  1. @DocWatts What about if it is shown that these industries function better privatised? For example, in the UK when we De-Nationalised a lot of our industries we saw much more prosperity than we did when they were nationalised. Surely, it’s simply all about testing & whatever proves to be the most effective at providing the most prosperity for the most amount of people is best? And, that’s not to say their isn’t short term pain, but isn’t that to be expected with any system? Also, we have to remember, any public industry is not simply “free” but funded by taxes and / or borrowing (unsustainable of course) therefore, you are taking away X purchasing power of these people, and potentially preventing other sectors growth if said industry becomes bloated & inefficient, which is seems like a looooot of nationalised industries do as no matter how they perform, they get funding & often more when they perform badly. @amorri1010 Hmm still not convinced these function better than markets at all. What value form replaces prices then? And, how do you know what a society want. Sometimes I think people forget, economics isn’t a hard science, it’s based on Human actions, and humans are strange creatures lmao, I mean spend enough time on any social media platform and you realise no government could have the knowledge or know how to satisfy the myriad of desires & wants humans have.
  2. @Husseinisdoingfine Can I see your rebuttal of it then please? Or a country that actually thrived without Markets? Theory is great, but I would like to see an actual working solution of a Market-Less economy which we have not seen, despite plenty of attempts.
  3. I am so glad to hear you say this Leo, I can't take any socialist seriously who doesn't have a rebuttal to the Economic Calculation Problem that plagued 20th Century socialism.
  4. @Joel3102 Of course I would say this, but it’s genuinely the rise of Bitcoin & Crypto overall that has given Austrians another little run in the spotlight, at least that’s how I found them. Through Roger Ver (BCH advocate) who is a big advocate for P2P electronic money / economic freedom.
  5. @Joel3102 YESS!!! Thank You!!! I'm so glad someone else here has read some of the great Austrians (my favorite Economics school of thought) This is why I don't think Pure Socialism / Communism can ever work, one of the best ideas I have heard is replacing the welfare state with a Negative Income Tax (NIT), its such a simple yet profound way of helping the most impoverished in a nation. I also think the real issue countries face isn't so much 'Inequality' but serious Poverty, I don't think Billionaires would be hated like they are if everyone had a higher baseline, and if we shifted the focus from 'we have to make them poorer to make us richer', to making everyone more prosperous globally, I think that is a much more appealing standpoint that everyone wants? @Leo Gura Are you referring to Market Socialism?- 'Market socialism is a type of economic system involving the public, cooperative, or social ownership of the means of production in the framework of a market economy.' Or are you referring to Social Democracy (e.g. Bernie style)
  6. @Michal__ haha, exactly. I think a lot of the time it can be a spiritual ego / bypass issue. Like we all know working out & eating clean is good for our physical & mental well-being, so by simply saying it’s “not spiritual” is an easy way to get out of disciplining yourself and letting yourself off the hook. Could it also be a sign of a Blue / Orange shadow since to me it seems like a sign of healthy aspects of these stages if you have a good body & take care of yourself etc
  7. @Leo Gura When you get back into Training, who are you going to follow for training & nutrition advice out of interest? I like Greg Doucette & people like him as they openly admit they use Steroids My biggest pet peeves is the young “fake nattys” as they are targeting 14-25 year olds and giving them a lot of false hope, which is very dangerous imo. Gymshark really Need to sort this out.
  8. I’ll never stop going to the gym, I absolutely love how good it makes you feel and look. yes, I do it for health and because working out is fun & helps me maintain healthy eating & healthy habits such as discipline, routine and just healthy blue / orange habits. But, there’s defo an element of “Ego” in terms of comparing my body to last year, 2 years ago & wanting to look as good as possible, but it can also be seen as an “art” of testing your body well & sculpting it. There is also a way to do it sustainably- no drugs / Sarms etc, only using healthy supplements, maingaining instead of constant bulk / cut cycles which really isn’t great for you, using proper form, adding in cardio, other forms of exercise Its just like most sports & to be honest most things in life, they can be done from an egotistical / unconscious perspective or they can be made more & more conscious etc But, at the end of the day, life is all about having fun & enjoying yourself, so if you enjoy the process of working out & getting jacked, and aren’t causing harm, then do it! It also brings a myriad of physical / mental health benefits I haven’t even mentioned here
  9. I made a post early last year about the WHM and how great it was. So, as an update here's the key takeaways- Cold Showers / Cold Therapy is amazing and I'll likely do forms of it forever, its even better when combined with Heat Therapy (Sauna) etc The breathing method is best used in conjunction with the cold, there's a reason they are taught together by Wim Best benefits of WHM that effect daily life- Deep relaxation, increased energy, improved breathing (duh), Improved mood. Science behind it- The studies have shown improved Immune function, this is from a survey regarding WHM- https://www.wimhofmethod.com/benefits & has a list of all the benefits reported, pretty much its amazing lmao I mean I could go on but basically, I highly recommend Practicing it, Cold Shower & The breathing method are the BEST way I've found to start my day, but of course these things are subjective and it may not work as well for everyone, but I don't see many reasons not to try it. Also, these are the 5 other best biohacks I've found in the last year that have been awesome (not technically spirituality related like WHM but still) Air Purifier- Most recent, but greatest impact. Was waking up with stuffy nose often & due to living with smokers, this has been a lifesaver. Saunas- Imo, Saunas allow you to meditate & relax on a wayyyyy deeper level, they are also amazing for your health, Dr Rhonda Patrick covers this well. Grounding- Since I live in the UK this is mainly done on Grounding mats & bedsheets, recommend the 'Earthing' documentary for a rundown on this, such a simple addition. Purified Water- One most people know about but found this water bottle which made it so convenient & now will never drink tap water no matter where I go- https://www.livelarq.com/ (Also, I started using fluoride free toothpaste but I know that's controversial haha) Not a Biohack but thanks to @Michael569 I allowed myself relaxation time & to enjoy downtime instead of always focusing on growth & business etc, paradoxically it has helped me grow my business even faster. I just mean things like enjoying movies, drinking with friends, games, sports, just having fun with Gf / friends etc and essentially enjoying life! Sleep Cycle / Supplements- Fix your sleep & you won't regret it, I'd also add morning Nootropics
  10. Nowadays, there is literally 1000s of Non-Duality books out there, so I wondered what are the ones that really made it 'click' for you? Mine are: Eckhart Tolle- The Power Of Now- Must've listened to it 50-100 times between the ages of 16-18, was my first introduction to it all. A new Earth is pretty good too. 1000 & 'No Mind, No Problem' by Ramaji- Cleared up so much for me, No Mind, No Self & the natural pure awareness meditation inside the book is Gold, and I've spoken about 1000 on here enough lmao. Intimacy With The Infinite- Ananda Devi- A staggering story of how much awakening can drastically change your life, but shows following & Living Truth always pays off in the end, I am biased as Ananda is / was my teacher! Rupert Spira- The Art Of Peace & Happiness- Such a great book & articulate writer. However, I feel sometimes, he ever so slightly overcomplicates the language which can be confusing for newbies. However, him & Francis Lucille's Inward & Outward (Tantric) paths I found particularly useful in contrast to just traditional Advaita alone. Hoping to add @Nahm's book to this list soon
  11. Great Response, +1 Professional Sport = Play at its highest levels, it isn't simply just 'Ego.' Of course Sport as a whole will evolve as society evolves.
  12. @mandyjw I always found direct translations of Nisgardatta / Ramana in book form tough to read, I'm not sure Sanskrit can be rightfully translated to English very well haha @Flyboy Awesome, I found a book of not knowing dry but that was probably cos I was listening to it at my first ever cleaning job which was already boring haha @Beginner Mind Yeah I love Rupert, and you're right, it just requires a higher level of intellectual ability
  13. https://bitcoin.org/en/bitcoin-paper (this is now more Bitcoin Cash than Bitcoin these days though, BTC acts more as Gold but is King for now!) @trenton when we live in a society where losses are subsidized by the Government if you're in their good books (Wall Street), that is not Capitalism, its crony Capitalism. This book was truly an eye opener for me, although I don't think it will go down well here, haha https://www.amazon.com/Economics-One-Lesson-Shortest-Understand/dp/0517548232/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=economics+in+one+lesson&qid=1620143314&s=books&sr=1-1
  14. @machiavelli Thoughts are not a problem when you simply let them arise, do their thing & fall. Is a laptop a problem if you use it for your essential tasks & then shut it down for the night?
  15. Is it enough to learn weightlifitng by just reading all the textbooks on how to lift weight? Theory provides the foundations. Action gives you the results. So, of course read the books, but don't think you'll become an expert without actually putting in the work
  16. Hey, I wanted to start this discussion about making 'Pick Up' a more conscious part of life. As we all know, a lot of PU is stage Orange at best and involves a lot of manipulation and lying. I want this to be a discussion on how you can make these teachings way more conscious. Firstly, I think the name 'Pick Up' is pretty shitty, a better name would be 'Dating & Attraction' or something like that, I feel. Instead of teaching guys how to manipulate Women, the focus should be on firstly, how to develop your social and communication skills naturally so that you can actually hold conversations with the opposite sex, without relying on canned lines or 'routines' if you look at guys who are 'naturals' it looks well, natural, not like some dancing monkey that a lot of PUAs look like. This would involve teaching the fundamentals such as talking, tonality, eye contact, conversation skills, physicality, leading, flirting etc, pretty much the basics of interacting like a human being, instead of a creep. This would of course involve overcoming approach anxiety, which is what holds a lot of guys back. Also, I believe the focus should be on becoming the best person you can be, instead of simply using tricks and tactics to manipulate the situation. This would been developing all areas of life such as career/ business, health/ fitness, Spirituality, hobbies etc, and just becoming a well rounded awesome person that doesn't actually need gimmicks to attract Women, but can do so by being someone people want to be around, I see this as a much more holistic approach. Taking care of yourself- This is essentially learning proper hygiene, getting a haircut, shaving, developing your fashion, taking care of your body etc etc, basically just becoming presentable and the best looking version of yourself. I get attraction is beyond looks, but attraction is of course still pretty key, no need to get hung up here like some guys do, just do what you can and move on. Developing Connections with people- Instead of seeing Women as sexual objects, start treating them as people, and developing connections. This doesn't mean you have to marry every girl you approach, it just means it's not ALL about Sex, but actually about developing a connection first before you simply try to get the Women into bed, also, I think everyone knows sex is infinitely better with people you have a connection with. Sex- Last point, but don't make this about yourself. Sexuality is a beautiful expression of the divine, not a race to see who can finish first. Realize this and please take your time with each Women and treat them like the Goddess they are, not a piece of meat! Some great guys for learning about this are 'Don of Desire' he has some very fundamental videos on this topic! Mastering sex is a very fundamental part of this journey imo, especially if you want to see a girl again! What else would you guys add to this? This discussion was sparked as I am now single again, and getting back into the dating game, some of the guys I've been watching are very stage orange but have some good teachings to offer, but It's just about making them much more conscious instead of what you typically see in the so called 'Pick Up' community. I feel learning dating and attraction is of course essential for those who want to, but can be done in a way that doesn't involve endless manipulation and what not, and instead can be a holistic pursuit of becoming the best version of yourself and massively improving your Social skills.
  17. Very dystopian, giving the state even more power, and just seems absolutely mental to me I’ll effectively have to show papers to go have a pint with some friends in a “free” country But, my political opinions are veryyyyy different to most left leaning people on this forum, so I’m not sure many would agree ? However, no I would never support such a system, and majority of business owner I have spoken to / seen on social media say the same
  18. Personally, I am not an anti-Natalist, I believe if you don’t want to have children for whatever reason, that’s your choice & your right, you shouldn’t be forced too, but I also believe it’s the same the other way round. To me, saying all our problems could be solved by simply making ourselves extinct, is similar to telling a depressed person they may as well kill themselves. Wouldn’t a better solution be to invest in technology & holistic solutions to the worlds problems, so as a species we can evolve instead of giving up? Also, aspects of Buddhism may support this, but true spirituality certainly does not, if anything it supports finding solutions to your problems (unhappiness for example) And then spending a lifetime expressing this in innumerable ways, including having a family if you wish. Sure, you can argue life is suffering from one perspective, but isn’t it also amazing, joyous, fun, enjoyable, loving & pretty damn good from another? Is me loving life being “over invested” in survival, or optimising the cards I was dealt? To me, a far better philosophy is Non-Duality which recognises the issues many of us are facing, then gives us the tasks of finding the solutions & living that understanding for the rest of this human experience. Also, from the little I have seen from these small AN communities, they seem rather wrapped up in the ideology, and come across a little cultish at times. Idk, I guess I just feel instead of preaching how unfair it is you were born & how we should exterminate ourselves, why not make the most of our time here & find creative solutions for the worlds issues? Maybe I’m just too much of an optimist but sorry to say, (touch wood that everything is okay etc) I very much plan on having my own family, and having children in the future, and I don’t think it’s right to attack me for that, personally
  19. Investing in companies you believe in that are helping solve problems / issues in the world & improve people’s lives? That’s certainly conscious. of course it depends what you invest in, if you invest in a company making poison food / drink you are contributing to that.
  20. I’m a medical medium fan boy so celery juice after the daily lemon water every single day ?
  21. This x10000 I don't think we realize how many people are still broken from broken childhoods. In regards to OP its true, why would a happy, satisfied (in all areas) women who is with a man she loves and who fulfils the role of the masculine in the relationship well? You have to also remember a LOOOOT of guys have 'high value' traits pre-relationship but then slip into the comfort zone- get out of shape, lose focus on purpose, sex goes downhill etc etc I feel Men need to become their best version for THEMSELVES and not solely for the purpose of attracting a partner, then they won't lose all the qualities that made them desirable in the first place. Obvious example is Gym & eating well for yourself first and foremost (or any other sport you love) not to get jacked because you think it will get you girls. Also, a slightly unrelated thing is the theory regarding 'Orgasm' hangover I have heard, so maybe incorporating the more 'Loving, Slow' sex (Karezza, forms of tantra) into your sex life as well as other types could help deepen connection & love as the excitement fades,
  22. @Zion Varies from body mind to body mind. If you enjoy something & have a deep connection / love with someone and want to express that, why wouldn't you? The moment you create that belief for yourself that it is, or when you create that belief that this is how it is for 'enlightened people' Also, Monks aren't necessarily Enlightened at all, and their repression usually has horrific consequences- Catholic priests pedophilia, even Buddhist monks abuse and crazy sexual outbursts. Dropping it naturally is one thing, suppression is another & imo far more harmful in most cases long term
  23. Aside from the LP course & diving deep into your LP, this is the simplest path to financial freedom. Develop Skills / Products / Services that the market demands and that fulfills X need / problem / desire for Said person / people (For example, you could make a song you LOVE but if nobody likes it, you don't get paid and don't get fans) Build a business / self-employed career around this skill / product / service, keep growing this until you reach an income you are happy with, but even then continue to grow so the business doesn't die. Invest excess profits into Crypto / Stocks / Real Estate or other investment vehicles, this is money that isn't going back into the business. Don't spend money on high end luxuries for a while until you're financially sound, nothing wrong with things like designer clothes & nice cars to enjoy them, but NOT (at least in excess) when you are trying to pursue financial freedom, it just sets you back In 2021 we have it EASIER than any of our ancestors, you literally have endless opportunities at your fingertips, our great grandparents would bite our hand off for 1/10th of the opportunities we have. It really is that simple, there is no shortcut. Or failing that, find a job at a company you resonate with, and negotiate terms that suit you, but you need to have expert skills to leverage to do this, they'll only let you work a 6 hour workday for example if they trust you will complete all tasks in 6 hours. Create a plan, stick to it!
