@Leo Gura I don't think it only looks one way. But how many different ways could it really look? When I think of a sage/mystic, I think of a wise person who is devoted to discovering and living the Truth, and sharing their insights with others via teachings, books, lectures, etc. Isn't that what every sage has done to date? Think of Yogananda, Swami Vivekananda, Gandhi, Dalai Lama, Rumi, Ken Wilber, Peter Ralston. @Rhinosaur What do you mean don't get hung up by it? What if it's my Life Purpose or domain of mastery to help others become wise? -
@Flowerfaeiry That’s cool. Have fun on your journey ✊

@soos_mite_ah Sounds great. Good luck on your journey! Also I realised that I came across that old post from here lmao. Completely forgot while I was writing ?

Me too ? @Flowerfaeiry Are those in order? How long have you been an artist for?

While I haven't experience Truth myself, I can just intuit that it is profound. I can't imagine anything more fascinating to be doing than working on realizing the Truth. Why am I here? What is this? What is Reality? Why this experience and not something else? Doesn't everyone ask these questions? I mean it seems like reality just popped out of nowhere doesn't it? - Actually, as I'm writing this, I remembered that most people genuinely take it as truth that they came out of their mother into an "objective reality". But how come no one questions it? I am projecting my own biases and interests onto others. But it's just amazing to me how not everyone is interested in this work. Maybe, at everyone's deepest core, they desire Truth? They just don't know it because they chase illusions disguised as such.

I don't know. For all I know, maybe you are, maybe you aren't. But the same goes with every other "enlightened person" out there. For example, I believe that Peter Ralston is enlightened because I have given my authority away to people who say he is, and the notion of what constitutes an "Enlightened person". That's why it seems like he's enlightened to me. But this "seeming" is constructed from ideas and concepts I picked up. -

Also a separate question I wanted to ask you @Nahm is: What books on Law of Attraction would you recommend to read and - if worthwhile - in what order? -

@Nahm How can I understand what desire is? No. Things just arise in experience. When I walk into the room next to me, form and appearance change, but I am still experiencing a now. I don't know. Yes, it is a complete assumption. I have no idea whether every single person I encounter is already awakened or not, it just seems that way. -

@Nahm What is the desire? Where is it coming from? It is just arising in appearance. A desire for Truth is arising in experience, but from where? Or does it not have to be from anywhere? -

@Leo Gura So you're saying that almost no one has the desire for Truth at the core of their being? I don't know if it's only me but existential crises have always been satisfying for me. It can be painful to admit that a way of living was a house of cards, sure. But, the pain is satisfying. It's sort of like the pain you get when working out at the gym. You can enjoy the pain in the sense that you feel that you are improving yourself as you experience the pain. Ever felt really good when pumping out those last reps even though it hurt like a bitch? -

@Chris365 No, I don't think so. "Better" is relative to one's bias. Why do I want to know? Why do I care? My first instinct was to say "I don't know". But scrutinize it further, and I find that it is likely because I still have a shadow in my motivation. I want validation that what I am doing is the right thing, because I always second guess myself and wonder if there is something better out there for me. @Nahm I don't know. Who is looking for Truth? Who is experiencing Truth? That implies that there is such a thing as a "Who". To which I don't know how to navigate or point towards. -

@Someone here That is my question - how does it never occur to them to ask what it is they are actually doing? Of course I am heavily projecting. But I just want to know why. Is self-reflection painful for most people? As I'm writing this I am contemplating why self-reflection would be painful. Imagine doing something for 10 years only to realize that you are deluding yourself or that there is something better out there for you. It may be a mixture of sunk cost fallacy and fear of admitting one's way of life is not being used to its full potential. -

@Chris365 Who is asking "Why am I here? What is this? What is Reality? Why this experience and not something else? Doesn't everyone ask these questions?" The questions are not coming from a self. That is an illusory layer on top of the appearance of questions being asked in consciousness. When I ask "Who am I?" or "Who is asking these questions?" my 'mind' just goes blank. I don't know who I am or what I am. -

I'm not fully actualized in this area, but one thing I suggest you consider contemplating is how no amount of thinking and speculation will solve the problem of not having reference experiences for what you want. If you want Truth and Liberation, do the practices. This will build a foundation of experience that you can refer to when topics like these are being discussed. If all you're doing is rearranging your prejudices, you are spinning your wheels. -
Dubstep was the first ever music genre I was interested in when I was little. It still holds a place in my heart to this day. Panda Eyes is an artist that I’ve been listening to since I was 9. During these 7 years, he seems to have developed through the SD stages. It’s interesting to observe how his music has changed. This song in particular resembles some Turquoise. It shares an important message. You can see the symbolism and interpret it for yourself: The way I’d interpret it is that the parts of the video where people are glued to their devices, is showing how society is being enslaved by passivity-inducing distractions. Destroying those distractions makes them look up (wake up) to the only screen left (reality), where there are gas emissions, wage slavery, etc. (I still don’t understand the mother putting a gas mask on her child, if someone has an idea for that could mean, post your thoughts) The pigs shown in the music video could be seen as the fat rats who are still chasing cheese like everyone else, they just have more cheese than average. Think of the typical Wall Street CEO Stage Orange Opportunist. The pigs being killed may be a symbolisation of these materialistic pursuits being trivial, where your soul is being sold to the devil. I’ll leave the rest for all of you to interpret. Post your ideas if you wish.

@Aaron p Those songs are so fucking good. Thank you thank you thank you. Where did you find them? Do you know any other artists? BTW, I think I've found a Stage Turquoise song. It creatively uses bits of Alan Watt's talks and makes it sound amazing.
-
Now that I think more of it, it is Stage Green, demonizing Stage Orange.

This test will never be accurate. "Evil" people don't think that they are evil. Psychopaths don't know they are psychopaths - well, most of them. The path to evil is paved with good intentions.

Become conscious that this idea of "wasting time" is socially conditioned. That's not to say you should now spend all your time playing video games. Rather, just be aware of how it's making you feel while you play them. Awareness is curative. As you play them, if an impulse arises to do something that you think would make you feel good, or even better, go do that thing. If that doesn't work, try mustering up a compelling vision. This should be related to your Life Purpose. Likely what will happen is that the passion that arises from your Life Purpose is so strong that your desire to play video games organically falls away. Or, perhaps video games is a part of your Life Purpose. Don't limit your possibilities

What's the difference between passion and purpose? Or is there any difference? One interpretation I see is that passion is something you love to do, which doesn't necessarily have to be something that best contributes to humanity. Where purpose is something that you love doing and best contributes to humanity. "Best" is relative to one's own bias. Another way to say it is; the most meaningful thing one can do for humanity. For example, if I were to pursue music or drawing, I think that I could be passionate about it, and my impact statement would probably be something along the lines of "to inspire others with art" or "to remove people's misery with art". But to me, it wouldn't be the most meaningful thing I could be doing for humanity, so it wouldn't be my purpose (on the premise of this interpretation) So what are your thoughts? Are passion and purpose the same? Are they different?
