McDonalds is awesome....until you realize that is the only thing you can afford to eat. Then you realize how damn unhealthy the food is

If Brian Rose does believe in what he preaches, then I feel like its not a bad idea to test the waters with a mayor who has a holistic view of life. I feel that this is especially helpful in tacking issues like the city's constant fight with knife crime.

Hitler was definitely evil, but he was not the only anti-Semite/racist of his time. In fact, hatred for Jews has existed in Europe for pretty much thousands of years. After the crash of 1929, there was this notion that the Jews were responsible in about every single western country. From the US, to the UK, to France, there were those who dedicated their careers in being anti-Semitic. In fact, there was the British Union of Fascists founded by Oswald Mosley, which had a pretty intense following throughout England in the 1930s. Hitler just took this anti-Semitic sentiment in Europe and made a killing machine out of it, literally. Even Hitler's whole racialist philosophy, nordicism, was inspired by the american eugenicist Madison Grant. Oh and speaking of eugenics, that existed throughout the western world well before Hitler's rise to power, with America being number one in it. So its not like Hitler all of a sudden injected this antisemitism/racism in society. I would say that he is still evil in that he exploited the existing extreme hatred for Jews by creating a killing machine (concentration camps, death camps, etc.). (In fact, one could argue that more Jews died during the pograms in the Russian Empire/Soviet Union)

To give some context, Daunte Wright (the black male) was stopped for a traffic violation. During the stop, he was dragged out of his car by two police officers, and was being restrained on his car. I guess some fight or flight response kicked in, and he ended up fighting the police officers and getting back in his car, in which one of the officers tries to restrain him again, this time using her taser. Problem is that she ended up not using her taser....but her gun instead, and shot Daunte several times. The local police department decided that the best action was to put her on "administrative leave", which I think is not the right consequence the officer should face. She should be fired and charged with manslaughter. If a doctor "accidentally" kills his patient by administering morphine instead of an IV, does he get put on administrative leave, or is he fired and put on trial? I also do think that this is a 100% racial profiling issue. If he was white or Asian, he wouldn't been dragged out and restraint for a fucking traffic violation. The response by the police needs to fit the crime. What are your guys thoughts on this?

@vladorion agreed. In America, the average training is just a few months. In Germany for example, cops have to go through training for two years. Considering that America is the most violent, crime-ridden developed nation in the world, it would make sense to make police training longer and more intense. At the end of the day, police are public professionals. Any average Joe should not be able to join the police force.

I understand that, and I personally think that he should not have resisted. But what you need to understand that him resisting was a result of a natural reaction people have to situations like this, fight or flight. Its been proven. In this situation, he knew he was going to die either way....which he did. That's the problem. And also her using a gun instead of a taser is not her simply being "sloppy", its her not doing her job correctly. The whole point of police training is to be able to handle situations like this, and if you can't be work under situational pressure, then you should not even be a cop. If a firetruck driver accidentally ran over a civilian, him being "sloppy" isn't an excuse.

She intended to use her taser, not her gun. But what's sad is the fact that a traffic stop lead to this in the first place.

How do people generally feel about Sadhguru and his "inner engineering" videos? I personally find his wisdom helpful, almost on par with Leo's...but I do feel Sadhguru has a tendency to sometimes sneak in or justify Indian cultural/religious dogmas. What are your thoughts?

@Preety_India Honestly, be straight forward from the start. If your friend says or does something that you find offensive, tell them then and there. If they still say offensive things, then you should dump this friend.

This is some DEEP stage blue, but with an IQ of 30.

So I am currently a senior finishing up my degree in Computer Science, and I still don't know where I want to end up in the field. I interned at the same company during all my summer breaks during my time in college, but I feel like sticking to this one company limits my options. On one hand, I am guaranteed a job at this place, assuming I contact them again, but on the other hand I feel that my knowledge in the industry is rather limited. In this company, my work was mostly limited to front end web development (building front end components using Angular to be specific), but I am also interested in other fields, such as backend development and technical architecture (this is like product development/management). And because I limited my experience to front end development, I became complacent and lost my motivation to challenge and pursue higher goals. I used to go out of my way to work on personal project or improve my technical skills, but now I use that time by binge watching tv or doing other non-productive things (and worst of all, I beat myself up for doing this). Over the years, I went from being a highly motivated student, too a rather lazy and unfocussed one. And now, with job/internship applications, I've lost all confidence in my technical skill, leading to me not even apply to some of these companies. I used to have this creative instinct when it came to writing code (for work and school), but now that all went out the window, and I almost always do my programming assignments just to finish and get a grade on them. It got to the point to where I even stopped practicing my existing technical skills, and forgetting a lot things I used to be good at, i.e. Angular and Java. How can I bring that creative inspiration I used to have back? Can I still pursue higher goals in my career even after joining and working at some mediocre company? Or have my dreams of working at a top company/creating a start up have been shattered?

Even though its rather old, I feel like the following video is the perfect clash between stage orange/blue, and stage green. Really entertaining to watch:

surprised Tenant didn't make it

Yes....but of those homicides, black people make up the majority of the victims. There are A LOT of issues that lead to this statistic. The problem is black people make up 30% of police shootings, while being only 13% of the total population. And while white do make up a larger portion of police shootings, this is simply because whites are the MAJORITY of the nation. Whites make up close to 75% of the total population, so more police shootings of whites simply reflects the fact that there is a much larger portion of whites. Does this study you bring up take into account UNARMED victims of police shooting? With black people, the proportion of police shooting victims is more than double the proportion of the total black population. Do black people still commit more crime on average, yes they do, but there are much larger systemic issues that create these outcomes. This is not a black and white issue (no pun intended), but rather a larger, systemic one.

@Logan thanks brother

@Epikur But that's religion in general, right?
-
It actually surprises me how so many people commenting on this topic are ignorant about Islam. Leo made a whole video about this topic: If you guys actually watch Leo's videos and actually digest the information, you should know that ALL religions originally formed for more or less same reasons. As individuals who want to increase consciousness and seek Truth, we need to go out of our way to really know the facts and most of all, truth about something you don't know or have a natural bias towards. Islam being an inherently bad religion is not truth, but rather your OPINION. Opinions are not the same thing as truth, as something never inherently is good or bad. Islam is essentially just what it is. A tool used by people in what we call today the middle east two-thousand years ago. A tool that many people found self-improvement with. Just like Christianity and Judaism, or any other religion on this planet for that matter.

So recently, I was having sex with my girlfriend, and this was the first I was having sex (penetration to be specific) in general. Everything was going great, as we were kissing and performing other sexual acts. The problem came when it came time for penetration, as I was too soft to even penetrate. It was rather embarrassing at the moment, and had to come up with an excuse saying that "masturbated an hour before". As I am only 22 years old, I know the problem can't be ED. But is this normal? How can I prevent this from happening the next time I have sex? I apologize if this post is rather explicit, but assuming that this forum is consists mostly of adults, I am going with the assumption that this topic can be discussed in a mature and constructive way.

I'd also like to add one thing: try not to mechanize the whole process too much. If you come across a chick who you find attractive, just approach her! I'm also relatively new to pick up (dated before, but never picked anyone up) as well, and one thing I found helpful on this journey is when approach a really hot woman, or just any woman you personally find attractive, try not to put her on a pedestal. She's not some special creature, or the queen of england....she is very much a human with imperfections just like me and you. Don't feel bad that you are attracted to a particular woman, even in public. When talking to her, give her the subtle social cues that you are interested in her, and see where things go from there. If she plays along, and some tension is created between the two of you, let that tension determine where you go. If it gets awkward, or if there are awkward moments between you two, just push through....allow the awkwardness! And since your objective is not to sleep with them, you will not come off as needy...which is great!

@Michael569 I'll check it out

@Micheal569 I don't have barbells, and all the gyms around me are closed. You think I can accomplish this by doing push ups? (I do around 50-100 a day)
-
In that case, why not? Assume you just took a heroic dose of shrooms/acid/DMT, and after a while you are taken to a different (maybe higher) level of consciousness. Now let's say that you have the realization that everything, all the social constructs you are used to - including rationality - are just part of a larger illusion. Once you realize that, the boundary between what's real and not real, what's rational and non-rational is gone. And after five hours into the trip, you see Gabriel, Micheal, or any of the biblical angels. Now tell me if they are real or not?

@Jennifercelebra BIG time. They even have pure CBD gummies at some medicinal shops. Really effective in easing anxiety symptoms (though not 100% a cure).
