  4. Seems inevitable. I could see myself taking advantage of transhumanist technologies, especially later in life to improve physical health and cognition. Initially it will probably face significant backlash, mainly from conservatives and the religious, but there's no denying the potential benefit for humanity. We could see genetic diseases or predispositions to certain conditions eliminated through gene-editing technologies. Advanced biotic prosthetics for those with physical disabilities or who have lost limbs. Brain-computer interfaces for those with neurological diseases and mobility issues. One of my concerns is accessibility. Would only the wealthy have access to these technologies? If so, that's going to exacerbate existing divides in society.

  7. @Swagala I've been going through a similar experience lately. I've always had cycles of depression, but recently I had a realization of cosmic loneliness I guess you could call it and I'm not sure if I can ever go back. These days I look forward to nothing and feel immense loneliness despite living with my girlfriend. It's a feeling of everything around me being just imaginary, total solitude with no one to even listen to the suffering. All I want to do is forget and go back to how it was. My mind tortures me daily reminding me that I'm alone, no one exists, and everything is my dream. The best I can hope for is to forget this eventually, or somehow learn to live with it. I wish you the best of luck.
  8. It's gonna be hard to top the chemistry of Hart and Cohle, along with the general mystery and existential vibe of season one. But I'm looking forward to seeing it soon. Somewhat similar is Fargo. Almost every season is great, the most recent one is excellent. Would recommend checking it out.
  9. I heard that to get in to JP's shows you need to have 'SUCKER' tattooed to your forehead.
  10. Introvert. With MBTI tests I always get INTJ and 98-99% on the introvert part. I find being around people, having to socialise and too much sensory stimulation (noises, bright lighting) extremely draining. My favourite place to be is indoors, alone or with my girlfriend, quietly focused on something which is usually reading articles, watching YouTube or playing video games.
  11. This vid is from several years ago, but I still found it quite insightful. FYI, I don't encourage anyone to "pick a side" when it comes to the current Ukraine situation, only to gain a different perspective here that you won't get from almost any Western media. Mearsheimer goes into a bit of the history when it comes to NATO's relationship to Russia and some of the geopolitics of the region.
