I thought about this today: When you dream, all of the dream is you since you are its creator and in this sense it is of an inherent non dual nature. But i have never felt this non dual nature within my dreams. For as long as I can remember, I have always felt duality in my dreams: for eg. when I was a child I was hiding away from a monster. Or in another more recent dream I was asking for directions to a woman. Hence feeling the separation between me and the other (the monster or the woman). Does anyone have experience of non duality in dreams? And im not talking about the intellectual comprehension that your dream is non dual, Im talking about a feeling. Im also curious about your thoughts on the feeling of duality in dreams ..

What is the remaining 5% needs of a being?
-
they are actually yes and no; people also like to compare humans to robots. how come?
-
we can teach them detachment, no?

I found that in relationships (parent, friendship, romantic etc) an important need is that of exclusivity. Feeling special or needed/ wanted by another person. Is that a general need or is this my personal experience only? Also to what degree is this healthy? Should this need be dropped altogether? If so, how does one do that? Or should you keep this need and find someone who can meet it? What if you are in a relationship where the other doesn't meet this need, should you pursue this relationship?

Who has experienced this feeling before? Do you know where it comes from? Do children feel this as well or is it the opposite and they actually feel whole? If they do feel whole where and how did the change happen? Just to elaborate, the feeling I am talking about here is that of incompleteness: that someone else will be able to provide you happiness and comfort. That you are not enough on your own, and that you need someone else's presence in your life.

How do you do it in a detached way? -
So yes, what is it exactly? What are your thoughts?
-
Yes! they are not exclusive in any way! You can do anything whether you are enlightened or not. Thinking that the human condition is not something you can explore anymore just because you are on this path is an illusion I believe. The human condition is wonderful to explore, it is so dramatic and funny, it has so many shapes and colours, why would you want to deprive yourself of this big show? You might not attach to the story presented by the actors on stage, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy going to the theatre anymore.. So now which performance is it you want to direct ?

I would stick to saying a polite hello and then if a conversation starts from there, cool. If nothing follows, cool. You don't have to have a conversation if you don't want to. But I do know where you are coming from because I have had these questions myself. Maybe you have a belief that you need to start a conversation with someone you know, otherwise you will come across as impolite. But this is not necessarily true. What is impolite (and very hurtful) is to ignore the other person. So the least you can do is acknowledge their existence, by saying a friendly hello for example and then if one of you is not interested in further interaction, it's fine too. You just continue reading your book/phone/listening to music.

In one of the videos, Leo talks about this, that you come to say things like: i am this tree, I am the table and the chair etc etc. But as much as I understand intellectually that one is not their thoughts, brain, body whatever, because you didn't chose any of it, why do we only have our limited perspective? How can you not identify with this limited perspective when it is all that you know? I was sitting next to the cat earlier and took her paw in my hand and i could feel my hand in contact with her paw whereas cannot feel her paw in contact with my hand. What i mean is, the only sensations I have are those from my body, not those of the cat. And i do realise there is no way i can go into the cat's body and feel things from her perspective, but why say things like 'I am everything' when we only have our own perspective? Why do we have this limited perspective in the first place? why in my body and not the cat's?

That's right. My body doesn't belong to me.. (lol, now i just had a thought that saying this would disqualify all the feminists arguments ) But my problem is I cannot feel that I am oneness/non duality/ etc. And again WHY am i experiencing all of life through my own limited perspective ? Or because everyone likes to say awareness , why is awareness experiencing reality through one limited body? -

What is a mask of no mask exactly? like what? -
Just out of curiosity, do you guys feel a default superiority to other living beings because you are born a human?
-
ok so in this very small sample of humans so far we have 3 (?) people no and one yes... interesting. But you guys are a specific audience too. This could be a potential study.

These are all valid points; during the holocaust it was morally acceptable and even encouraged to expose Jews and hand them over to authorities. In this context discrimination and violence against a group of people was approved under legislation. This type of morality was acceptable because it was serving the ones in power. If people cut off a jew's head and posted it, would it instill any reaction from the public of those times? The same dynamics occur in all other contexts of domination of one group over another: slavery during the 17th and 18th centuries; native american persecution etc. And it is happening today in for e.g islamic states where normal might mean stoning your woman to death if she doesn't want to marry you or in societies where morality is about crying over a decapitated puppy picture and being indifferent to the miserable life and slaughter of millions of cows. Afghan women are good potential wives. Puppies are cute friends. Cows are good hamburgers. Blacks are good cotton harvesters etc etc etc See this is the dynamic i'm talking about. Morality looks a lot like a self serving thing. And you pointed it out yourself very well; it isn't anywhere in reality. I guess you and I can only be grateful we don't live in an alien invasion context where being a human is a fundamental flaw that needs discrimination.

Hey this is interesting. but if you are not your negative emotions or thoughts, your aren't going to be the positive ones either, they will not be authentic either. so wouldn't it make more sense to say that after all the peeling off, you are left with a neutral state rather than a happy one?

Yes, definitely. Do you have a particular scene in mind? I don' t feel like watching the whole thing but if you can think of a sequence in the series where what you said is illustrated i will be very interested to look at it.
-
I never watched it myself but this is a really nice realization.

Thought this video would be appropriate

Enlightenment is about letting go of the ego; yet here we are all looking for the wonderful prize that is happiness because this is what the ego wants. -
looks like some people still need to find their life purpose
