@Leo Gura You got me. -
BUT LEO! You told me I have to get involved in politics again instead of having my head stuck in the sand. I was a patriotic American, I let go if it, I hated my country, I embodied no identity, and then I had an awakening and I realized that America is a huge part of my (God's) creation. I mean it is pretty fucking great. The mountains, the variations in climate, the miles and miles of coastline. I could spend my entire life exploring and not even know a tiny fraction of it intimately.

But LEO!!! We are all part fool and part wise. That's how compassion works. It's looking into the eyes of another, the eyes of yourself. I get what you mean though, inspiration is the way, love, passion, desire for truth is everything. Sometimes people need to heal their hearts before they can tap into that though. -
The problem is only when you make an enemy that you blame which is almost always done with Nationalism. Since my last awakening I have reclaimed my patriotism that I foolishly let Trump ruin. America is a great country. Americans are not superior to any other, but for myself I love this land. My roots are here, my ancestors are buried here, a small fraction of them were Native here. My grandfathers fucked up their lives royally in WW2, I'll honor them for that. I'll fly an American flag, and I'll celebrate the 4th of July. I'm not going to let some mislead president make me ashamed of my own country because he can't understand that American can be great and equal at the same time.

@Leo Gura We all suffer though. This work is about going from suffering to bliss, or it's about trying to find the truth and realizing that everything is a lie. Seek and you will find. For me it has been equally both. I desperately wanted truth when I was a Christian kid. Then I decided it was all a lie, that truth couldn't be found and I went into material things, which caused me to suffer enough that I went down a road that lead me here, to "truth." The difference is the intention, the story they tell themselves about why they are doing it. In the end we don't really need a story, but to begin we need a why. I guess it's like the boat you don't need anymore once you've cross over. -

Try it with your eyes open or half open. -

It's challenging to teach the law of attraction to people who have already decided it's bullshit and have been turned off by false positivity. There are so many personal development teachers who make people want to puke because of the way they embody phony positivity. That's one thing that you do really well as a teacher, you appeal to people who see through the bullshit of it. But there's still a challenge in making people feel authentically cared for, first you have to truly care for them but some people are so used to being insulted that they take still love as an insult. There's science behind the way we rewire our brain with positive or negative thinking but people still choose to reject it. You create with your thoughts. You get more of what you think about. If you think you are addicted to food, you will be. If you think you are depressed you will be. I guess that's why present moment awareness is such a good starting place for people. It takes the stories of addiction and depression and mental illness and dissolves them without having to use logic. You don't have to convince someone their story is false, you only convince them that the present moment is the only thing that is true. Even in teaching, the law of attraction is necessary. You can never focus on what someone lacks and also give them what they need. You have to focus on what they already have, the perfection that they already are. And that's the definition of love anyway, right? -

We just need to start a fire and bring in some magical forest animals and cleaning fairies to spruce it up a bit. -
There is no law of unattraction but get what you think about so if you think about what you don't want all the time you get it. I'm not sure if that's what @now is forever means. I think she just means he has turned himself orange.

I really liked what you said but I keep getting the sense that you hold yourself back and don't express yourself like you want because you don't want to take the necessary authority to do so. You think it's a trap. That's why you feel they way you do about Leo.
-
There's no post from you before that one? What video are we talking about critiquing? I'm talking about you critiquing Leo's original video.
-
Where?
-
@tsuki "My god, I wish I had the strength to debunk this guy. I wish I could be bothered to write a better critique of his critique. "
-
Oh, I keep forgetting, you're always above it all.
-
@now is forever It's the same problem as trying to locate the "you" in your body. The problem is that people are trying to repress their reactions and projections, rather than just letting them flow and letting true connection arise. So as long as you repress, or react by closing up and getting defensive, the same shit will arise again and again. It will until connection is established.

Just watch the first few minutes of Emerald's video.

You have an enormous light shadow.

Criticism is how we connect with people. If I give you a compliment you say thank you, then the conversation ends. If I criticize you and you engage with me to defend yourself, I get to know you better. We criticize just because we feel disconnected and are seeking connection. Maybe we even create the flaws we see simply for this reason.
-
There's a kind of positive mistrust of direct experience that is Nirvana I think. It's neither trust nor mistrust.
-
It does help if it is done with awareness on both parts. The person pointing out the flaw should be conscious that they are making a projection as they make it. Even so when you point out something to someone and you don't want to hear it, you still do. I went to an art forum full of liberal artsy middle aged women and tried to talk about my right wing politics with them. Within a few years they had won me over. No one goes through a conversation where there is vulnerability of some sort and comes out unchanged after.

You listen with your whole being. Try saying what you won't say first.

I was going to take a picture of a perfect apple and before I could, my three year old stole it and took two bites. And it seemed fitting so I went with it. So that's what happened there. -

I don't think we get to choose. I think choice is only an experience/illusion of this life. That's just my guess. -

But I just realized that I don't WANT to be a snake eating it's own tail. Goddamn it, where's the rewind button? Is this thing on a loop? I'm getting dizzy.
