  1. That’s amazing. How long did it take to build up to 4 hours? Did your body learn to block out the pain/ interpret it differently or did you sit for like 3 hours in pain( assuming the first hour or so is pretty easy after you are in a routine)
  2. Yes that makes sense, and I don’t doubt you live “ there” much more than I do. I used to listen to mooji because his guided meditations put me in effortless peace. But it doesn’t translate continuously into everyday life. Much like how I could use this to end suffering in a particular moment. How do you deal with suffering when it arises ? The actual problems in your life? Obviously living life with the goal of not suffering at all will eventually produce enormous suffering unless you are financially kept and can simply avoid most discomforts.
  3. And we need to be in a meditative state, on drugs, or a realized “Buddha” to see it as a fluffy dream. It can just as easily be a nightmare. There is still suffering in this dream, so really I can only see your post as semantics. If anyone wants to tell me how to live in this unified conscious dream for longer than it takes for the cid to wear off, or me making a deliberate effort to shut my mind off with meditation ( which I get peace from and not any revelation) please , that would be great. Even Leo admits he still has obligation, stresses, and desires, just like a normal suffering person. I do appreciate the response , I just don’t know how that view is beneficial. How did your life change practically since this epiphany?
  4. what do you mean that all people are imagined? you’re saying that a body subjectively experiencing the “ one consciousness “ isn’t a person? has your mind truly merged with God? And you know better, or? honestly it sounds like you are misinterpreting the Bhagavad Gita, and implying that you know this from experience is preposterous.
  5. I tried to create a topic about this a few days ago, it’s the only thing I’m currently interested in after trying everything. As I’m no longer interested in experiences that can’t be replicated in a sober state , no matter how “profound.” the thing is , if you are sitting in decent position, your body is not going to be in any danger of harming itself. For most people, they will stop because the pain becomes so severe, it feels like you are causing injury. If you sit through the excruciating pain, which fortunately comes in waves and isn’t constant due to endorfin release, you can get up after a two hour sit with no numbness or pain of any kind. Thus the excruciating pain basically meant nothing and was a creation of the mind. This is obvious logically, but to have that experience is pretty valuable, because the extreme states , including the pain and mini highs is ultimately illusory. im trying to build up to very long sits to see what the monks see, but it is so much more rewarding than regular meditation , I doubt I’ll ever meditate in comfort again. It also forces me to meditate properly, because if I let my mind wander it will inevitably convince me to stop. You must either focus on the pain , which paradoxically helps, or the void or pure awareness/ whatever you want to call it. I’m betting that once I build up to 3 and 4 hour sits, it’s going to re contextualize how the body interprets emotion and not just physical pain, and will thus be extremely valuable ((the first milestone referenced by the op is basically that even during the meditation the pain often completely subsides for long periods of time. This feeling is extremely empowering … like where did it go, was it even “real
  6. Looking for a description of someone’s sits who had/has a successful practice. I’ve found it very difficult to find anyone who has used determination sitting to “ conquer” their pain response and just sit for 4 or 5 hours or more. I know there are tons of people who make a claim that they can(not on this forum) and I don’t doubt many monks do it with ease, but I can’t find anyone talking about it that actually does it. There’s a few YouTube guys who claim it’s the fastest way to enlightenment, but offer no description of what precipitated being able to sit as long as you want. Very curious to know about what happens after 2 hours ( seems like that’s the max for most people including myself, and if I’m being honest I can’t go more than 90 minutes without squirming or cheating a bit) and the benefits they saw. I’m aware that almost nobody does this, as it’s extremely painful, so a link to a video or anything would be much appreciated. Thx
