  1. @Shambhu what are the benefits to awaken kundalini? Will all awakenings awaken this energy? What happens at the end of a kundalini awakening?
  2. Yeah, if you're aware of that you're doing good. As a suggestion, take some time off trying to understand the implications of this and just connect deeper into the present moment. Be the aware presence and let the thoughts and feelings just come and go.
  3. This is all you need to wake up. See through the illusion of thought right now. There is no brink of awakening, that's just another hurdle that the mind puts up to prevent awakening from happening.
  4. It seems to me that he is trying to help. I'm just telling my view of it. From your view maybe you could look at the part of you that feels insulted by this.
  5. @Michael Jackson I think it's good to point this out but maybe not point the finger at specific people. If you truly want to help them them perhaps the better alternative is to engage with them and help them see this one on one.
  6. I don't think there's a right answer to that question. ?
  7. That depends on what you want. If you want truth then hedonism is probably something you should avoid and focus on your feelings instead. If you want pleasure then hedonism makes perfect sense but don't think it will give you any long term happiness.
  8. You could try a practice which you implement in daily life such as a mindfulness practice. This will help you tap into your true nature more and more until all of life is lived from that place.
  9. Exactly. I'm not at all for renunciation but I understand that it might sound that way. The difference is that it's not based on lack or need of that thing contrary to desire. As a pointer I'd say that everything is complete right now, if it doesn't feel that way then let go of that feeling.
  10. ... and then got back to sleep
  11. Not all actions are based on desire. You might desire a money, a car or a girlfriend end but that's quite different than eating when you're hungry or sleeping when you're tired.
  12. Yes, I sometimes get that feeling and long for eternal rest but other times I experience a great fear of believing that I'm going to die and then I resist. Oh the irony. ?
  13. I would say that the formless beyond time and space. Form might come to an end but the formless will not get impacted by that.
  14. Yes good point. A big difference between the thought "I am God" and the direct recognition of God. It's like a character in a movie would say that it's the whole movie. Each character has a part to play but none of them are the whole movie. Ultimately God is silent, it would never occur to God to proclaim it is God.
  15. Yeah, I'll guess it only adds confusion by using that word so I'll stop using it.
  16. I think it's great that your willing to see these flaws and take action toward healing. Shaming is more negativity which creates a neverending loop or in the worst cases it ends in self hatred and suicide. Letting go of these feelings will instead create a neverending loop of positivity into love and self transcendence.
  17. Did you watch the video? She explains it well.
  18. @Shambhu we can say that a thought or sound exists but can we say that 'something' which has no characteristics exist? When the thought or sound passes it goes back into that void which is why I call it non-existence.
  19. Yeah I agree. It's probably minds interpretation of it since it can't go there but it really doesn't matter what you want to call it. We can call it 0 or void or coca-cola I guess. ?
  20. Yeah I get that alot. ? The mind certainly can't think of non-existence anyway.
  21. There would still be consciousness/awareness even though there would be no phenomena. The words nothingness and consciousness points to the same thing or the same no-thing which is non-existence.
  22. Yes definitely. Which is why energetic work is needed after awakening to cleanse the body of unwanted thought/feeling patterns.
  23. Yes. There's definitely a learning curve to this. Depending on how much ego falls away it might be unavoidable.
  24. Once you awaken you realize that everything you thought was real was just a dream. You thought you were a separate person living in a world with other separate persons. Some of that illusion falls away on it's own but some might still be left after the awakening. The awakening and the time after can be a really beautiful time but at some time there might be difficult feelings creeping into experience. Fear, anger, shame, you name it, can still be a part of everyday experience. These are parts of the illusion which haven't fallen away on it's own and will take some conscious effort to dissolve. For example there can be fear about the implications of the realization itself which you start to run from. How one might ask? By running from the fear. You distract yourself by doing things that make you forget. Gaming, watching TV, reading books. This takes honesty to see. It's like when you're dreaming at night. You might have a nightmare of a monster who is chasing you. If you knew that it was a dream you would know that you would've nothing to fear because the monster was created by your own mind. So how do you deal with the fear about the realization? You face it because there is actually nothing to be afraid of. The fear is the monster itself. By meeting it and feeling it fully it will start to dissolve. The same is true for anger and shame. They are the proof that you still believe parts of the dream. Inquire into what beliefs you hold onto that makes these feelings manifest.
