This is mainly for Leo but I would appreciate any opinions: I’ve come across Actualized recently. I’m busy with family life and don’t have time to go through all Leo’s videos but would like to watch a few that are really transformative. I’ve done a reasonable amount of this work in the past. I’ve just watched the ‘guided exercise for realising you are god’ video and it was fantastic, just the sort of profoundly life changing stuff I’m after. Unfortunately I’m epileptic so can’t take psychedelics - so any psychedelic-specific stuff wouldn’t be too useful for me. So what would be a good selection of say 5-10 of Leo’s videos that would be the most spiritually powerful and transformative?

@BipolarGrowth Brilliant, thanks for that .

Thanks & good idea, but after work, looking after kids etc. that's precious meditation/practice time. Having such a busy life, I have to spend pretty much all the free time I can get in meditation or other practice to make progress. Before bed and first thing in the morning is especially important to go as deep as possible. 5-10 videos would be perfect so as not to have a huge amount to watch. I'm pretty on the case with the practical stuff so the deep spiritual stuff is what I'm looking for.

Ahh so my question still stands, I’m looking for just say 5-10 of the most spiritually transformative. I really do wish I had time to go through that whole ‘best’ list, but alas my life won’t allow it.

Thanks Leo, although there’s still around 200 videos in that ‘best videos’ section. Are they arranged in order of ‘best’ - i.e. the best of the best are the top few rows of page 1?

This may well be a question no one here can answer - I’ve searched the net looking for info but no luck: I have occasional epilepsy and was wondering if anyone here knows if 5-Meo lowers the epilepsy fit threshold? I’ve heard that people have had seizures on very large doses of 5-Meo, but no info on regular breakthrough doses. Would anyone have any experience with this?
-
I’m yet to try 5-Meo but would like to use it to assist awakening at some point. I’ve heard many times that it’s common to go through intense fear/terror before breakthrough as the ego tries to hold on. What’s the best way to soften the blow and make the ride easier to breakthrough? Does this quickly get easier with subsequent experiences? I’m assuming that you get used to the process and breakthrough becomes easier with practice? Cheers.

Great advice everyone, thanks so much.

Thanks - this is very helpful

Thanks, this is very useful - I was wondering that - although wouldn’t it be a good way to get used to the effects before going for full breakthrough? Good to know people do it for recreation. Thanks to everyone - I think the general message of not getting caught in a self fulfilling idea of fear is spot on.

This is a great video - it seemed to me that the ceremony helped him approach it in the right way with surrender & that helped him break through straight away. He did inhale a hell of a lot & held it in for as long as possible! I wonder if it’s actually better to do it that way rather than approaching it in a more gentler way, which may make it harder to break through?

Hi all, I have no experience with 5-meo dmt. I’m looking to approach breakthroughs in the calmest, gentlest way possible, taking as much time and as many trips as needed to eventually break through, increasing doses in small increments to achieve this. I really like Leo’s approach of plugging to avoid an overly sudden, overly intense immediate hit - sounds much smoother. So the ideal route for what I’m looking for might be plugging, starting on a very low dose & successively increasing in small increments until breakthrough is eventually achieved, perhaps leaving at least a week in between each attempt. I know you can get into a bad experience by going over the top too quickly - but I think I read somewhere that you can actually get a hellish experience from not doing enough too - i.e. when not quite breaking through. Is this true? And if so, does this mean it’s not possible to break through on 5-meo without going through hellish experiences at some point, even if you’re as careful as possible with slow increments etc?

Thanks Leo. Do you have any tips to make the journey easier? Someone suggested vaping at a low temperature so you can take many successive small, relatively mild puffs in order to have precise control over the onset up to breakthrough..

Thanks

I’m retiring early at 50 & am spending the remainder of my life concentrating on waking up. I have some experience with meditation and being profoundly in the moment to the point that the illusory mental construction of the ‘world’ and other places/people etc dissolves. I have further go in many areas however - for example I want to achieve a much greater level of equanimity. My question is: Do I follow my own path completely or make the journey of starting watching Leo’s videos from a few years back until now, absorbing and integrating what I can? I feel going it alone might be a more pure approach avoiding taking any unnecessary concepts on and getting bogged down - just pure presence and deepening awareness. Maybe some carefully considered 5-Meo experiences when I’m ready. On the other hand, I might miss some valuable insights by not going through Leo’s videos. I’m good at achieving deep states of presence, but I’m not a great thinker like Leo - he’s covered lots of areas I’ve never explored. I’d be very grateful for any feedback.

Some great advice on the thread, very grateful to everyone. Thanks Moksha, this resonated with me very much, I’m going it alone. It suits me best, I need to concentrate 100% on the path and any other voices will distract me.

This is extremely useful, I can’t thank you enough
-
Great answer, thanks - I’ll consider the option of the videos. Although having been in the hectic property renovation business, all the complications of bringing up my disabled daughter and reading about spirituality/non-duality for my adult life, what really appeals to me personally is to drop all concepts and follow the (non) road of constant one pointed effortless presence to the point of 100% absorption. Can full awakening happen this way, or is some kind of inner investigation necessary to some degree?
-
Interesting, thanks guys. So in that case it seems that to some degree, the horror side of things may not be able to be avoided. Does it get easier each time? So at some point, can you just go directly to the non-dual experience without the fear?
-
This is absolutely perfect, thanks. I can see that this would logically be method with the most accurate control. Is it possible to get to the point of breakthrough this way? I’m wondering if by a certain point, one might be too debilitated by the effects to continue vaping? Can I ask what model of vape you’re using? I’ve always used the volcano for herb, but the chamber would be much too large, so I’m assuming the chamber would have to be pretty small for 5-Meo?
-
I’m thinking the same - I’m 50 now & have been interested in spirituality all my life. I’m thinking that if I don’t embrace 5-meo now I’ll never experience non duality & be prepared properly for death.
-
After some thought, I’m looking at an alternative possibility as well: The attraction of plugging is that the effects come on more gently than smoking/vaping and the effects last longer. But as a novice trying my foot in the door, I prefer the idea of shorter experiences at first so if I have a bad experience it’ll be over quickly. So my question is: is there a way of imbibing 5-meo in small steps to have a very fine incremental control over the come-up? I’m assuming one would need a sitter in this case to help administer.

Thank you @breakingthewall, great advice. Sounds pretty horrendous though ?
