  1. @Leo Gura Hey Leo, sorry another question How would you know if you're capable of feeling love towards another person vs not? How could you tell the difference? I'm just trying to tell the difference between liking, affection and love. Or maybe is not worth it getting too specific about it?
  2. @AdroseAkise I'm surprised to see such stupidity on this forum to tell you the truth. This is like saying all asian men are good at math, or all black people are aggressive. Just a dumb stereotype.
  3. @AdroseAkise That's very narrow minded of you honestly. Weed, like most substances, affects everyone differently, in different points in their lives, and not everyone necessarily falls into the stereotype of "the couch potato stoner".
  4. @mandyjw that sounds to me like you never tried weed, or at least good weed
  5. @Leo Gura Yeah but psychedelics don't provide daily relief you can only do it occasionally.
  6. @Flowerfaeiry I had been smoking daily for quite a few years now but in the last month or two I wasn't enjoying it much at all, rather I was getting panicky and having depersonalization episodes. It happened again yesterday so I decided to take a proper break from it. I'll have to make peace with sobriety hehehe.
  7. @Leo Gura I'm sure some skilled individuals can, but I don't think that represents the majority of people, that's why the the video was more oriented towards the societal/cultural aspect of it, not about somebody's personal potential of becoming really good at getting sex from women.
  8. @ValiantSalvatore How does that affect the arguments and studies he's presenting?
  9. @Leo Gura Yes, in the video he mentions as he cites various studies that most of the people who engaged in casual sex had an intention or hope that it would lead to a long term relationship, contrary to the popular belief that people did it with a "no strings attached" kind of attitude. However the percentage of people who reported their hookups leading to a relationship was very low. At the same time, very curiously, other studies found that most people are forming long term relationships with previous casual sex partners, but because casual sex rarely leads to a relationship, then the overall conclusion is that people are having less relationships than ever, specially in western countries where hookup culture is mostly established. In not trying to claim anything or reach any conclusions yet, but there certainly seem to be some problems with having casual sex culturally as the main way to find a mate. Not to mentions other things he cites, like a lot of them leading to rape and other bad stuff.
  10. No amount of war or disease could make me think that the past is somehow worse than today, sorry.
  11. Agreed. Sadly, I think the change that needs to happen in the world can only be brought about by catastrophe. Humanity probably needs to crash very hard in order to realize the insanity of its current way of being. I agree that life is more practical than ever. Survival is easier than ever. But I can't help to feel that there's some essential quality than has been lost. I can't quite put my finger on it, It probably has to do with the internet and technology. But hey, what do I know? Maybe it's just me. I'm sure some people out there are having the time of their lives right now.
  12. @Breakingthewall You get it bro. It sucks.
  13. @snowyowl Yes to all of your questions. And yeah, ideally I'll manage to move to a countryside at some point, or at least get some proper vacations.
  14. How do you know you're addicted? How would you define it? Is it possible to use a substance regularly and not necessarily be addicted to it? Ask yourself this.
  15. @4201 plus, the past doesn't automatically mean medieval europe
  16. At least we lived closer to nature and each other. There was a sense of community everywhere you looked. Most work involved moving around instead of sitting for hours and hours in front of a screen. Nobody had fake tits and people weren't as self obsessed as today. Life was overall more exiting by default, instead of boring and lonely. I'd rather have the challenges of yesterday than the benefits of today, anytime.
  17. @snowyowl The world in general. Everything but our technology is degrading.
  18. @AriSujan dang, did you ever try armodafinil? or any other nootropic?
  19. Hey guys, I'm facing a bit of a dilemma in my life, but instead of explaining my whole situation I just wanted to ask a quick question to you all. Given the choice, would you choose a decent earning job, (enough to live modestly, but nothing crazy) with PLENTY of free time, (almost 80%), or a job that pays 4x times more but that most likely will require much more time a more responsibility? I'd appreciate your take on this, thanks!
  20. I tried Sun Pharma's modafinil. I tried it in different dosages but sadly I didn't do much for me, didn't make me feel different in any way Maybe I'll try armodafinil in the future since it is supposed to be stronger.
  21. Hey, thank you all for your answers. For now I've decided not to change jobs, and instead make better use of the free time I get in my current one to focus on what matters the most to me, which is playing the best piano I can possibly play I must say the money is very tempting, especially if you come from a middle to low class family like myself and have never experienced "luxuries" such as traveling, having cars or a house of your own instead of rent. But I've figured I'm doing OK making as much money as I do now, and If sometime in the future I really feel like I need more, then nothing prevents me from taking another job then.
  22. @Leo Gura Mind sharing some advice on this? What do you think would be the wise choice here? If I eventually want to escape the rat race, wouldn't it be a good idea to get hold of a decent amount of money first through a high paying job before venturing out into entrepreneurship? Do you think you would've been able to start your first businesses if you hadn't first had your game dev jobs?
  23. What works by him would you recommend to read first?
