  1. I read that book. I didn't get the impression that was Wilber's position. Wilber seemed to be of the position that Trump was deeply representative of SD Green backlash, which is correct. Where he goes wrong is excessively blaming Green for this. He sees this backlash due to Green going crazy and not really acting as the leading edge, which is mostly incorrect. Much of this backlash would still be happening even if Green was in its healthiest, purest form. It also is definitely a mistake to confuse post-modernism with being a pathological liar.
  2. For sure there is fear. I’ve had bad trips + trips that were just extremely difficult to integrate. And the potential destabilization effects concern me, given that I’m quite happy with how my mind currently works. I also work in healthcare, which means I’m responsible for other humans. I can’t do 5-MeO and then go see 8 hours of patients. Then there’s the legality of actually procuring psychedelics. I know you can buy research chemicals online, but I’m not really comfortable with that. I tend to be pretty conservative when it comes to legal issues.
  3. An absurd slander of SD Green by Jonathan Pageau and squad. I had seen some of Pageau before and assumed he was smarter than this. A good example how tricky sense-making can be.
  4. Sure, but then how do you consistently do them so often?
  5. I wish you the best with your healing. Do what you need to do.
  6. Well maybe I'll get there at some point. I've done a lot of sober spiritual work so more psychedelics could be a quantum leap for me. My current goal is to do 5-MeO for the first time by the end of the year.
  7. I admit I'm mostly speculating. This is not some hard line stance I have. From the reports I've read from people over the years, just calling low dose 5-MeO "extra energy" doesn't seem right.
  8. Well I've not experimented with 5-MeO. So maybe I'm wrong. But even a low dose at 3x a week seems crazy to me. If it's so low that it has almost no effect, then why even do it?
  9. The image of Trump doing anything intellectual makes me laugh for days.
  10. I have a hard time relating to how much some of ya'll do psychedelics. I'm still understanding insights from trips I had years ago. And they're so badly inconvenient for normal life. 1-2x per year feels like max for me. 3x per week consistently is insane.
  11. Re: griftocracy Love seeing Scott Carney getting some attention. He is a serious journalist with good ethics, an appreciation for truth-seeking and solid progressive politics.
  12. We think it’s a good point. Certainly this is a challenge for monogamy. We could find countless examples of couples whose feelings have faded for each other over the years. So you have to contend with that. From a personality perspective, some people are going to be naturally wired for high novelty / variety. These are the people on the right tail of the normal distribution. They may have an extra hard time with monogamy compared to those in the center.
  13. This is not from an official Trump account. Although it certainly sounds like something he would say.
  14. @integral this looks like a joke. The girls knew what was going to happen. Sometimes it can legitmately be this easy, but generally both you and her have to be in the right state.
  15. @Thought Art Hey brother. I may be able to offer you a perspective as someone who has also been involved in a lot of new age healing practices. One of my biggest critiques was the lack of replicability and verifiability. It becomes very difficult to discern what's accurate and what isn't. Especially since many people in the new age field don't trust mainstream science and will frequently make claims that just blantantly go against it. For that reason, I was drawn to reinvesting in my scientific education. It's been a welcome change of pace for me, and you may find similar benefits to bringing more science / empiricism into what you are doing. Ultimately, if you are in the healthcare / wellness field, our work is pragmatic. Either people are going to get their desired results or not. One of the advantages of mainstream healthcare is the extreme amount of testing that it has undergone. To put it simply, things have to work. Looking forward to hearing about your next moves.
  16. I like living. I enjoy my life and have no desire for it to end. I'm a very happy person. But of at the same time, perhaps that's only because the circumstances of my life are quite good. I'm sure if my life went to hell and I experienced persistent deep suffering, maybe I'd want it to end. But that's not my situation.
  17. Your body would literally melt into a puddle of goo without tension. Educate yourself on biomechanics:
  18. Many misunderstandings about bodily tension here. What people need to grasp is that not all tension is bad tension. In fact, the vast majority of tension in your body is very necessary. Simplistic ideas like tension = ego are not going to cut it.
  19. Green / Yellow. Maybe some turquoise. Although it technically doesn’t have a value system. So spiral dynamics doesn’t quite fit.
  20. God = reality. I’m still not sure exactly how this relates to what we were discussing. Your position was that experience is relative and therefore not the absolute. My position was the opposite, saying your relative experience is in fact still the absolute. I am not claiming that experience is being created by some separate deity. I am not saying there isn’t flow. I am not strictly saying God is creating a human experience. It is obviously much deeper than that. I am saying God = reality = infinity = the absolute = limitless = Truth = consciousness = experience = void. These are just different aspects of God.
  21. In that case, I’d definitely shoot for increasing your income until you’re at least 250k a year. 1-2 million invested I think is also a good goal, but that will likely take longer.
