I will admit that our community needs to do a better job of managing the way we advocate for inclusivity. Whinily forcing our identities onto others just leads to more resistance and hatred. And we need to do a better job of respecting the sovereignty of mainstream cultures. Ultimately, these changes will happen at a more natural pace if conservatives stopped flat out denying our existence, which is a tactic that will never work in the long-term. The issue I have with conservatives is their black and white thinking. Not all queer people take their ideology seriously.

Don't be so sure about that. I have chronic daily headaches, and I don't need a doctor to diagnose me with that.

Fun fact: When I was 15, I got cat scratch fever from the first cat I ever adopted. Ended up 103 degrees, an overnight ER visit, and I needed my heart to be monitored 24/7 for an entire week! The entire experience ultimately made me more resilient, however, and I wouldn't have it any other way. I also didn't abandon the cat that gave it to me. I gave it love until the very end of its life.
