  1. Yes! ? I would describe it as the less self there is the more universal the love becomes. ???
  2. It's thoughts which you hold as being true. There is an emotional component as well. If the belief is questioned there might be anger or fear for example. You've probably experienced this in a heated argument with someone. Question the thought. Is it actually true?
  3. @DavyTee In most people there is a deeply rooted feeling of unsatisfactoriness/unhappiness. When that is met it starts to dissolve and underneath there is stillness, peace and happiness. Knowing that it's all awareness won't make you happy. But if you meet those negative feelings you will eventually dissolve them and move into higher feelings which will lead to happiness.
  4. If you pass out then that may be a sign that you're overdoing it. Are you following the recommended duration of the practice? In my opinion this should be treated as warning signals. It might be positive though but it might also be a sign that something is seriously wrong. Personally I haven't used that method but I have some experience with letting go, the sit with the feeling way and never experienced passing out.
  5. If you're interested then check out Adyashantis book "Ressurrecting Jesus". It starts with the awakening when he was baptized by John and the Enlightenment when he died on the cross. It does not mention his life after the ressurrection though which would have been interesting to hear Adyashanti speak of.
  6. There are many maps of consciousness and the path like david r hawkins Map, The ten oxherding pictures, The four stages in buddhism. Jesus life could also be seen as a map of it.
  7. @Kyle Gjerseth Only if the prayer is used as a way to deeply listen.
  8. If you focus on any of your senses are they not in constant change? Like the arising and passing of a feeling or the intensity of a sound? A thought coming and going. You can put focus on something fixed like a wall and that will feel constant but if you put focus on the change instead then something might get revealed.
  9. From where does sound appear and where does it go when it fades away? All appearances are impermanent and are born, change and die. Nothing is constant. It's all duality Life and death Being and non-being Existence and non-existence Duality and non-duality What seems to be constant to you? That is what the ego is holding onto as the self
  10. From what you're saying below I'd say it vanish into unawareness or unconsciousness. To become aware, in lack of a better word, of that do the practice. Yes, you're on to something here. ??
  11. @catcat69123 Yeah it's a great book which has helped me as well.
  12. Hello fellow human being! ✌??
  13. That things are just happening and that it's unknowable is also a perspective which one is true?
  14. ?? To me it seems like existence is constantly changing and non-existence is constantly constant. ?
  15. Yes, it goes somewhere but before realizing where the sound seems to just "vanish". As you practice this you will see that the sound seems constantly changing but there are places where it disappears completely just as it seemed like reality was dual before realizing it was one. When you are melting into oneness you are putting your awareness/focus onto the infinitely large (edit: or rather letting go into the infinetely large is a better way to put it) but here I am asking you to put your awareness onto the infinitely small. Yes from an objective pov energy doesn't disappear just transforms into something else. It's good that you're sceptical. Im not asking you to believe what I'm saying is that you can realize something by doing the practice. I'm not sure what you mean with unconsciousness and non-awareness can you put it into context?
  16. @johnlocke18 Yes I agree. ? But they are two aspects of the same one like the head and tail of a snake both is the snake.
  17. Spiritual factions emphasize either God or nothingness and then they go to war with each other over which aspect is the right one. I'm glad we can keep traditions alive here. ?
  18. Yes, that is great if you are still dieing into this. This is what I'm trying to point to, the investigation of constancy. Is there such a quality? The ENDING of all sensations.
  19. I use time in the pointer but the pointer doesn't point to time. ? See if you can spot the experience of sound vanish into. Does that pointer resonate better with you?
  20. We could say the experience of it. What word would you use? Because the mind can't imagine what's being pointed to perhaps. ?
  21. The words born and dying are pointers to what is. Nothing really is born or dies yes. Apparences are only appearances but that is not what I'm pointing to here. The appearance of time is only possible because of the timeless. From where does the thought come from and where does it go when it end? It's born from the unborn and dies into the undieing. Or if you prefer from where does it arise and to where does it pass. It can be examined and realized if the willingness is there. It seems so but it arises from moment to moment from unexistence.
  22. @Judy2 You can't stop the thoughts and they are no problem, they are simply what's occuring and they are what's causing the suffering. It's more of a disconnection from the thoughts and watching them.
