  1. I am all in favor of the government investigating cults and protecting people from being abused. If Sadhguru turns out to be a scoundrel then let him pay the price. I have had personal contact with some of these sham religious leaders with their egos full of deviltry, so I recognize the need for prosecutorial oversight.
  2. The recent attack on Hezbollah by Israel made my realize that none of us really has a clue of what is going on. You couldn’t have predicted this from anything in the mainstream or alternate media. The information on the media is very bad quality. As for the causes, the most accurate thing that can be said is that these are groups of people processing their mutual karma. We spend a lot of time trying to understand a situation we have no control over. Another good reason to get off social media.
  3. The starting point is the vast knowledge of the East where they approached spirituality as a subjective science. Western religion never developed the scientific precision of the East. The Yoga Sutras outlines any spiritual path. The problem with the Eastern approach is the time it takes. If you had gone to Adi Shankaracharya in the middle ages and asked him to teach you Advaita Vedanta, he would of said you weren’t ready and you would have to do service in hopes of being qualified to learn Vedanta in the next lifetime. The qualifications to even be permitted to learn the knowledge were very high. So you didn’t have any immature silly people running around claiming they are god. The question is if we can use tools such as psychedelics to cut down the time it takes to get into deeper states of awareness.
  4. If the leaders of Muslim countries were that concerned about Palestine, the most effective strategy would be to form an economic boycott. How could Israel survive not being able to do business with the countries that surround it? But they don’t. America buys off countries like Egypt, and uses its economic power to keep the Arab rulers in line. These rulers have to be plugged into the global system to maintain their economies and keep from being overthrown by their own populations. So, of course, Israel couldn’t survive without American power.
  5. This is a big barrier. It's important to remember that Yitzhak Rabin was assasinated for his support of the peace process. If someone is for peace, their life is in danger. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_of_Yitzhak_Rabin
  6. It depends on your journey and state of mind. Right now San Pedro is doing it for me - way deeper than mushrooms or ayahausca.
  7. Irrelevant. What the professor was saying is that China can no longer trust the parts of their supply chain that comes from the West. This is the bottom line.
  8. This has released hell. Eventually a terrorist group will randomly distribute 1000 cellphones in the US and simultaneously explode them. Keep in mind that the US thought it was the only one that would have a nuclear bomb. It doesn't work that way.
  9. Now that this technology has been released, it will be used by everyone, and nobody will be safe with a cellphone or any other device. The world is being made more dangerous by the lust for power.
  10. This channel likes India. https://www.youtube.com/@kyle_paul/videos
  11. It will still be cleaner than ingesting social media.
  12. I have been looking for spiritual tour groups that visit holy places but haven't found anything good yet. I think that would be the most efficient way to use the resources and time. If you aren't in to spirituality, than India is a waste of time. The other thing is the brutal trip from the USA, all the flights seem to take about 30 hours to get there.
  13. Chatgpt gave me the answer in a few minutes.
  14. If you want transformation, you need a long-term and consistent spiritual practice. The psychedlic journey is a tool that makes it easier to go inside and do inner work and is done when called for within the context of your practice.
  15. The border is a legitimate issue. Robert Kennedy discusses the border rationally bringing up the real issues without using racist language to provoke emotions.
  16. The left has as many biases as the right. I have talked to democrat party liberals who hate Putin and blame Russia for all the problems in the world. But they are doing the same thing that Senator Joseph McCarthy did in the 1950s (which all good liberals condemn). They both listen to their own echo chamber and are locked into a group think.
  17. Edward Snowden says he sees an Oswald vibe. https://x.com/Snowden/status/1835460582855631350
  18. Transformation is part of any spiritual path. The “chasing enlightenment” seems to be a modern thing. In Ashtanga 8 limb yoga, samadhi is only one of the 8 limbs. The Yoga Sutras talks about transformation which Pantanjali calles “parinama”. Transformation (parinama) is produced by a sequence of steps (krama). YS 3.15 A “krama” is a step or a single action. You transform yourself by taking one step at a time. Have a consistent practice over a long period of time, practice consistently without gaps, and with enthusiasm and an attitude of service YS 1.14. This unleashes the full potential of the mind. YS 3.4
  19. A video has surfaced of the suspect recruiting foreign fighters for Ukraine (but this doesn't imply Ukraine knew anything about it). https://x.com/i/status/1835457866544582918
  20. I was actually talking in general and not directed to any one person. There are a lot of youtube videos of people describing their awakening experiences.
  21. Lately, they seem to be in to making youtube videos.
  22. The title of this thread is misleading. Being a competent historian or being enlightened are two different issues. What Sadhguru said was reasonable and actually understated. "The Mohammedan Conquest of India is probably the Bloodiest story in History" Will Durant, Historian
  23. According to some reports I have read, the immigrants are being flown there by the government and are given subsidies. How else do they get there? And if that is not true can you provide me with a real article written by an investigative journalist that actually explains the situation and what is happening. Keep in mind that conspiracy theorists fill in the vacuum provided by lack of real information. I have some limited direct experience of Haitians. Several years ago a group of Haitian workers were kicked out of Brazil for some reason and they all showed up in Tijuana to apply for asylum in the United States. Many of them ended up settling in Mexico. They were well dressed and all using smartphones. They were workers who had skills and obviously weren't the type who would eat somebody's pets. I wonder exactly who the Hatians are in Springfield and if they are of the same class.
  24. The question is how much are the undocumented workers being subsidized by the government? An American local can’t compete with a subsidized undocumented worker. He wouldn’t be able to survive. This is profitable for the factory owner (who may be a democrat or a republican). There is also the issue of corruption. Where is the money coming from and where is it going. My guess is that RFK would have focused on this area since he has a long verified history of being pro worker and pro union.
