  1. China has been dodgy with the data of the source of Covid. A leak was necessary so they could release more information. https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/chinese-data-covid-19-early-days-gives-clues-origins-report-2023-03-21/
  2. I think flexibility is necessary for this matter. Taking no bullshit doesn't necessarily mean confrontation. You can simply get the fuck out of the situation or even forgive the person, so you don't hold grudges or feel revengeful, which in itself, is a type of bullshit. Life is more nuanced than "confront every piece of crap you find your way", especially because the world is full of shit.
  3. Suffering is wishing your arm wasn't cut off. Writhing on the floor because your arm was cut off is pain. Suffering is the rejection of circumstances, a common, but not a necessary reaction to pain.
  4. I think you're confusing pain with suffering. You can feel pain without suffering.
  5. You're biased. There are plenty of people that do care about those things, people just don't have the power to solve these issues by themselves. There's also a hidden assumption that once you create the perfect race, they would bother creating the perfect world for the inferiors, or even for themselves. Competency in administrative matters has nothing to do with high moral standards or benevolence. You're just theorizing about the possibility of this said society and assuming you understand people's priorities, even underestimating more than 99% of the population. Just because you like fascism or eugenics, doesn't mean that it is good for people.
  6. The utility of money is not in the object per se but in the ability to represent value. The whole point of having money backed up by gold or silver is that you can't quickly increase the money supply, keeping the currency more stable. With fluctuations in the production of goods, sound money represents better the economic state of the world and allows for more efficient resource allocation. Money is an information system, and the problem begins when you can disturb it by altering its supply as you wish. It is the most intense form of wealth transfer ever devised. We are comparatively way poorer than the average human being in the past, simply because of the financial system we live in.
  7. If you guys wanna talk about suicide and teachings, the standard scientific view of being a conglomerate of mass and energy in a completely dumb universe almost made me kill myself, and in the process, I did great harm to my family and relationships. That's spread out far and wide, without any love or care. It took me years of epistemology and psychedelics to finally break through my limited physicalist view. And that's the mainstream view. When I did that, I came across Actualized.org and Leo never sounded far out or incompassionate, it is just that most people are simply so far from the most basic spiritual realizations and those beyond that, that you sound arrogant when you say that they have no idea what they're talking about. I tell you that they don't. I have had trips that had me disgusted with myself. I couldn't stop crying and seeing how foolish and nearsighted I was all my life. And I'm just beginning my work. I still have plenty of experiences ahead of me. It is challenging work that puts everything you take as truth as an illusion. That's the point of it. It requires looking to the bottom of the precipice of life and leaning forward as hard as you can without falling. Only this will bring you light. As a good Brazilian, I shall share a free translation of mine of a piece of the incredible book "The Devil to Pay in the Backlands" (Grande Sertão Veredas, in the original title), by Guimarães Rosa. That's a poetic description of the truth-seeking work that many people took in life and how difficult it is to do it. Hope you guys enjoy it: The flow of life wraps everything up, Life is like that: it heats up and cools down, it tightens and then loosens, it calms down and then relaxes. What it wants from us is courage. What God wants is to see us learning to be capable of being too happy, in the midst of joy, and even more joyful in the midst of sadness! Life invents! We begin things, not knowing why, and from then on loses the power to continue because life is everyone's collective effort, by everyone, stirred and tempered. The most important and beautiful thing in the world is this: that people are not always the same, they are not yet finished, but that they are always changing. They tune or go out of tune. Greater truth. Living is very dangerous; no it isn't. I don't even know how to explain these things. One feeling is that of the one that let himself feel, but another is of the feeler.*" *(The way that Portuguese verbs conjugate make this last sentence very hard to explain, but it portrays passive observation of feelings versus active search for an emotion/sensation)
  8. You don't. You live your life the best you can and inspire by example. If you're able to handle your crisis well, people notice and naturally ask for advice. That's how you get them, by sharing how you dealt with pain when they're asking for medicine. Until then, handle your own business, because the same people we call stupid have to handle our own stupidity from time to time.
  9. Saying that someone suicided specifically because of spiritual work is a bold claim. When I was suicidal, I wanted to kill myself because of nihilism, but when I got older and integrated some matters more properly, I saw the amount of trauma and other matters that were involved in that ideation, that were condensed behind a "Nothing matters, etc.". The reason for that person's suicide is the reason that took him to start spiritual work. The spiritual work was not responsible for it, this work is challenging but it is healing. It doesn't make you want to die, it gives you the tool for you to finally live. That being said, to anyone reading this, if you're depressed or have PTSD, be aware that psychedelics are extremely dangerous to people with those conditions and should not be taken by them.
  10. The best system for this, in my opinion is the world of darkness series. Vampire and Werewolf in specific is a very deep existential game. I would love to play it again some day. Let's arrange a table hahahahahaha
  11. Use Notion, if you can easily port your notes into it.
  12. I think the political environments are very relevant to this. I live in Brazil. Bolsonaro openly defended without any proof the use of Ivermectin and Chloroquine as a drug to treat Covid, which was obviously stupid in the eyes of anyone with more than two neurons. If those drugs were actually effective, this would be discovered in less than three months and the crisis wouldn't extend for so long. I don't subscribe to any far-right anti-vax conspiracy, but the origin of the virus was something that always bothered me. Something very simple that would have given a lot of credibility for China is the answer to the question of who was the first patient(s), therefore clarifying the origin of the virus, or at least getting close to it. That was crucial evidence for developing vaccines and treatments, and I don't think that China wouldn't know who these people are. When I looked up the covid origin, the two main lines of thinking were the bat-eating contagion stuff and the lab leak theory. Given that Wuhan's Virology Institute has the highest risk rating and its sanitary standards were criticized by some European Researchers, I leaned towards the possibility of lab, although I claim that no one can be certain about this. Given the conflict of interest between WHO and the Chinese government, we probably will never have enough direct evidence of the source of the virus. Maybe some genetic analysis or something in those lines can prove that the virus is lab originated, but I doubt that any agencies or governments have definite proof about this. Everyone who says that have proof is especulating here.
  13. Understanding deeply the intellectual level rapidly accelerates the actualization process. I've had deep non-dual experiences without no spiritual knowledge, just from psychedelics and scientific/western philosophical knowledge. It was that that led me to spirituality and actualization. I live in a developing country and this knowledge has given me significant opportunities and an overall higher level of happiness than people around me.
  14. It depends on your value system, bro. That's what everyone is saying here. Do you think that people are not respectable unless they show you they are worthy of respect? Or do you think everyone should be respected and by actions they lose their "respectability"? Do you think everyone should always be respected? Or never respected? That's basically the only four possible stances. You could also defend a position where men and women are treated differently under this frame, but why do you seek outside insight into this question? I don't see many people changing their behavior towards one another through outside criticism.
  15. The monk that set himself on fire was protesting against religious oppression in Tibet.
  16. Richard Alpert had no spiritual background when he took mushrooms with his friend Timothy Leary. The mystical experience he had led him to the path of becoming Ram Dass.
  17. If you took as many PEDs as he does, you'd find it quite easy to do so. hahahahahaha
  18. That's a pretty low bar. Almost every western woman thinks she's exceptional, and plenty of narcissistic men would equally say so. Probably more like 15 or 20%.
  19. If it wasn't many, it would exclude many, and it wouldn't be infinite.
  20. If you want to learn about women in a more healthy way, you'd watch Denmo, he does cold approach and teaches in a healthy way how to do it. If you want to follow some alpha guys with brains, go for 1st man, Hamza, and Masculine Theory. Business advice? Alex Hormozi is a fucking beast in it and respects other people. You like watching Tate for the teenager's wet dream of hoes & Lambos. Just be open about it, and it won't be as embarrassing.
  21. I'm glad I could connect the meaning with the feeling. Thank you for listening. It's one of my favorite songs.
  22. I knew giga chad was enlightened.
  23. @Alfonsoo I sought spirituality having a mystical experience coming from a materialistic background. I literally experienced myself as the entire universe. I had no idea people used LSD for spiritual work. It helped me with BPD and anxiety. I became a completely different person from it. I actually recommend it for over-materialistic people. If they're minimally respectful to truth, they will discover a whole new way of seeing the world.
  24. This song played on the day of my first awakening. I will translate it for you guys: Dinosaurs Today I feel like As I'm sure the dinosaurs felt When from afar above they saw Illuminated in outer space It came from above Flying over streets and rooftops And seemed to give what they expected Right at the beginning of Western history Yes, perhaps Your imagination Is so limited by real problems Today I feel As I'm sure the astronauts felt When they learned that facing the moon They would not return to Cape Canaveral Flying over Observing the rooftops from above And promised everyone who waited Some pictures of the news in the newspaper Yeah, maybe Your imagination Is so limited by real problems Today I'm extinct I don't even remember what it was like in the beginning When I knew everything that was waiting for me And I believed I was someone special And it seemed that life was just another journey If at one time we were all dinosaurs Today we remain nothing but space dust Yeah, maybe Your imagination Is so limited by real problems https://www.google.com/search?q=dingo+bells+dinossauros+videos&rlz=1C1GCEU_pt-BRBR1020BR1020&oq=dingo+bells+dinossauros+videos&aqs=chrome.0.69i59j33i160l2.2532j0j1&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:54dc6154,vid:Sid37M31gX4
