  1. Nutmeg. In high doses can cause hallucinations
  2. You guys struggle to get my point. You still need more reality deconstructing. You deconstructed the past and the future.. But you still have to deconstruct the illusion of the present.
  3. Are you saying reality is not changing? It only seems so because of memory?
  4. The nature of "this" is such that it's uncapturable. And therefore can't be even called "this".
  5. Exactly. A now or a present moment is a static object (screenshot lol). . Since everything is ever-changing and ever-moving.. What exactly are you calling "now"?
  6. How can there be present moment if reality is always moving and changing?
  7. You are into something. Since reality is constantly changing.. There is no " now." Because there is no static points. And of course that means there is no past or future either. But the opposite is true also relatively speaking. There is no now and there is a now. There is no past yet there is a past. There is no future yet there is a future.
  8. Not always. You might believe that you are coffee table.. And that won't turn you into a coffee table. Of course you assume others are having an experience to be able to interact with them. That doesn't mean you actually know that. You do the same thing in your dreams at night with dream characters.
  9. Since you are experiencing right now then it's certainly true for you. Your own experience. You have no access to other's experiences. So it's just a belief and will remain a belief.
  10. Just re-watched Leo's series on absolute infinity. And left me wondering if my understanding is correct or did I misinterpreted the notion. Does it mean that everything imaginable will happen? ALL POSSIBLE LIFETIMES OF ALL POSSIBLE CREATURES . .. YES! All possible creatures. 5-legged ones or just beings made of energy only.. or creature with not 5 or 6 senses but 300 senses etc...and so on.. There is no limits to what can be created and experineced.. Is that correct understanding of what infinity is? And if that's true. I guess we are fucked ? Existence must be the most outlandish thing ever.
  11. On psychedelics? And what exactly did you experinece? @Kambido because there is only one infinity. You can't get more infinite than infinite. Infinity+infinity =infinity.
  12. @Shin btw let me ask you how do you know that's true?
  13. I'm practicing (do nothing) meditation technique these days and self-inquiry to try to calm down the activities of my mind. In my observation.. it is impossible to stop thinking. The notion of thinking itself is a grey area because you could say emotions.. perceptions.. sensations are a type of thought as well. Even beyond that, the subconscious mind itself can be viewed as a collection of thoughts and notions under the surface. But even if we talk about the recurring surface level thoughts. From a functional perspective.. Stopping them will mean a regression in one's Evolution. You can't suddenly go back to an animal state prior to thoughts. Likewise.. transcending thought would mean being in continues state of Samadhi.. where one can't function in this world. Thoughts come and go out of nowhere and are outside of your control (like weather or your body's metabolism). Trying to stop your mind can be a powerful ascetic practice since you will quickly realize that it is impossible. Thoughts on stopping thoughts?
  14. Do you mean The thought that stops moving is the psychological thought. Thought will still move to solve practical problems. To control certain aspects of environmental or to meet physical needs?
  15. @BipolarGrowth how so? Even when you are 'not thinking', you are thinking the thought "I am not thinking" , or "I am aware"
  16. So this is a new (or new old) way to try to conceptualize reality and make sense of it. The distinctions here are arbitrary and completely relative but nevertheless here we go. There is basically only two things in all of existence.. Forms and formlessness. That's it. There isn't and never was and never will be anything else. The forms ALWAYS are limited and impermanent. The formless ONLY is unlimited and permanent. The two Are actually identical but it's hard for the mind to make sense of that (how could these forms be formless?). Instead try to think of it this way.. The formless is the container of forms. You might ask "where are all these forms taking place"? "where does existence happening"? And the answer is really nowhere.. Reality is happening inside of nothingness. If we erase all forms from existence.. What's left? Only pure formlessness. Pure nothingness. So that's like what's underneath all forms. Or the container of all forms.. The original state that then comes different forms and appear inside of it. So this present moment that's happening right now is 50 % forms and 50 % formlessness. We usually don't think of it this way.. We think "it's just forms ".of course you can't see it because it's not a form. It has no qualities whatsoever and that's precisely why and how it is present everywhere and every when yet you can't see it.. Because you can only see forms. But how come forms are present without a container? There must be a container that contains all these forms and it can't be anything else but formlessness. Think about an empty glass that is necessary to have some water or any substance inside of it. But instead what we have here is not an empty "glass".. But rather pure emptiness. Now you might ask.."where did all these forms come from then"? Here there is really no answer. It's pure magic. But the trick is that ultimately all forms appear and disappear.. They are just like dreams or hallucinations.. Forever appearing and disappearing. There is no rational explanation whatsoever why forms are here (the answer is actually that form is formlessness but it's near impossible to make sense of it rationally without a mystical experience). But the only way to relate to it is by understanding that all forms are ultimately a temporary passing show that means absolutely nothing and was never ought to be anything substantial or to form a "reality".
  17. @Paracosm but who cares about the Bible? ?
  18. In The latest video.. Leo mentioned about epistemlogical nihilism but didn't go in depth about it .. which claims that the acquisition of knowledge is impossible. And I wanna discuss this. How do we know anything at all? Let's say our senses give us direct access to reality. Beyond the sensory content.. How do you ground any knowledge whatsoever? all reason and rationality will always dissolve into an infinite regress of reason where one must eventually concede that they’re taking on a belief. Let's take one example.. If you are not seeing the moon right now.. How do you know it exists somewhere in the universe? You would have to rely on memories or take a scientist's word for it.. Both are just based on faith and cannot be certain knowledge. Another observation.. Is that the senses doesn't give you an explanation of themselves. You see red. You know red exists by seeing it. but sight doesn't explain to you what sight is. And every explanation will require another one to infinity. So actually everything is unexplained. Thoughts?
  19. @Leo Gura bad news . Because more than 50 % of my life is based on stuff that I have no direct consciousness of. A huge part of my 'knowledge' is based on nothing.
  20. @dflores321 @Leo Gura nice! What else? You are not conscious of the moon rn and yet you think you know it exists َ? You are not conscious of your blood flow rn yet you think you know it exists? How to ground a knowledge that you are not directly conscious of, is my main question?it's a reoccurring question that I have not found an answer to.
  21. @Mason Riggle but then how many things you think you know but you have no experience of?
