  1. No.. I probably would have forgotten about it. There is a quote from Alan Watts that I really love and that kinda fit here „You own it to other people to be as selfish as you are.“ So don’t say stuff just to make other people happy that isn’t true because they will rely on you. I am just scared to not please other people I guess.
  2. Water fast is not the magic pill that will help you to your dream physique. You will only get there with time and consistency. (weight training, healthy diet with enough protein and calorie reduction).
  3. Would it be a problem if we link sites that just talk about sourcing ?
  4. Dude why so emotional ? I put 1000 calories of each into Cronometer. Yes the food you suggested is incredible nutritious but what’s the point in going above 100%? For some nutrients especially when it’s an animal source that’s actually unhealthy. You see it when it’s marked red. This whole grain wheat bread looks pretty nutritious to me if the goal is to reach 100% in every nutrient. Plant sources never give you the "full package“ but mix it with food from other food categories and you are good to go.
  5. Kinda. I have a dad but he is less confident then my mom most of the time who isn’t that confident. He got crippled in his childhood when people didn’t let him express himself. That’s true. Everytime I felt I had abundance I didn’t care so much anymore because people could be replaced. Of course you want to have deeper friendships but party people come and go. I give the book a shot, thanks! Also good points.
  6. In the age of social media, Netflix, video games, etc. many people developed an incredible short concentration span. Most people recognize how bad it affects them and although I feel like most are addicted and wouldn’t be able to stop their consumption that easily I think there begins to be a nieche for consumption material which doesn’t have these negatives traits. Maybe I could create children movies or something like that that can be recommended by pedagogues for being better for children developement then regular movies. So I thought about what it is that kills our concentration so much. Irl there is also a lot of input, maybe even more but why doesn’t this affect our concentration? Maybe there is a psychologists in this forum who has a deeper understanding of this? This is a very minimalistic episode but it is still entertaining. Idk if it is also available in Englisch though: Or in general late night shows for example I think are also lighter on your concentration because there are actually real people with normal movements. I heard that it also makes a huge difference if the camera moves and zooms in for example. If the camera is just steady all the time it’s a lot less taxing. This would also mean that films that switch scenes all the time are a lot more taxing then films that don’t. Do you have any good or bad examples of content that is really taxing or very untaxing when it comes to concentration? What do you think are the determining factors for why something is taxing or not taxing on the concentration?
  7. YES In my childhood I always loved to do little creative handicrafts like making a little functional backpack out of paper for my playmobil male or different badges for rewarding learned skills in my scooter crouw. But 3D printer are out and AI will probably manage those jobs in the future. And it’s not like I can’t remember stuff. When I am really passionate about something I can soak up an incredible amount of information in a really short time (like when I started playing Pokémon online and remembered every pokemons name, stats, attacks, typing and so forth in no time). But with all my effort I couldnt even learn the names of the 16 states in my country because I cared so little about it. So passion is everything for me. Everybody remembers things better when they are interested in it but for me it’s more black and white. So if I were truly passionate about medicine for example which is incredible learn heavy I am pretty confident I could do it. But I am not so there is no chance in hell I could do it. Math is okay and philosophy isn’t that much and also pretty interesting so it’s okay. But I will definetly take the LP course this semester break and see what comes up.
  8. So I have many flaws when it comes to my intelligence which immediately stick out. I have ADHD and sometimes fail to understand super easy stuff. And it also doesn’t help that I am not interested in many things people talk about like politics, stars, history, important events and so I just don’t have a lot of general knowledge you can triumph with in social settings. And because of that there are a good chunk of people that I met in my life that think that I am as dumb as bread. I know I am not dumb (maybe average) and I heard the opposite also quite a few times and I graduated high school with pretty good grades without that much effort, did something like an intelligent test where I was a bit above average and stuff like that but I am still doubting myself quite often and there is still a lot of fear in me to look like a fool. And I think it influences me unconsciously quite a bit when it comes to career choices for example. I study math and philosophy to become a teacher and maybe I only chose math because I know that most of society has a lot of respect for mathematicians so this way I would always have an "intellectual backup“ that guarantees my ego to identify as intelligent when worst comes to worst and I make a fool of myself. I know that this fear to look stupid is way to big in me to simply let it go. So I thought about if there are games or techniques that train your intelligence. I thought about chess or something like that. Just a little fun hobby. Just something to have that I am not that dependent and therefore bias in my career path. But there are many different forms of intelligence so I am curious to know if something like chess even trains a broard spectrum of intelligence or just hammers on a certain kind of intelligence.
  9. There are quite a bit of topics that I find interesting about society and life but only when it goes in depth and you analyse the deeper psychological or philosophical issues behind these things. I am just not interested in “facts“ if that makes sense. And many people only exchange “facts“ which drives me insane. It definetly makes you more focused and more energy efficient. When you can only focus on one thought at a time instead of constantly being distracted and loosing track of that thought then of course you will think more effectively. But it’s not like your have a faster car, its just that you finally took the hand of the handbrake so your car can finally drive at max speed. But I guess it’s the same as having a faster car with handbrake on so it doesn’t matter.
  10. That’s the one I have: https://www.amazon.de/AmazonBasics-Mehrzweck-Dampfdrucktopf-elektrisch-gebürsteter-Netzstecker/dp/B079LNTDQV/ref=sr_1_18?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=20B8SCV250OUN&keywords=Instant+Topf&qid=1658155145&sprefix=instant+t%2Caps%2C1413&sr=8-18 1) I can’t cook veggies in mine. Even with the lowest time and least pressure all the vegetables turn into soup. So my strategy is to just throw frozen veggies into the mix of cooked grains/lentils and let them unfreeze and it works but this is not ideal. Does anybody have a pressure cooker that doesn’t cook that strong? 2) I don’t know how to flavour my grains/lentils. I always put a block of veggie broth into it which isn’t even that healthy but I don’t know what else to do with it. Any suggestions?
  11. THAT: I randomly came across that video like 6 years ago when I was still in school. I didn’t understand a word intellectually but I felt like something way deeper something with incomprehensible beauty was being said there. THIS was my little acorn seed that began my spiritual journey. I haven’t studied many spiritual teacher besides Alan Watts and Leo so idk how good Alan Watts is compared to other ones. I really like his way of “teaching“ although he didn’t call himself a teacher. He just throws incredible ideas out there and focuses mostly just on the quientessence and he has the flow and charisma to communicate a feeling next to his ideas so you naturally inquire about these things. Leo is definetly a lot better in making sense of it all but lacks the charisma of somebody like Alan Watts. To be fair all the other spiritual teacher that I saw pale in comparison. He is definetly great to throw within the mix if your spiritual journey to keep things light.
  12. Yes but it’s not clear that Leo only excluded these. Bread, pasta and rice can be wholegrain and potatoes are literally the best diet food. All different kind of studies independently found out that potatoes have an absurd high satiety index (satiety for the amount of calories). So that’s what kinda triggered me. Oh and also it’s about the the kind of fat source as well. Raw almonds for example will keep you full for way long the let’s say peanut butter > oil > refined fats.
  13. You can way easier overeat on fats then on complex carbs. Sure fruits, veggies, lean proteins are king for saturation relative to their amount of calories but complex carbs like legumes, potatoes, rice, whole grains, etc. are also great and filling. What is that carb hate about ?
  14. It has a psychedelic effect and relaxes you but on the other hand it makes you kind of lazy and dumb…
  15. In my reflections nobody is really after meaning. We only want the feeling of meaning. We ask ourself the question of what the meaning of life is when our life’s don’t feel meaningful anymore. They never had a deeper meaning to begin with but they felt meaningful. When somebody connects back to his self made life purpose for example, so something good he can do for the world then his life feels meaningful again. If it really had a deeper meaning it would even suck because it would make everything so serious. But so when weed distracts you from your life purpose then everything can definetly feel less meaningful which can feel very bad although of course there never was a change in meaning but that doesn’t matter.
  16. I kinda disagree. Gym people often don’t choose bodyweight exercises but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t make similar gains with it. I think it’s more of a convenience and preference thing. There are incredible difficult bodyweight exercises where you can’t do a lot of reps. Ring flies or archer pull ups for example. You can’t tell me that a chest workout consisting of ring flies, chest dips and (elevated) push ups is less stimulating then a workout with dumbbells and machines. You cant increase weight directly unless you buy a belt or smth like that but you can increase the volume by making more sets, more reps (giant sets), (increase the difficulty of the exercise) and stuff like that. For legs the gym is probably better. But still when somebody can do many pistol squats his barbell squat will probably be advanced.
  17. I have done 10-15 low to mild doses of magic truffles (and one strong dose) and a mild dose of lsd once. So I am kind of a newbie still. I definetly have much to learn from these substances but I want to go way deeper and I don’t feel like magic truffles or lsd suit the purpose for that at least for me. So out of these three with which should I start? (Or should I even do them at all with my experience level?) I would start with a very small dose and step by step slowly increase the dose.
  18. I study philosophy and right now we have the topic of AI. One of the questions that often comes up is is AI conscious or have feelings? The people that make AI are materialists most of the time, so they argue that brain activity and states of consciousness are directly connected. So when we could recreate something similar to a human brain we must have a conscious state because a conscious state is just some material process manifesting itself. At least that’s what some of them think. But they didn’t study philosophy and one of the big problems in philosophy is the mind - matter dualism which basically says that there is the world of conscious experience and there is the objective material world. We know that there is at least some connection between these worlds because when we scan the brain for example and see activities in certain parts of the brain we can make pretty certain predictions about how the person is feeling. But we can’t see the DIRECT TRANSITION from the matter world to the mind world. We can get infinitely close in our predictions of what physical process will lead to which conscious state but these worlds can’t merge so the predictions can’t be more that a GUESS. So when we would recreate something similar to a human brain in AI we actually have no clue if this thing is actually conscious or not. Then the solipsism argument often comes up, that we also have no idea if other people even have conscious states or if they are just mindless robots. 1) The argumentation then is that this is ultimately of course a possibility but we have good reasons to believe that humans and animals have states of consciousness because they are biological creatures just as us and we have consciousness so it’s reasonable to assume they also have consciousness. 2) Furthermore the conscious experience of a human or an animal would be created in a completely different way because biological creatures create themself and have an intrinsic goal to survive while AI doesn’t and is created by others. You could program AI to have certain survival instincts like finding a source of electricity but these instincts are there because ”somebody told AI to survive but it doesn’t actually care itself if it survives or not“. 3) Another big argument against AI being conscious is that AI is just completely determined. If you search deep enough you can find the root of every action of AI in its programming. Humans on the other hand are not determined, they have free will. 4) And as a last point AI doesn’t have a taste for art, music, enjoyment, humor, … while humans do. I dont agree with many of the points about AI not being conscious. Because we as humans might be good at judging what and what doesn’t have the human conscious experience but this also disqualifies us to judge whether or not something has an AI conscious experience or not because we couldn’t see that because we are humans. Just imagine a ship of conscious AI robots came to visit earth and they found us human creatures. They think that earth is a good place for their basement but also have some ethic considerations of whether or not it is okay to kill these weird creatures. They say to themself „I am conscious and I am AI, these human creatures are so different from us so it seems to be highly unlikely that they have the same conscious experience as we do.“ And they are right but there is the possibility that humans have their own unique conscious experience. And I also feel like we humans are more of an accident. Materialistically speaking, I didn’t create myself, it was the will of nature. And I don’t think I am free. My whole life is directed by unconscious motives that I didn’t create. I am like a puppet walking through life and the game that this puppet is playing is that it’s real, that it’s not actually a puppet. So I don’t really see a difference between me and AI when it comes to the determination argument. So the more I think about it the more I believe that AI might actually be conscious. I feel like this is a problem that could only be solved when you step outside the materialistic paradigm so my hope is that I find my answer an answer in this forum. Would love to hear your opinion.
  19. I do like 40 just to get my blood flowing. You have to challenge the muscle. Some sort of single leg squat is good. You don’t have to be able to do a pistol squats there a variations that are a lot easier. But there are also hamstrings, glutes, calves ? I don’t know what is healthier but if you don’t overtrain and do good technique both will be beneficial to your health in this regard because it strengthens these things. When I do some really heavy lifts like squats or deadlifts I sometimes can’t sleep well because my central nervous system took a big hit. That won’t happen in calisthenics as easily which is a plus for sleep. Are you vegan? If the 200g of legumes are pretty much your only source of protein that’s not ideal. You have to mix it with grains to get the full protein. Optimal protein intake for muscle building is 1g/pound bodyweight and for vegans 1.25-1.5/pound of bodyweight which sucks ass I know. You can also build muscle with less but it’s not ideal. No problem.
  20. I am vegetarian to that’s great ? Never even thought of making curry in it, don’t know why. Should I also eat raw veggies? I just can’t believe that veggies turned into soup have all the vitamins as fresh ones. Some of them get destroyed in heat and I feel like in an instant pot they get super destroyed. Is that even healthy ? ? It’s definetly a nieche and I actually haven’t found that much. Thanks for the tips. What’s your yt channel ?
  21. @Michael569 I trained for 7 years now and can only do 6 pull ups. I do them very strict though and I have long noodle arms but still ? Genetics I guess. So the possibility that these movements become to easy at one point didnt accure to me. If your setup is a bit more then just the minimalistic stuff you will never be to strong for it though. Just think of Ring flies or archer pull ups/ single arm pull ups..
