Death is a sudden, radical and unexpected shift in perspective/identity, i.e. a rude awakening. Like when you're alarm clock goes off while you're in the middle of a dream. Spirituality is the process of gradually changing your perspective/identity. This would be like waking slowly up on a Sunday. "It's not the fall that kills you; it's the sudden stop" You can't stay asleep forever, so how do you want to wake up?

Goodmorning, so i just woke up after having a dream of something I've been avoiding for a long time. Not only have i been avoiding doing it, I've even been avoiding looking into why I've been avoiding it, and things in general. But this morning was different; i woke up compelled to study the matter. So... avoidance, hiding (something or from something), sticking you head in the sand, having blinders on. Why do we do it? That's what I'll be studying next. Some things to get the ball rolling: Survival mechanism, obviously (it hit me that it's called mechanism because it's mechanical i.e. unconscious). Avoidance coping, procrastination, delaying, postponing, deferring. Escapism, being absent, distraction, diversion, detour. Deliberately overlooking/ignoring the oftentimes obvious (elephant in the room). Acting like something isn't there, sweeping something under the rug. Ignorance, deception, gaslighting, delusion, living in a bubble. "It's not that deep" (i could go off on a tangent on this one). Leo's video: "The Avoidance Of Truth - Why You Fear Truth" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxnV4ymozLw) Ultimately any avoidance boil's down to and is a analogous to the avoidance of Truth. "You can run but you can't hide" - Joe Louis "Fate leads the willing, and drags along the reluctant" - Seneca “That which you most need will be found where you least want to look” - Carl Jung "Flight or fight indicates a permanent choice, but flight often means putting off the fight to another day" - Angus Bumby

Here's a list of eerily peculiar and relatable emotions i didn't even know had a name: https://thoughtcatalog.com/brianna-wiest/2016/02/40-words-for-emotions-youve-felt-but-couldnt-explain/ I want to post more on here, could somebody remind me? I don't how many times I've had and idea for an awesome original insightful post, but didn't bother to actualize it. That's a general theme in my life...

The point is to escape your self-created prison, and the price is all of your delusions. The point was never just to play the human game, but also to puzzle your way out of it. Absolutely speaking it's pointless, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, it's just the way "it" works. Look at the sleeping people around you, is that what living life to it's fullest looks like? Taking the dream for reality makes you attached and scared. -

Thanks for your wisdom Leo

Deceivingly switching between absolute and relative perspectives. The “I-don’t-exist-or-have-control-therefore-I’ll-lay-in-my-bed-all-day” attitude.

Looks amazing, watch out for the animals (if you aren’t already)!

Because I’m about to choose my education and I don’t want my survival to be in conflict with my health. Physical health: + Activity, but not too much as to wear me down in the long-term. + Nature; Clean air, sunlight etc. - Toxicants. Mental health: - Stress, high demands, noise pollution. - Mental masturbation, concepts, symbols. + Social interaction. Spiritual health: + Honesty; Not having to “sell my soul”, deceive, manipulate etc. + Present moment. + Contact with God. My current best candidate is gardener.

A hospital full of drunk zombies wearing party hats and enthusiastically doing karaoke to “Livin’ on a Prayer” in my town in 1941.

So are you saying that when I talk with my friend, actually I’m the friend acting like I’m talking to someone who’s looking at me? That when I’m watching an actualized.org video, actually I’m Leo acting like I’m talking to someone who’s watching a video of me? That when I’m reading your post, actually I’m you acting like I’m writing to somebody who’s reading my post? And that non-existing entity who I’m acting like I’m communicating with is the ego? -
Interesting concept, deserves some research.
-
Interesting, do you mind elaborating?
-
Not the first things which come to mind. But it would definitely give opportunities to help and love others.

I feel like the returns are diminishing. Feel like this is basically running your own business, which I’d rather not. Im this case I’d rather work for an urban farmer and be a “wage-slave” if it means I won’t have to be constantly stressed. Wouldn’t that be more towards the agricultural education? Well where I live landscape gardening (doing work for private people/companies and public work) is a separate education from the main horticulture education, which is more towards greenhouses and nurseries.

Prebiotic and probiotics (bacteria) which you get from fermented foods like greek yogurt or sauerkraut. I suggest you do some research on the western diet, carbohydrates and ketosis. I think you’d be surprised. Once you start eating “healthy” amounts of carbohydrates, things like fruits or dark chocolate will start tasting as sweet as the candy you’re currently eating.

When we get into a negative state we tend to want to find a solution immediately right then and there: “Who’s to blame?!”, “What did I do wrong?!”, “What should I do next time?”. However when we’re in such a state, we’re not in a position to make good quality decisions. Like Leo said; learn to meditate while your angry, sad, afraid and you’ll take much of their power over you away. “Never reply when you’re angry. Never promise when you’re happy. Never decide when you’re sad”

Symbols represent something they themselves aren’t. So meaning essentially amounts to symbolism and representation? Omonkan (symbol) means (represents) pencil (object) Smile (symbol) means (represents) friendliness (object) Money (symbol) means (represents) happiness (object) Crazy how we can get so caught up in symbolism, that we sometimes mistake the map for the territory. -

Reason/Logic is a strange thing indeed. It serve as our barrier against insanity, yet it’s so fragile and completely arbitrary. I mean what is logic anyways? Why is it logical that a spoon falls to the ground when dropped? Why is it illogical to expect my floor to turn into lava? I guess we have to set some arbitrary boundaries, because if one illogical thing goes, anything goes, and we’d quickly lose our minds. Hence why rationalists despise paradoxes. Does all it means to be sane is to have some completely arbitrary expectations? In that case there’s really nothing sane about being sane. -
I’d wish for a life without pain, but then I’d wish for a life with pain, but then I’d wish for a life without pain, and so on ad infinitum

I want to reach my full potential to the point where I’m unrecognizable, like maxing out your character in a video game. Specifically in these areas: biology, psychology and spirituality. I’m not sure if I want to go the cyborg or mystic route, perhaps a combination? Anything else, besides for survival purposes, I don’t really care for. Although I got a lot of karma to burn through. A side goal is to create my own academy to help others do the same.

What’s the difference between being asleep and awake? When does one know that one is awake and no longer asleep? Who is to say that you’re asleep and not awake? Who is to say that you’re awake and not asleep? Am I asleep or awake? How can you tell? Are you asleep or awake? How can I tell? -
