  1. Yeah that's a good description. ? In your example thought seem to control feeling, in others it seems like the feeling you have is the basis of what thoughts arise. When thinking of a snake fear (feeling) might arise. When seeing a snake the fear (feeling) might arise which then produces thoughts of what to do to deal with the snake. Maybe there isn't one or the other that is "controlling" but just the body as a whole which is reacting to external and internal stimuli?
  2. The authetic self is no self. Authenticity in doing feels natural, there is no struggle to do it so it's effortless.
  3. That doesn't seem wrong to me but not all feelings are reactions to thought. In what way do you think that it's bullshit? ?
  4. You could try sitting with the feeling of desire in the body and feeling it fully. It will bring equanimity to it.
  5. Indeed. You will get different answers depending on where on the path people are and they aren't necessarily right or wrong. It's simply their interpretation of their experience. Thoughts and feeling have different levels of impact depending on how identified one is to the thought or feeling. Identification is believing that it's true. If you are identified to the thought "there is something wrong with me" you might look for what's wrong. If you don't identify with it will arise and pass without any impact at all. If you identify with the feeling anger in a certain situation you might yell and scream. If not then you'll still be calm. These are of course very simplified examples so the best is if you investigate this yourself. The human body is hooked up to grasp things that give "positive" feelings and push away things that gives "negative" feelings. So in that sense feelings might not always be the best guide. If one looks for that which feel true then yes feeling can be a powerful guide.
  6. No the feeling doesn't say anything, the feeling just IS. It's thought that says that feeling says it aligns with the thought or not. All interpretations comes from thought. Thought judges the feeling. Good and bad doesn't exist without a thought. Thought evaluates another thought by the feeling that comes with it. If the feeling is "bad" the 2nd thought judges that the 1st thought was "bad". But there is no "good" or "bad" thoughts or feelings without the thought that it's "good" or "bad". Yes feelings doesn't mean anything, feeling just IS. What would be the value of thought if all meaning was illusiory? It would lose all power it had so of course it says "that's not it". ?
  7. Non-dual after realization because there no longer appears to be a separate self looking out from the body, rather seeing appears within the self. Yeah there are differences but different like waves in an ocean is different waves but the same water. In essence the banana and computer is the same beneath the appearance of them.
  8. There's probably not a cell left in your body that hasn't been replaced by new cells since your birth. Does that mean that you has been replaced as well? Or is there something that you call "I" that has been left unchanged?
  9. By the way you phrase it it sounds like you think awareness is something but it can be hard to convey such a subtle 'thing'. It's more like a no-thing. Yes it is a false claim because that which says that "I am aware" is a thought. Awareness doesn't speak.
  10. Do you prefer coffee or tea?
  11. Yes there's nothing wrong with desires but they do seem to fall away with time. Wanting to get rid of a desire is also a desire. ? I would describing a desire coming from a place of lack. Where you believe something is missing and in order to feel complete you need to gain the desired object. Instead of desires there seem to be an intuit knowing of what to do in each moment and it comes from a place of completion. There won't be any gain of happiness or anything else because happiness is already here and everything is already complete.
  12. If there's hunger I eat and if I'm tired I sleep. That might sound boring but it's quite joyful to let the body decide where it wants to go and what to do.
  13. Can you describe your normal state and how it effects you? Is drinking alcohol a way to relieve the pain that come while being in your normal state?
  14. Yeah, forcing yourself to let go of attachments would be an attachment to the idea of non-attachment so that doesn't work. ? To be all over the place is fine. It can even be a wonderful thing if you can allow it to happen.
  15. And do you think it's possible to go back to sleep? Can you undo the seeing somehow?
  16. You see what thoughts and feeling come up when people treat you bad and you inquire into them. That way you dissolve those patterns of negative thinking and "bad" feelings. There's a chance that your goals are tied into the same patterns of thinking and feeling so by dissolving those patterns your goals start to feel unimportant to you.
  17. Yeah that sucks. The human is hooked up to feel pain and fear to let it survive which was helpful in the past. Now it seems like it's mostly a hindrance. Have you tried to sit with these feelings, feel them fully?
  18. @KatiesKarma Sounds like you experience what most people experience. What makes it unsettling?
  19. For those who wants yes. You can always go further on the continuum but that's not for everyone. Some may want to stay where they are and let it deepen right where they are. Ultimately we don't get to choose what we truly want. ?
  20. @Sugarcoat Yes, that's usually what happens when beliefs fall away. You feel disoriented and look for ways to gain clarity. ? So maybe your spiritual practices doesn't lead to an "increase in awareness" or maybe they do. Do you enjoy doing them or would you rather do something else? Embrace the not knowing and ask yourself what feels true for you and it might be revealed.
  21. It's hearing something spiritual like "there is no self that can do anything" and that is taken in as a belief which the ego is formed around but the realization of no self has not yet happened. To put it in other words it's the discrepancy between a belief and your experience. Another example would be "it's ONE" but it's still experienced as being a separate self that is looking out of the body. Stalling out spiritually and in extreme cases your life falling apart. The best is probably to have a spiritual teacher which can point this out. Or others with experience of it. It also takes honesty and wanting truth above all else. It's probably hard to avoid it completely. It's so common on the path especially after the first experience of oneness or no self. The ego forms around the experience and creates blind spots. Don't take what people say as an objective truth but rather a description of how they're experiencing it. Truth is how YOU are experiencing it right now. Connecting to your experience will lead to deeper knowledge and realizations.
  22. It takes a thought to know that "everyone on this form" this or that, wouldn't you agree? And what is the feeling underneath the thought. Anger perhaps?
  23. It's been around 5-6 years before I learned about spirituality but the seeking if truth started earlier. Zero No meditation in the classical way but meditation happens on the bus to work or in the sofa at home or whenever the time for it occurs. It's not better or worse than before the journey started but it's wonderful. Start with investigating what you are experiencing right now and continue your investigation until..
