  1. Yes we are hoping for a better world. A lot has to be done. But in the meanwhile there can be some friction.
  2. Defunding police was the first step, This is the current one: "Seattle protesters take over city blocks to create police-free 'autonomous zone' For three days, the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, or Chaz, has offered ‘a snippet of a reality the people can have’ " https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/jun/11/chaz-seattle-autonomous-zone-police-protest
  3. Remembers me of Sadghuru's speech that might fit to this context at 4.50:
  4. More importantly do people use common sense? Probably not because it probably does not exist. So we are floating through life and there are random laws we follow or we break. In a non-dual forum guidelines sometimes can be seen as a funny concept though it still makes sense.
  5. @Serotoninluv You talk about not firing the culture war but legitimize looters and riots and killings like of David Dorn. You are in favor of defunding the police. That sounds for me like firing the culture war but I could be wrong. Even Leo thinks it's stupid to defund the police. In a nondual world that is just a story. The colors are a made up concept I am color blind. Plus check your white privilege I am a brown guy.
  6. I guess it is because it became boring. There is material for 1mio hours I guess. It is like watching paint dry. Maybe we need some new angle to make habits sexy again or at all. James Altucher has a ideas habit. He writes down everyday 10 ideas. It seems the trick to produce these ideas is to connect things that normally are not connected. Let's say one does meditation. There are endless options how you can combine meditation with some different elements. You can citate a poem while meditating. You can do all kinds of mantra while meditating. Or you can integrate micro meditations in your activities. To get back to the main question it depends. Some people stop smoking when the doctor says he may die very soon if he doesn't stop. If it depends on survival some habits become a priority. If a habit is on priority level 15 then it might never be integrated. I think in the Joe Rogan Podcast there was Guy Ritchie he did I think Joga for 1 year but it just didn't work for him. I guess it went against other priorities.
  7. What happens in Amerika happens basically in the world on a greater scale. If integrating other cultures would be easy the asian countries would open their doors. Even in the culture there is a lot of friction that is not an easy thing to solve. I posted Tucker because you said he didn't mention financial inequality. Well kind of did. I heard him even praising Sanders for being with the working class and critisized cooperate democrats and republicans. Trump got votes because he did talk about the working class who lost their jobs to china. If people would be like this guy things would work out faster I guess. I give him a 8 from 10.
  8. Ok you could be right if you talk about in 20 plus years. The current wars will probably not stop today and will go on tomorrow that is future.
  9. It is not easy to be unwoke
  10. The guys in Syria and Libya might object about your perception of reality.
  11. So the simplified version of what your are writing is that if the people will be good things will be good otherwise things will be bad. Because there were no world wars recently that means things are better. That is only one perspective. One can argue that things got better because it is much much more dangerous to make a mistake than in the past. If you make a big mistake nowadays a mistake like a nuclear war it is game over. I am with Nassim Taleb. You can not forsee black swan events. It is just not possible. I think the most important thing for politics is to not go into a big war. Everything else is relatively small potatoes. We already see USA is no more playing world police. The lion makes a pause the hyenas come out for example in Syria and Libya. Other empires are enhancing their power. We are getting closer to the pattern before the first world war or business as usual that is struggle for power.
  12. You are an optimist. The most violent cities seem to be led by democrats. So if they win there might be even more of such cities.
  13. Right that is why there are many angry people otherwise they would be depressed and thinking about suicide. Hate is sometimes the last tool in the toolbox.
  14. What is wrong with armchair philosophy. I think it is one of the best ways to spent time as long as the house is not burning. Intellectual curiosity saves lives and is a weapon to fight the mighty enemy the boredom.
  15. You are right but I ment in a philosophical non dual sense. There everything is illusion. With revenge I ment it as a general topic for mankind like for example marriage or sex. It's part of our life. Even if it is not acted upon it it is sometimes subconsciously there. Sometimes it's better not to feed them and sometimes to face it in little dosages. For example I don't like watching horror movies. But when I watch it in very brief periods I can handle it and feel stronger. Specially when I spent lots of time in low stress safe space environments where I feel like to sensitive for reality sometimes. It's called kathargic.
  16. There might be no real progress just the illusion of progress. I am into selfimprovement because it is a nice story that works for me for now. No need to get too attached on the story if possible except for survival and exploration.
  17. From an artistic stanpoint it could be story that writes itself practically. It has so much energy it the story takes over. It could be just physical but mostly a story comes with it or the story is hidden and it is frustrating that one can't get the story. For example in movies the most powerful topic is revenge. That story writes itself because that is our biological core.
  18. @Parththakkar12 I am color blind so my reasoning is the BLM and democrats crossed the line. They look like lost cause. Trump looks like the only adult in the room. His approval will probably be higher than ever before.
  19. I think she partly is right but mainly wrong. Not every community has a maniac work culture and that is ok. Even in cultures there are different mindsets. For example the orthodox jews in Israel are basically making a lot of kids reciting the tora for hours and get welfare from the state. So there is income inquality there but it's because of different attitudes to work. Japanes have a word for death through work it is called karoshi. Most cultures don't want to work that hard and that is ok. I don't want to work at a japanese, or korean level. I understand that it creates friction in society because it is natural that people want to be treated equally but not all communities have the same values so you can not treat people who have different cultures equal. You have to tread them fair and appropriate. That is a tricky thing for multi cultural societies. Like I have written couple of times the democrats made with their welfare policies and wrong incentives the situation worse regarding single mothers. Bottom line the Japanese were far richer then the aborigines. There was income inequality. It was not because anybody oppressed them. Not every inequality is to be blamed on oppression from people. On the other thread I gave the example of the island. You can work 10 minutes a day there or 15 hours a day. That would make a huge difference in 400 years. The protestors have a responsibility to keep the protest peaceful. Additionally this bullying to kneel thing is very humiliating. It is not acceptable. Here Tucker sees the fault in the cooperations. USA is a big cooperation. Maybe the usa need a new social contract and if people hate each other so much they should divide the country.
  20. It seems it is just the beginning. The tribal states of divided America becomes a vision. The wet dreams of the right seems more possible now. You are no more allowed to say you are not racist. Otherwise you are racist. USA is going insane:
  21. I ment standing up against activists who are defunding the police and who basically do what the right wing does that is identity politics.
  22. That might be true for them but that is only possible because millions of people are silent to this locally and in the USA and globally.
  23. That is why my working concept is self improvement. I repeat myself here. That is why I look down on people and myself when doing chronic complaining and blaming others. That takes away from my concentration from doing productive things. I think first comes work then fun. Otherwise things get out of control very fast. Ones the lizard, monkey brain takes over it's game over. Of course the religion has it's place. It's actually there to calm the lizard brain. We know they are lies and we have to make the next step if we don't want to risk degeneration through building a system on lies.
  24. This stupidity makes Trump look like a normal person. A lot of oppurtunists and cowards makes this possible I guess. The excuse is that they are desperate. Yes, maybe. It looks still quite stupid. On the other hand we will definitely learn something about it from this experiment that probably will come with a very high price.
