If you had experience with this level of corruption you would appreciate how developed America is. It's hard for you to appreciate this because you've had a difficult life even in a developed nation. Of course bad stuff happens even in the best places. I'm sorry that you got a bad deal in a relatively developed place. That does nothing to reduce your pain. But the really ugly truth is that there are much much worse places than America. As far as global corruption goes, America is more like paradise than hell. That's thanks to development and moral progress. Which is why so may desperate migrants dream of coming to America.

True. As someone from Brazil, I can say this place feels like a hellhole. The U.S. is a paradise compared to here

    Well, thank you.

But it's okay. I like to debate.

It's hard to resist even with this topic because I sense I'm really pushing up against a very all-encompassing false paradigm that's creating a lot of suffering for people.

It's like fighting a dragon that's holding people back from the joy that's possible for them and making people's lives worse.

I likely won't succeed. But I like to fight the good fight.

Maybe you’re right, but I can only speak from personal experience. And every time I overlooked gender differences, it ended badly.

It's not helpful to men to tell them that the difference is only 5%. Because then men never learn that handling women truly requires rewiring how your whole mind works, from the man's POV. When the differece is de-emphasized men start treating women logically and this ends poorly because women cannot be treated like that. I know because I tried, and it took me lots of failure to learn this lesson, which I now share with men.

This is one of the valid reasons that Red Pill and manosphere ideology has flourished: because stage Green views of this issue are legitimately inadequet for men learning how to handle women.

Gender equality is a post-modernist fantasy. And Green refuses to admit this because it's afraid admitting it will lead to less political rights for women. Gender equality in the political sphere is being confused with gender equality in the relationship sphere, where it does not belong.

All of my girlfriends responded most positively when they were treated in a very feminine way for which I had to rewire my mind to work 180 degrees from logical. No one teaches men how to handle the feminine. We have to figure it out the hard way.

Yes, my experience is similar to Leo's. Most women don't really know what they're talking about in this regard, because they have zero experience dealing with women from a sexual point of view.

Can't you find online work while living in Brazil that will give you the salary of the 1st world but the spending requirements of the 3rd world?

Some time ago, I thought about freelancing. Easier said than done. I have to compete with a lot of Indians, for example. Chances are I will spend a lot of time getting good at something and still won’t be able to make a substantial amount of money. Decided to become a doctor and then get the fuck out of here to a good state and city in the USA.

It's not about the country, it's about the specific locations within. There are crap and great locations in most countries.

Country is too broad of a measure for lifestyle. You gotta look for pockets of awesomeness. Even within a city there are crap and great parts.

I agree that countries have good and bad locations. But still, on average, some countries are way better than others. You can't really compare Somalia to Norway. Third world countries are only good for their elites and foreigners from rich countries with strong currencies. Most women will love you too if you are a foreigner because you will be seen as high status.

Take, for example, the state I live in right now in Brazil (Santa Catarina). It is a great state, but it will still be subject to the economic and political instability of a poor country.

  6. Don't fool yourself. Women in Brazil are just more sexually forward with men they find extremely attractive or with Americans, Australians, and other foreigners from rich countries. If you are a native and only moderately attractive, no woman will initiate something sexually with you. We have a lot of incels here. Just take a look at the fertility rate.

Purple people are not really ecological. It just seems that way because they haven't industrialized yet. And eventually everyone either industrializes or dies out.

Industrialization is not a choice mankind makes. It must happen.

So yes, that is an ignorant point.

Yes, you are right. Here in Brazil, almost everyone who lives close to the Amazon forest knows cases of indigenous people who are cruel to animals for example. They just don’t care, they do what is necessary to survive.

The grass is always greener on the other side. US has a lot of problems in its own way. A lot of homeless and addicted people. At the end it is what you value. If you value money and development, and you have a degree, it would make sense for you to go. For me the best is a country that is very developed in tech and economy and still has heart centered people.

What examples of countries would you rather live in? Luxembourg has a passive income visa program. What do you think about this country?

I'm subject to this immigration process myself, An F1 visa is one option if you want to continue studying to get yourself there, and an H1B to stay. Bear in mind that you are not allowed to work while studying, not even remotely, so you should already have money saved up for a year of tuition and living expenses.

I would strongly recommend visiting at least 2-3 US cities just to get a feel of how it actually is, I had some culture shocks and fantasy-busting experiences there even though I considered myself a connoisseur of US culture all my life.

Some culture shocks were also due to the high contrast/differences between what my original culture and country has been versus the US version. So even if me and you were the same person but one of us grew up in Europe and the other in South America, we would experience the US differently.

The only paths you have are basically either H1B or EB2 visa (best visa by far but takes some work)

On EB2 you still won't have permanent residency but you are allowed infinite extensions, and you can stay there for 5 years before needing to extend your stay.

I decided to continue traveling and experience more US culture before I take my immigration process further than it is now, I'm gonna rent a car/van this summer and tour the entire western US likely.

Thank you for your tips and knowledge, it will be useful to me.

You mean traditional engineering roles? I don't know how those fields are doing but software engineer here is not a weak career at all.

I've been to the field and there's still plenty of gold to harvest(especially if you try to go in the IA field too in the meantime); and the best part is that you don't necessarily need a degree to get into it.

    I studied mechanical engineering.

Yeah, seeing that you’ve grown up here, maybe it’s a different experience and you crave something new. You might have a great time in America, who knows?

Isn’t it funny how we just want something different from what we grew up with?

I do love Brazil though, it’s such a special place, unlike anywhere in the world.

You guys like this country because you haven’t faced the things I have as a native. And most importantly, you don’t value tech and engineering as much as I do. I don’t want this for my children. Brazil is way lower on the Spiral Dynamics model, where people really don’t give a shit about truth because they’re just trying to stay alive first. I just can’t stand this place.

Observation: Rio is a shithole, even by Brazilian standards. Lol. You guys are crazy hahaha

    Try Florianopolis, nice city.

Where in Brazil are you? What state? What city? I’m in Brazil, Rio de Janeiro and I do agree this country has problems. It has a lot of crime, it’s dirty and there is a lack of education, but you also take for granted some amazing things about this place which the USA doesn’t have.

I'm from Minas Gerais, where I went to engineering school, but right now I'm studying medicine at a university called UFSC in Santa Catarina (the best state here in Brazil, you guys have to visit it!). It's a great state, but it's still Brazil. I'm tired of this place. I want to go to the U.S. as a doctor or through the investor visa (I will be trying to get this money by investing and working as a doctor).

  13. The USA is almost heaven compared to most countries on Earth. I really want to move to America in the future, America has so many smart people. Another thing I love about America is how much you seem to value technology. As an engineer and now a medical student, this really impresses me, you guys have no idea how disgraceful it is to live in a low-level culture in a third-world country, it's almost disgusting, like hell on earth ( I'm Brazilian).

I had to go to med school because I couldn't find a job as an engineer, years spent on it for nothing. People here don't value tech, engineering, knowledge, or truth in general, and this makes me sick. I think you guys will continue to be the most powerful nation for generations to come.

    Never.

I don't know that these two are miserable. I can see then enjoying their lives.

These two seem pretty miserable but in way too deep. There's no getting through to them at all.

Hard to know what his inner life is like. Seems like he's desperate to be liked by others, but who knows.

@Leo Gura  How are you so sure Musk is so unhappy? I would almost give anything to work with something as cool as rockets (I have hyperfocus on rockets hahaha).

All these people get lost because they never developed an epistemic foundation. So they are easily blown off course by the forces of epistemic corruption -- algorithm capture, auduience capture, chasing fame and success, religion, etc.

If you don't have an epistemic foundation, nothing grounds your mind. You are a hollow vessel for whatever mind virus de jour.

What are the best ways to develop an epistemic foundation?

What is the alternative? To act like this work isn't difficult?

The Buddha's core teach was that all of life is suffering. No one whines about the Buddha. But when I say this work is hard, then people somehow make it about me.

    It's not about me.

You guys have no idea yet what degree of suffering exists in the world. You live in a cocoon of comfort and spiritual fantasy. Life is harder than anything I say.

You are underestimating the harshness of life. I am not overestimating it. What is truly arrogant is thinking life should be easy.

The reason I didn't respond to his points is because he has been on this forum for years, always stubborn and closedminded, never willing to learn from the good advice given to him. Always with a negative attitude, insisting on his own bad ideas.

I tried to help him many times with genuine advice, and he never accepted nor appreciated it. So I will not waste any more of my time responding to him.

Making this about me it the final straw.

Do not waste and abuse my time here. I pour so much of my energy here giving serious, genuine advice. If you guys abuse it and then gaslight me for it, I will start banning such people. And when you post your final fuck-you letter here to justify yourself, I will not even waste my time reading it, never mind responding to it.

If you do not want to do hardcore difficult work, you should not be speaking to me. You should be working so hard at developing yourself that you come here crying how difficult it is.

I live in a third-world country, and I can tell you guys that life here is fucking brutal! A lot of people here would give up one of their arms to be American.
