Dr. John Vervaeke is a more conscious version of Jordan Peterson. If you enjoyed the introduction, you should continue with the next videos in the series.
-
Hey @Leo Gura If I finished the Vervaeke series 5 years ago, do I get extra credit? Or is time relative?
-
I took your long summary, gave it to ChatGPT, and told it to summarize. @AION For those people who want the summary of the summary, here it is...

Do not dive deep into that which is shallow...

You are dreaming. Linear is a dream. Time is a dream. It can appear to last forever, until you wake up. -
Have you pondered on who is asking questions and who is answering?

It's essential to have an intent before the trip. Why are you doing this? Better not to eat or drink. For the best experience, you can listen to high-frequency vibrational music.

Imagine fighting all your life to free slaves, so that when you free them, they go back to becoming slaves again. Some people are happy being slaves and don't want freedom. -
In Chapter 10 of the book, there is a dialogue between Socrates (the wisest man) and Hermes(messenger of God). The dialogue is one of the best takes on Epistemology that I have seen yet. I highly recommend reading this chapter: https://publicism.info/science/infinity/11.html The rest of the book is also insightful.

I watched the whole thing. Here are some of the takeaways. Most people work on autopilot. They don’t want to think for themselves, so they ride the guardrails that society has created for them. Most people are derpers. They are in a derp state. Their mind zones out. Thinking will cause them to release cortisol, which is a stress hormone. Most people are on autopilot because they don’t want to be stressed. So they don't think and let others think for them. Make a conscious choice to take actions. Make sure you are out of autopilot. If you write with your right hand, start writing with your left hand. etc. Take responsibility for your life. Do hard things. Read big, complex books. Fights against the derp state. Raise your emotional bandwidth. Stick to your core values. Don’t let society distract you from your highest potential. Do not seek validation from others. Critical thinking is critical. Reach transcendent states without any substances. Most people test boundaries until there is a boundary. Realising that you are in a derp state is to first step to getting out of it. Doing actions can be a meditation in itself.

I second the notion.

Can you describe your average day? What you eat, what you do, etc. -
Speaking of the devil, Ramaji now promises Enlightenment in a year or less. Hey Leo, if we join the retreat, can we get enlightened in one retreat or less?
-
We drank your Kool-Aid already. You are all out of it. A retreat without treats, It's not how we greet. If you want to meet, The treats better be sweet.
-
What are you guys yapping about... Time to ask the important questions. Will there be treats at this retreat?
-
Ha. I would say the same about your new speaking style.

That's where I live. Let me know if you need help sourcing some interesting locations.

@Leo Gura Watch the series Nine Perfect Strangers to get some inspiration.

This has the potential to revive the ancient Dionysian Mysteries. Or it could turn into a giant clusterfuck such as the one in Jonestown. Which way it turns out, only God knows...

I completed the 10-day course once in Belgium. It was great. I have taken 1-day courses since then, once in the Netherlands and once at the Global Vipassana Pagoda in Mumbai. The most significant benefits and insights I got from the 10-day meditation retreat. The other were refreshers. If you have meditated for an hour/day for a few years, the 10-day course is what you need—highly recommended. -
"How to have a cake and eat it too" would be a better title. In other words, what you are asking is impossible.

Only if there were someone to invent teleportation. It's 2025, come on, people.
