You're thinking of it a bit backwards. Mental illness is a possible path to enlightenment. OCD becomes integrated as intuition, etc. Even Alzheimer's and dementia are mystical transitions.

Long term solution, use personal development and spirituality to learn to open up with yourself and others, then the relationship will flow as it should or end if it should.

@Zigzag Idiot I ordered it, the sample on Amazon seemed quite readable. For what I can glean, there's a difference in paths, kundalini energy being different from the path of "light". It also seems very tied with feminine and masculine energies and what paths are needed to integrate them, what's the missing piece of the puzzle so to speak? The first time I sat down to meditate I was pregnant with my daughter and I closed my eyes and almost immediately had a strong insight, "I am light." I didn't meditate much at all after until recently.

Last night I had an experience of being immersed in golden light, everything was yellow. I can't remember which happened first but I woke up and the skies opened up and poured for just a minute. Mary has been coming up in my life a lot too. I have an antique portrait of her right next to me because I bought it for the frame years ago and then after a recent awakening realized that she's a perfect and beautiful depiction of open heart and crown chakras. I was taught Christianity through a Baptist lens, and to us, Mary was mostly just a random woman who gave birth to Jesus. But she represents something, she is a pointer. The virgin birth, the birth of a male to a female represents the balance of masculine/feminine energies resulting in awakening.

The process of enlightenment could be described as opening your mind and heart to include the entire world until the mind sinks into the heart and there is no world, no inner, no outer. This is an attempt at explaining anyway. You cannot open your mind without opening you heart and vice versa. I'm confused about the difference between the mind and the heart. Ramana Maharshi says that the ego, the "I" thought originates in the heart and the thought travels up to the mind where words, language and story are applied. I always tended to demonize the mind and think that the heart was pure in comparison.

You are creating your reality, the law of attraction explains how to make reality work in your favor through your own awareness. By practicing the law of attraction and observing how it works you learn that you are creating your reality (enlightenment). Abraham Hicks, (Esther Hicks) is secretly one of the best teachers out there. You might not think so because so much of her work seems like it's appealing to people's low consciousness desires, and often we can moralize and think that we are way above her teachings. She teaches on a level that almost everyone can understand. If you've spent a long time studying Buddhism or other spiritual teachings, she will likely give you a lot of epiphanies if you can keep an open mind. If she is talking to someone about how to manifest a successful business just use the same wisdom she gives and apply it to enlightenment.

You're a beggar sitting on a box of gold and you don't realize it. I don't mean that you should meditate and find your true nature, though yes, you should do that too. I mean this forum and everyone on it is worth more than gold. Do you know what an amazing opportunity it is to communicate with people who have an understanding of non duality? Jesus said to his disciples "Love one another, as I have loved you." Yes, it's true that love doesn't always seem like love, sometimes love is a reprimand.
