I'm energetically messed up from traveling and need to reconnect but there's lots of stuff spinning around to write down later.

I agree with this to, you don't necessarily have to disagree with either point of view. Truth is a paradox, eventually everything is seen as true until the mind is stopped. Meditation can be a powerful tool to make you aware of the things you need to work on/focus on when you aren't meditating. Mastery of focus on what you want is not repression. As strange as it sounds, deep shadow work can actually be exhilarating.

It's ok to take medicine when you are sick and expect improvement. The key is to focus on what you want and to find things to enjoy about the meditations. Focus on states that you do not want to feel will make them more of your experience so if we pay attention to how we feel and appreciate the states we do want to feel, we will have more of them.

The Devil will be thrown into a lake of fire. Now that's a paradox.

@Jg17 Brilliant, you took it further than I did. We wrote all those rhymes, legends and childhood stories, God is the author of it all. The Truth is... it's all Fiction. What fun to wake up to the dream together and continue to dream it.

Leo chooses to speak about nonduality in a very dualistic way sometimes. It's kind of brilliant when you realize that nonduality includes duality itself, and often what blocks us from realizing it is our belief that the nonduality side is the only true side and that nonduality can only be taught in a certain way.

Christians call people who study mystical stuff "cults". Their definition is that anything New Age, or slightly woo woo is a cult. They are usually quite materialistic and don't go very deep with their faith. Christianity for most acts a sort of "fire insurance," it's an easy way to cover yourself from the fear of death and hell. It's not usually questioned much. I grew up Baptist and we always talked about the other denominations like they were evil or mislead. Pentecostals still speak in tongues and have a lot more open mindedness to the spirit realm, so we thought that they opened them up to demon possession. Christians do believe in demons, and the supernatural but everything from that realm is either angelic or absolutely evil so it's the greatest thing to be afraid of. My Grandfather told a story of a girl who visited their Baptist church from a Pentecostal church and in the middle of the service she started channeling in a man's voice and saying "LISTEN, MY CHILDREN". He was a deacon and him and the rest of them grabbed her and took her to the church basement as quickly as they could and she scared the ever living crap out of the entire congregation. Knowing what I know now, I feel so bad for that girl. They do try to control more and more aspects of people's lives, sometimes pastors in the congregation creep their way into controlling families. A lot of damage is done but not really physical violence. That doesn't mean it doesn't or can't happen somewhere though.

@seeking_brilliance "A New Earth" is great. I love how it starts with the metaphor of how flowers evolved, and then exploded to include most of the plant kingdom. We're definitely seeing the flowering of human consciousness now.

@Natasha Almost everything about goats is just surreal. I challenge anyone to really look into a goat's eyes and still think that reality is "real."

My daughter has been listening to Bible school songs on youtube recently, thanks to me getting the impulse to sing "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands", a few days ago it has since become something she really likes and asks for. Today she asked for the "Hello, I'm Crazy" song. Which took me a minute and some questioning to figure out she meant "Hallelujah", "Praise Ye the Lord."

@Leo Gura WOW! I've seen white deer but didn't know there were albino moose. I did meet the moose who pooped on my starflower, occasionally moose get meningitis and lose their senses. I was running on the trail and didn't see her until I was about 6 feet from her, and I had so much zen presence of mind that I screamed in her face. She just kind of head butted at me but never touched me. A few weeks later she went up to people's houses so they called a game Warden and he shot her.

If you were raised up in Christianity you'd know the doubtful thought that washed over you every now and then, "What the fuck are we going to DO in heaven? It sounds so boring." The best answer I ever got was that God might let us become some kind of angel, (think aliens) and we would be allowed to screw around with other people's flawed planets. If there's nothing to "fix" there's nothing to do. If there's nothing unwanted there's nothing to want. The beauty of creation is the beauty of duality. Oneness transcends but oneness includes separateness itself.

Symbols are a way in which duality starts to collapse. They are a visual form of synchronicity. Symbols can spark insights, give guidance or just be purely fun and reassuring. Often they are like a present from the universe, (like an Easter egg hidden by you, for you to find). All you have to do to see more of them is become more aware of what you see, have an open mind and have faith and understanding that you create your reality. You know how when you start to notice a certain model of car, you start to see them EVERYWHERE? We were always told that that's how the brain works, it sorts through lots of information to only notice what's important. While that is still true in a way, nonduality and the knowledge of how your thoughts create your reality changes that phenomenon to something much deeper and more profound. Symbols are a way that we can see glitches in the illusion of reality and start to see through it. Study and really understand the law of attraction, (I really recommend Abraham Hicks!) and you'll see more of anything you want, whether it be symbols or anything else.
