  1. @Recursoinominado If there is too much frustration in the learning process, chances are you're learning the wrong sort of thing or in the wrong way. Some level of frustration is normal, but too much signals a shadow connection to the activity, which is something you should be able to handle when you need to, but shouldn't have to put up with too frequently. Reading yourself and whether you are working well with an activity can help you determine if study, work etc is a good fit for you, so don't feel that you need to force the fit unless there are other constraints making it necessary.
  2. Two ways that turquoise ties in to utilitarianism: As a correlate to cosmos centric, we can consider the consciousness of non-physical beings. Also, we can consider things on greater time scales. Things take place on grand scales at cosmos, and overwhelming yourself with thoughts of high risk events can help break you into the next level - infinite mystery, or Coral. I am in the process of discovering the morality that goes beyond what I have mentioned.
  3. Love, not suffering, but suffering can be in the name of love.
  4. Why do you need to do that? It sounds draining for your personality. Organise and research things you're interested in, otherwise you're going against your natural inclinations. If the world forces you to go against your natural inclinations, I'm sorry to hear it. For now just be aware that this is one of your weaknesses. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. What are you strong in?
  5. I personally go by a morality associated with the bible. The 10 commandments. Love God, and love each other, and seek wisdom/truth. This works with utilitarianism if you consider that sin leads to suffering. You think there are no moral absolutes in utilitarianism, but you are actually begging the question. Hatred of a person is wrong and leads to suffering, so that is a moral absolute that is also consequential. Always act with love, and you will create a great surplus in happiness. Edit: the morality i speak of has more to do with intention/the heart, rather than observable acts
  6. It's just the read i get on him. I can't point to this and that thing he said, you'd have to be familiar with how i do reads.
  7. Shunyamurti fits in the narcissistic guru category from what i could tell. Edit: i prefer terms like false, toxic, but narcissist actually does seem to work.
  8. Change of plans. Instead of doing the masters, i will exit after just under half the time with a graduate certificate. This should give me about 2/3 of the work qualification, and is a much more realistic goal at this point. Also, i aim to study quantum physics independently next year. It is an optimal time because i will be up at the university where i know there are books on it. I also want to study ecological networks, and i can do that any time. These 2 things will be like a personal capstone to my maths degree.
  9. I don't mean literal death. Ego is an early form of identification. We always have a soul identity that we carry with us. Our understanding grows from ego to self to a more mystical self, and seems to stop at some stage down the track. I think this pathway contiues after death.
  10. Uh, as a philosophy, utilitarianism does have selflessness built into it. Its all about a) what quality are you trying to maximise (happiness), and b) how do you measure it (across all consciousness, adjusting for degree of consciousness, and also across as great a time scope as reasonable). So it only gives you as an individual priority because you are the main one effected by your actions, but ideally you should factor in other people on comparable grounds where you can.
  11. Father Spyridon of the orthodox church. Would you consider him a spiritual master? Well, either way, he is certainly not a narcissist. I understand what you mean by the trend of narcissism in spiritual masters. It is also present in politicians and preachers. Corrupt leaders.
  12. Are you referring to reincarnation, or something else? Reincarnation shouldnt be scary. Though you go to a spirit world after death, i don't think you will reincarnate. I reference seeing through the eyes of humans and animals as part of mergings. This is transcendent consciousness. You might experience it differently if you get to that point. Maybe Leo was referring to something else, but the thing i am thinking of is good and not scary. It is a deep connection with nature and other people, even non physical entities. It's all good. Just make sure you seek the truth, whether you like it or not. Do not invent comforting illusions for yourself. The truth is better than what you can dream of, and you will lead yourself astray by hiding from it.
  13. I think green should be tier 2. If you look at how SD correlates with other models, typically orange is placed at the top of the first stage, and turquoise at the top of the second stage. Coral and above is like unknown territory.
  14. Try and find a philosophical question that the 8 year old is interested in. My dad used to tell me about paradoxes. At 13 I was interested in questions like free will, reality, morality. At 8 I was into Lego and Pokemon.. but I guess, ask the kid if they know what right and wrong is, and how they would describe it. If he tries to put morality into words, he is being a moral philosopher. Then you can also turn to metaphysics. What is the difference between dreaming and real life? Philosophers try to answer these questions and more.
  15. No the Self is not the ego, the Self rises as the ego falls. Then the Self falls, and an even higher Self rises. You said you are entering coral. As far as i know, that is self death.
  16. Ascending up the spiral is a spiritual process. That is why spiritual people ascend higher. Some stuff you said was good but you form some faulty conclusions.
  17. @Lindsaywhy on earth would someone study people like that to understand coral? Its no surprise that half were psychopaths.
  18. It sounds like you have a similar condition to me, but with a later onset. When were you diagnosed as bipolar? Probably you should try to overcome your paranoia before you do any deep sea diving. Edit: going back and looking at the post again, i need to change this point. If you got over paranoia in 2018, after 9 years, then probably you are ready for psychedlics, but go with whether you feel you are ready, not when someone else says. Paranoia is related to ego death. If you are holding onto your ego this can result in a bad trip. This includes situations where you don't feel safe. It sounds like you may have shed the ego to a degree where many more basic methods will be less effective than psychedlics. Btw i am not coming at this as a psychedlic user, but as someone who feels they could handle them well, so pay attention to what psychedlic users say. You dont need psychedlics to develop, especially given your episodes. I don't use them, but i have used other drugs. I could have developed to this level without any drugs.
  19. You're not very conversational, are you.
  20. The music i listen to is blue and orange. I don't know how music can really go much past that. It's weird. Some stuff that reminds me of spontaneous mystery (coral correlate) are iron maiden - rime of the ancient mariner, nicki minaj - come on a cone, and some classical piece I'd have to search for the name of. Edit: the piece is rachmaninov - isle of the dead Relevant for self death experiences.
  21. I'm not really much of a book person. What's the best one?
  22. The example i provided was the magical thinkining common in young children. Is this an accurate example? I notice a strong resemblance between my experience with the higher stages, and the fantasy play as a young child. It's a return of the magic, and the suppressive force seemed to be school. So what i am saying is that my early and recent life are similar because they are magical. The magic could have remained, but it was sublimated into intellectual pursuits. So my hypothesis is that purple and yellow actually do have something in common, because the magical thread through the stages might tend to get sublimated from red through to orange. However, the kinds of magic in purple versus yellow are of course very different. Its like... you know how there are aspects of stages that skip every 2 or 4 stages, thus giving red, orange and yellow something in common, and purple blue and green something in common? I cant remember what they have in common, maybe individual versus collective? But anyway i am saying something similar, except i am not implying it is cyclic. If we measure the levels for degree of 'magic', would purple and yellow both come out with higher scores than, say, orange?
  23. I get that they're different, but i don't know enough to say what purples animistic spirituality is exactly. They sound vaguely similar though. An interesting parallel is the role of the education system in people's lives. School basically disciplines the magic out of you, and only some regain it once they leave school (some never lose it and probably have a hard time in school). So I'm wondering, does this happen on a societal level? Is there some kind of education system parallel that makes society less magic focused for several stages? I guess blue is spiritual too, in simplistic terms. So the forces of organised religion, as well as science, are relevant to this equation. Edit: perhaps the answer is the government?
  24. By cap do you mean a level people can reach and go no higher? I don't think it's a cap per se, but a stage at which advancement gets much slower. For example, think of someone who gets to orange easily enough, and remains there for many years, but then has a mid life crisis and actualises in their 40s. They might go their whole life without getting much higher, but they will still have some sense of advancement. Not having too much data about this, theres not too much more depth i can go into at this point.
