Fun fact: When I was 15, I got cat scratch fever from the first cat I ever adopted. Ended up 103 degrees, an overnight ER visit, and I needed my heart to be monitored 24/7 for an entire week! The entire experience ultimately made me more resilient, however, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also didn't abandon the cat that gave it to me. I gave it love until the very end of its life.
