  1. Getting enough protein if you're vegetarian or enough carbs if you're low carb? Getting a moderate amount of exercise? Getting outside, getting enough sunlight? Try some cold exposure?
  2. The universe already takes care of you in more important profound ways than your mind can ever grasp. Kind fo like you don't think about every breath or your organs functioning. Working is how most people's survival gets taken care of. The means makes no difference, but a lot of them think they are working and are responsible for taking care of themselves and feel the weight of that. You can only become conscious of what's already occurring. Then circumstances may naturally change, or not.
  3. The mind was never a fixed thing, so there can never be a perfect model of mind. All diagnosis of the mind is the mind looking back at itself, it's very biased self diagnosis in a way. Even when other expert minds are making the diagnosis, the illusion of separate minds calls the shots and believes it is an actuality that must be maintained. So while mental illness can be painful, debilitating, and seeking treatment can be the best decision, ultimately it's really a window into what is prior to mind. "There is a crack in everything That's how the light gets in"
  4. I have a man like that, who easily fits all those qualities, been with him since I was 17. It doesn't matter if someone fits all the qualities you say you're looking for, your mind will still find major things to complain about. A lot of being in a relationship with anyone is to pay attention to what you want, don't give any thought OR resistance to what you don't want. If you're going to make a list of what you're looking for, only list what you do want, because by thinking you're also attracting into your experience all of these things. The universe does not differentiate between what you don't want and what you do, it just shows you what you think about. So focus your mind through the power of meditation and see only that which you want to see. Good luck hun, and good luck with your healing. Don't making healing a prerequisite to enjoy what you've got now, let it occur on its own as you focus on the things you want and love. Aim to live in relationship like it's your first time together ever and also like today is your last day on earth together.
  5. devil is lived spelled backwards and life is a dead end. We will have to go back and account for how we cut ourselves off from ourselves, and we will see in fact that we are the devil, and created ourselves as we did the devil. There's a higher place to go, beyond belief, beyond belief Where we reach the next plateau, beyond belief, beyond belief And from faith to faith we grow Towards the center of the flow Where He beckons us to go, beyond belief, beyond belief Leap of faith without a net Makes us want to hedge our bet Waters never part until our feet get wet There's a deeper place to go Where the road seems hard to hoe He who has begun this work won't let it go (let it go!) They were right though, you certainly can't lose your salvation. So what's to fear, really?
  6. Whatever you find it to "be" it's not what you thought it was. One person's revelation is another's cliché.
  7. None of them are about anything really. There's nothing lacking. Hope can be the assumption that something is lacking, the glossing over it to look for happiness in the future. Each teacher has a unique way of pointing to something, people come from all different directions in their tactics to point. What you REALLY want, what you really are looking for, is not just limited to peace and happiness. It's not limited at all.
  8. Yes. You should not be in the present. I apologize for that. No teachings are above another. The present moment is a powerful pointer, but it can at times become a block or cutting off of oneself. There is no present moment, so therefore no real disconnection from past or future, even though there's no past or future either. That's not Eckhart Tolle's fault or anyone else's. It's not your fault. You go with what you got, you fall, you mess up, reevaluate, and you get up and keep going. All language is both deceptive and guiding. It's inevitable, and part of the fun.
  9. I read the book. If you're not sold on the advertising, I don't think you have to buy the product in order to be able to judge it, if we put that as a prerequisite to judge something for ourselves we'd fall into so many traps and miss so many things that are freely available along the way. Of course to be fair, I'm can only judge for my own purposes based on my own desires and not for anyone else's. I've found Jim Newman to fit in perfectly with Rupert Spira and Nisgardatta's teachings.
  10. Option A. Blame kids in Africa for their predicament. Option B. Blame idiots who believe in the Law of Attraction for not being compassionate. Option C. Envision health and well being for kids in Africa, and be open and looking for a way to act to help, when one appears as it will inevitably, act on it with joy and enthusiasm. Option C is the actual understanding and utilization of the Law of Attraction. If there were really separate selves, and cause and effect, we could blame or credit them for attracting their circumstances. But there aren't, so we cannot do that. What we can do is focus on creating a life and world that we want in our experience. The only thoughts we experience are ours so it is up to us to align our thoughts with what we want. If we blame someone for their thoughts, that's just an unaligned thought of our own.
  11. If everyone knows that everyone is intimately them, why don't they just go and kill each other? It is the very Knowledge beyond concept (Love) that everyone is you.
  12. I don't believe in oneness and unity or division or separation or good or bad. All is appearance, duality. What if God is SO good that he still speaks to people directly, including you and you never had to outsource your authority or connection with God in this way. I mean, what else is the Holy Spirit? Don't you trust that inner guide and resonance to guide you? How can you live your life and make everyday decisions if you outsource credibility to scholars who lived and died hundreds of years ago, who you never knew? You'd have to put God in a box somewhere and set him of a lofty shelf, to keep him safe and untainted by all that you see, do and think.
  13. No perspective, not one though. Not two, but that doesn't mean one.
  14. We aren't separate beings with individual minds who share a world, we are shared being itself. Mind is open and borderless. You and the friend both share the same consciousness, mind filters consciousness into the tree, by creating subject and object, the experience of "your" mind filters/ imagines it further. Both minds filter it into a tree, but he can say it's ugly, you can say beautiful.
  15. control (v.) early 15c., countrollen, "to check the accuracy of, verify; to regulate," from Anglo-French contreroller "exert authority," from Medieval Latin contrarotulus "a counter, register," from Latin contra "against" (see contra) + rotulus, diminutive of rota "wheel" (see roll (n.)). The word apparently comes from a medieval method of checking accounts by a duplicate register. ContROLL with it baby. Oh man, my daughter literally just rolled out my yoga mat. What synchronicity.
  16. Because this one phenomenon, that THIS here appears right now, is so utterly inexplainable and impossible, that anything else that happens within this is also both so utterly inexplainable and so impossible... and YET so common and seems to be so well known it can even seem mundane. It's like if my dog came over and spoke in English, "I just crapped in your bed" and I was like "Oh, my GOD, not again" overlooking the impossible phenomenon that he just spoke English to me. That's what we're like when we talk about mystical experiences. I mean, yeah they happen, but how can we explain them if we can't even explain this?
  17. No one can corrupt a religion. There is no such thing as religion, there are just individuals with beliefs, and not even that. If you were very familiar with Christianity you'd notice that the denominations within one religion are vastly different and distinct in their beliefs, and even the individuals within those denominations are vastly different and distinct. And if you go into the individual itself, their own thoughts and beliefs are vastly different from one another. What they say and do is a reflection that may have little to do with their true inner being. And so religion is just a thought occurring now and has no substantiality or meaning and never had meaning.
  18. The word phenomenon is derived from the Greek words 'phainein' meaning 'bring to light' and 'phainesthai' meaning 'to appear'. Oh my fucking God, it's a computer screen.
  19. He manifested the entire book and experience as one seamless thing. He did manifest himself out of the camp, that's the whole point of the book, why did some perish and some survive? What is survival, what is life about, what is purpose? Man ifestation starts with a man. If you're gonna play the part of human you gotta learn to manifest to break the manifestation you believe you are. Are we human? Or are we dancer? I mean.. manifester? Original thread title is right. It IS absurd.
  20. There's no difference between the two when you get down to it. Nothing anyone needs to balance. Some people start out with Jesus and some start with Tony. It's all good. "Ask, and it will be given to you." Most already believe and accept that the past effects the now, but that the future does not. The future effects the now as much as the past. But because the future is unknown, we don't want to go there. We'll stick with the familiar even when it's awful.
  21. I still have a problem with transactional spirituality. Someone's guidance and time are valuable resources that money can sometimes be exchanged for everyone's good. But RASA seeks to quantify and sell what is like the light of the sun. "Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth, 'You owe me. ' Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky." - Hafez I admit that I have deeply naïve and romantic ideas about what spiritual communion should be like. I envision that it would be like going to a Thanksgiving meal, potluck style, bringing with you your favorite specialty dish to add to everyone else's, and you would sit and share and appreciate and there would be no thoughts of payment, or who owed who. Or I suppose you could skip all that and just go through the McDonald's drive through. I feel like we're going through an awkward time where that's all some have access to.
  22. Yeah, it's just me being me. Trump is just me being me. I really didn't want him to be president four years ago, but the universe couldn't hear the "didn't" part. Goddamn it. If I was writing a story, my characters would have lots of gray areas and deficiencies so I could highlight an unconditional love that transcends my brilliantly colorful characters. Guess what's happening? Just that. The book Man's Search for Meaning is the ultimate example of LOA in practice. The universe wants to push you to TRUE satisfaction, which is unconditional love. Go beyond the ideas of physical manifestation, suffering and feeling good and it becomes much clearer.
  23. @electroBeam I am partially concious of how and why I manifested Trump, you, and a the moon as much as I'd want to be. I deeply love all of you by the way. I wouldnt want to demystify the universe. But I do want to take creative initiative in some areas. The appearance of influence and free will all just deepens the mystery. LOA deepens the mystery rather than demystifying anything in my experience.
  24. Every possibility is created first in thought and with the belief that it's possible. Only then can it become manifest. I cannot give you a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie unless I know what they are, can envision them, and believe that I can make them. I've experienced really weird freak things happening to me because I obsessively worried about them happening a lot. And I created a weird niche job that everyone told me I wouldn't be able to pull off, but I was too busy creating to think about that. By the time I learned about LOA, it was like, oh hmm, that explains a lot. If you prefer the Law of Apathy instead, the law of attraction will work to uphold that in your experience just the same.
  25. Don't read Jesus's words with your logical mind, read it with your creative dreamy mind. Claustrophobia is only so common and horrific because we constantly must project ourselves outward. We can't stand to stay in with ourselves. Matthew 7 starts with this, 7 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. 3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
