So many languages... I signed up for a website called, 'CodeAcademy'. I need to learn all of these languages? Anyways, thank you for you clear and direct advice. It's time for me to get cracking and get learning. It's intimidating though, b/c to build a successful business, it also takes knowing marketing, AND I need to learn these coding languages. AND if the ceo tries to not cut corners and pay the employees a living wage, what will happen is that he's going to get angry calls from his investors and shareholders demanding that he drive down the employee wages and maximize profits. If he refuses to comply, he'll just get booted off by his board of directors and replaced by a more ruthless ceo. The system is so corrupt, that not even the people at the top of the food chain have control over the situation. Which is precisely why Government is so necessary to enforce these rules of a living wage and unions, because without this, average working people have no means of enforcing these standards on their own.

Greetings. I currently just completed my third semester at Community College. Community College Associates Degrees are supposed to take only two years but I messed up, COVID was hard and I had to take an extra year. Before this final semester, I set a goal for myself that I was not gong to get a single C. The reason for this was because I had a 2.7 GPA, and I was hoping to boost it to at least a 3.0, to make my GPA more competitive for Universities. I misused the syllabus one of my classes and got a D grade, I finished the semester with one D, two C's, and a B. My G.P.A. is expected to be 2.6. I don't know what to do. Should I attend another semester of Community College? THREE AND A HALF YEARS FOR A DEGREE THAT'S ONLY SUPPOSED TO TAKE TWO (so I can retake the courses I got C's and D's in)? Or do I go to a lower level University, one that I originally did not want to attend as it has a lower national ranking, but has looser entrance standards and is more likely to accept me.

I never understood people who never drink alcohol. Even if it's a special occasion and they haven't had a drink in years, they will still refuse to drink. Why not? It will just pass through your kidneys and not do any bodily harm, why not live a little?

Because to live is to suffer and I don't want to repeat the cycle of samsara.

Be careful with this desire to be an ambitious person and a hard worker. On a deeper emotional level, success will never nourish you. People who are workaholics are blissfully unaware of this one existential fact that, in the end they're going to die and all of their hard work will mean nothing. I have Indian friends who follow what happens in India, in regards to the BJP, Indian National Congress, and others. It's really sad that the Congress Party is no longer in the dominant position they used to be, they were quite secular and didn't favor any religious group over the other.

I also like the PSL, they actually did run a candidate in 2020. Though they're not as big as the Greens, hence struggle much more than the Greens with ballot access, meaning they're not going to be on the election ballot in every state. The Greens also struggle with ballot access because the Democrats keep sabotaging them, but to a lesser extent. The only Democrats I would EVER consider voting for are the ones affiliated with the DSA. All other Democrats can go to hell.

I made a point in this thread about voting third party, @Razard86 I recommend you give it a shot in the next election. By third party, I mostly mean the Green Party.

Are you being sincere and real, or being metaphorical and not too literal? Like, if I meditated in a forest or in a concrete jail cell, which would have a better effect on my ability to awaken?

Greetings. I really enjoy reading about Buddhism, I'm 21 years old and I have for a while been reading the Pali Canon and Sutras. I've already read; ''In the Buddha's Words: An Anthology of Discourses from the Pali Canon'', and ''The Middle Length Discourses of the Buddha: A Translation of the Majjhima Nikaya''. Now I'm reading, ''Great Disciples of the Buddha: Their Lives, Their Works, Their Legacy''. I get disheartened when Leo calls Buddhism bullshit. I've obtained a lot of value from these books and I have no intention to stop reading. But Leo is making me contemplate whether or not I'm wasting my time. I do recall in another video Leo said ''do not even think of being awake if you had not read at least a hundred books (Abrahamic books do not count)''. It was either from a video or blog post, and I'm paraphrasing the quote. I get immense value from these books, and I think it's appropriate for my low level as I'm still building my life and burning through karma. But Leo says that Buddhism will put me into a paradigm, Buddhism is not AWAKE, no amount of meditation will awaken me, meditation is Bullshit, Buddhism is bullshit. I'm not trying to gaslight Leo so that he changes his position, I'm just asking what to do with my books. Should I continue reading or stop reading before I get locked into a paradigm. P.S. If meditation is bullshit, then how do you explain all the really woke people who got there through meditation? Such as; Peter Ralston, Osho, Siddhartha Gautama, Ramana Maharshi, etc...

I remember reading a wonderful interpretation of the Buddha, where he did indeed awake to God and Love, but then called it 'nothingness'. He did this so that his followers would not have a preconceived notion to cling to. In the similar way that Christians have a humanoid view of God due to Michelangelo's paintings, the Buddha didn't want something like that.

So THIS is what Terrence McKenna meant when he said that rivers and mountains should be our mentor.
