue reproduction by pressure has kept humanity surviving, but it's produced sooooo much emotional damage and trauma. Ideally people are having kids because they want to and are actually healthy/ready to do so! But this isn't really what happens now. We'll see how Japan and South Korea handle it- They should be the first where it becomes really problematic. What their consequences are and if they can cope or not.
