a thought. Haven't you watched Leo's video? Whatever model you have of reality is a copy. It doesn't get you to the substance of what a thing is. Nothing will get you closer to knowing what the sun is than simply looking at it. And that's the whole point of mysticism. The sun is God. It's 100 % unknown and unknowable.

@Leo Gura I guess one of the objections might be that you assume reality is an infinite Zoom and this substance proplem just keeps going forever.. Have you heard of planck's constants in physics? Basically they have a minimum limit for distance (and for other quantities like mass speed etc) where you can't zoom more than that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planck_units

@arlin no mystical nonsense.. Think about it from a physical perspective You was both a sperm in your dad's body and an egg in your mom's body.. Well what's before that? You was some protein cells in their lunch.. What's before that? You was some plant probably.. And before that? You was some soil nutrition.. Before that.. You was a corpse of a human being.. Before that you was some human being. You get where I'm going with this .

You are the Now. When you get down to the very bottom of what is it that you actually are.. what you’ll find is that what you are.. is not any of the concepts you attach to yourself.. but that all you are is raw consciousness itself. Your consciousness and my consciousness are not similar.. but PERFECTLY identical. Not talking about the contents of consciousness.. but the consciousness itself.. being the feeling of felt experience.. the very sense of being. That is absolutely perfectly one hundred percent identical across all things. And despite all the perceived differences within our consciousness.. the one thing that it all has in common is that it is all happening right now. Your now and my now are the exact same. For a while I thought Leo is not awake and he is far "gone".. Lost in solipsism and there is no hope for him. But I became precisely aware of what he means by "everything is imaginary". This is my own interpretation after all. "everything is imaginary " is pointing to something. that term only makes sense in contrast to it’s opposite. So if we said that your mother is imaginary.. you have to ask “as opposed to what?” What is imagined aka what is experienced is as real as real can be. The duality of real and imaginary collapses into a unity as do all dualities. Your life is true and real. It’s just not ULTIMATELY true. It’s relatively true. The ultimate truth is that all there really is is consciousness/the present moment.. and everything else is concept which can be interpreted differently from view point to view point. Your life is conceptual. But that doesn’t mean it’s not real. When Leo says the "everything is imaginary” thing.. he doesn’t mean what you think he means. When he says that everything is imaginary.. he’s saying that everything is merely appearance without substance.. and that how we interpret those appearances is relative. Consider that whether I am a real person or not is relative. There is no factual truth about it because it's conceptual. Unlike THIS.

@Mafortu why passive aggressive? Sorry for any misunderstanding bro. Think about it.. If the truth is hidden it can't be the truth! At least it would be relative not absolute. Because being hidden in a certain context means it is not true in that context. This can't be the case if we are talking about absolute truth. Your very search for absolute truth assumes it can be found elsewhere meaning its not absolute.

Obviously it is the truth. Whatever is happening is truth. Could it be otherwise? Yeah if everything is perfect.. How is it not perfect to do those things? Suffering is not illusion. You misunderstood what absolute perfection means. Obviously it doesn't mean you are constantly blessed out of your brain . It really just means everything is inevitable. Everything here and now is perfectly fine with the universe. It's only not perfectly fine for you.

Perfect is your egoic agenda. PERFECT as an absolute must mean whatever is happening. there is no contradiction.

Whatever that means must be imagined.

Not a big deal. Either cut your interactions with her or reduce them. And either way accept that that's the way she is and move on.

You're missing the point. I don't know. That's just my imaginary interpretation. The Statement "everything is imaginary" have no objective meaning except whatever you imagine. As is my whole post. Everything is perspectives except consciousness. There is only consciousness imagining stuff.

What brain? Have you ever seen a brain? If not why you Believe in it? You don't believe in ghosts because you probably never seen one. Do you have any reasonable arguments/proofs /exercises that consciousness originates from this so called brain?

Leo himself says in the video " I don't consider people like Sam Harris.. Richard Dawkins etc to be real scientists. They are more of a public intellectuals". So forget about it.

@Psychventure do you know that Hitler was a vegan? (assuming you are not a vegan)in your lifetime.. you literally have killed more life forms directly than Hitler. All the animals that you have eaten. The naughty lizards you have slapped. The ants that you are crashing with your feets as you walk the streets wiggling your butt.. If you enter a nondual state of consciousness..you realize this little ant is YOU... How can you kill it? Because it's unconditional. You have been killing yourself forever. And you ofcourse forgive yourself and love yourself unconditionally.

After researching a lot of methods and techniques to reach mystical states of consciousness.. And what is available to me and what isn't.. I finally decided going to an isolation retreat. I found a nice place "out in the woods" where no one can disturb me. A nice little basement where I can sit by myself all day with zero distractions. Will carry some food and water.. And basic hygiene stuff.. And go there today to start my retreat. I plan to stay there for one week at least. What I'm going to do basically is meditation +contemplation +shamanic practices(chanting and prayers etc) .. Non-stop. Only taking break for food.. Hygiene and sleep etc. And even then I shouldn't wander a lot and keep mindfulness. I'm gonna specifically contemplate the questions : 1 who am I? 2 what is reality? 3 what is god? 4 why is there something rather than nothing? 5 is choice real? I'm not gonna read a single word or intellectualize.. Or parrot what I heard Leo or other spiritual teachers said. Let's pretend that I was just born and I know nothing and im the first human alive. That's where my mindset should be doing this retreat. Ofcourse it's not easy to clean my mind perfectly from what already has been programmed deep into it . That's why I need to meditate a lot to shut down my conceptual mind and just be an ignorant blank slate in full touch with actuality. My goals : Perhaps achieving a mystical state of consciousness.. Sober Increasing my base level of Consciousness. Building some discipline and detoxing from lofty comfy life. Gaining direct insights to deep existential questions. Will post after I finish reporting how it went and sharing anything valuable I found. Cheers.

LOL what? Being is eternal. It was never born and it will never die. It can't go anywhere because it's already everywhere. I'm not sure what happens after you physically die. You can destroy all forms. But you can't destroy the formless. And you are that. This is the realization of immortality. You will never die because you are everything. Whatever is left is you and it can't be otherwise. When you become conscious of that you realize that you are God because you are immortal. Sure the human you will die. But death of the human is just giving up being a someone.

No obviously it doesn't. Your sexuality is highly dependent on your genetics and your childhood fantasies. Whatever you were attracted to in your early teen years and puberty.. That is your true sexual orientation. A better question why would you want to brainwash yourself into changing your sexuality? Whether you're gay or straight.. Do you feel like you're attracted to something you aren't "supposed" to be attracted to?
