If you guys are doing a lot of the root lock (anus, perineum,pc muscles contractions) I recommend you balance that with some reverse kegels. (But as I haven't seen that recommendation in a yoga book yet, it's probably not totally necessary) Some months ago I was overdoing it and had to pause for some weeks because it was slightly injured. In case that happens to you, then pause the contractions for a while, do a lot of reverse kegels, stretch the perineum (if it is concerned), massage it, and get some warm/hot water on it when showering -

@Guillem12 what does running out of oxygen mean for you? Gamana says we should not force to hold in the air. If trying to keep your muscles relaxed (in order to longer hold the breath) feels totally healthy (for the lungs, etc..) then I guess you can keep holding the breath. In this case I would guess the anxiety is because your ego is under attack. So you can do it as far as you are comfortable. You say once the anxiety builds up you can't hold the breath anymore, why? But if the muscles contract because you actually should breathe then the anxiety is because of lack of oxygen and therefore you obviously should breathe -

Usually I do some kind of surrendering/being meditation and self inquiry and sometimes breath witnessing, contemplation and concentration The butts or the perineum? What purpose is clenching the butts supposed to have? I sometimes clench the anus and perineum muscles during pranayama inhalation, this makes the prana go up more easily and forcefully. But I always do it only during a few pranayamas and not the whole routine, as this could be to potent. -

The sushumna is located in the spine, so make sure that you are moving within the spine. If I remember right, the path roughly from the 2nd to the 3rd chakra in the picture with the chakras in J.C. Steven's book doesn't depict the actual curve of the spine, so google a picture of the spine to have the accurate curve. -

So you experience panic-like feelings like anxiety plus the chest pressure and lightheadedness? simultaneously and independently? Damage in terms of? I'd guess that you would automatically stop before you would damage yourself seriously. If you feel like slowing down but you keep doing then perhaps it could get tough psychologically/emotionally and if you can't handle it potentially result in light psychological damage. If your intuition tells you to do less pranayamas then do less, if you intuit you can do more then I would say - with my little understanding and expertise - that you are probably fine. Have you tried out shamanic breathing so far? It might be a good tool to confront the root of your anxiety/panick attacks (but would therefore be very tough also). -

@Shakazulu As you were lifted off bed, are you sure you were dreaming? It might have been an out of body experience. Many people report scary stuff when trying to astral project. -

I don't think that your mini risings are bad for your system, unless it feels like it, what you could be concerned about is a premature full kundalini awakening. If you feel like you are not yet prepared for a kundalini awakening and think that there is a good chance that it will awaken soon if you keep doing as you have then you could just stop doing supreme fire and work with the first 5 (or even 6) chakras instead. Read all you can find on (premature) kundalini awakening and then evaluate whether you can cope with it or are more comfortable to slow down. -

When I am very relaxed, like before falling asleep, I often feel an electric current going to my head. It runs so quickly that I actually only sense it in my head. It is very fierce but not painful. I think this has been for 2-3 months. in the beginning I was sure kundalini is just about to rise, and now it still hasen't risen. Do you do supreme fire or crown chakra focus? -

It is possible to take psychedelics in lucid dreams (dreams where you know you dream and therefore have control over it) (just materialize the psychedelic) and experience similar effects as taking them in real life, though most people report that they are not as powerful. But I think the potency of the psychedelic in the dream might depend on your level of lucidity which can be improved. Here are two links to forums where taking psychedelics in dreams is discussed: https://www.reddit.com/r/LucidDreaming/comments/68tk21/psychedelics_in_lucid_dreams/ https://www.dmt-nexus.me/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&t=8317 advantages of taking psychedelics in dreams: - legal - no costs - you can invent your own super-powerful substance - very safe: overdosis and tough energetic experiences have probably no effect on waking life. Except the psychological component. If you can't handle it psycologically, then this will probably transfer to real life - No effort to get the psychdelics - No risk that the psychedelics are impure - no tolerance build up, thus you can trip every night - less fear and anxiety and thus less resistance because it is "just" a dream - You can get familar with psychedelics this way before trying them in waking life. Especially helpful to help prepare for 5-meo-dmt and similarly powerful ones Disadvantages - The trips are much shorter, as dreams are shorter. But if you are an experienced lucid dreamer, you can probably have lucid dreams 1-2 hours every night. And dreams often feel longer as they really are. - Many people report that the trips are not as powerful. But enlightenment experiences in dreams can be more deep than in real life. If I remember right, Leo said in a video (I think it was the DPT video) that after a DPT trip he had a dream where he had his deepest awakening up to this point - you have to learn how to lucid dream - you have to rely on getting lucid in the dream - if you have never tripped before or never had an enlightenment experience through meditation, then it could be a bit challenging to create/imagine the enlightenment experience - If you are too excited about the trip, you might wake up prematurely. But if you are experienced, this can probably be prevented In conclusion: In my opinion this is a whole game changer. Lucid dreams may end up being the most or second most powerful tool for enlightenment. But they are no replacement for taking psychedelics in "real life" as they are probably more powerful and longer. I have only had two semi-lucid dreams for about 5 secs so far. Once I have real lucid dreams I will take psychedelics in them and report here. If you take psychedelics in dreams, you can share your report in a new thread or here, so we can gather the results. (I recently started a similar thread about lucid dreams and enlightenment in general, but I wanted to create a new thread for this topic in order to draw more attention to it, because I think it could make a big difference for many seekers. Here is the other thread, where we can discuss lucid dreams as a tool for enlightenment in general:

1) Khechari mudra is not necessary but is likely to very noticeably boost your practise. Your mind will probably calm down more, you might feel the prana more and you slowly loosen the knot at ajna. 2)Once you can do khechari mudra you keep the tongue in the nasal cavity during the whole practise (or as long as possible) -

That sounds cool Thanks. I'm gonna try to develop the lucid dreaming skill and then see how it goes. @herghly But I doubt that these monks materialize psychedelics and take them (while dreaming), or do they? Do you think that if they took psychedelics that they would have an effect? -

@kira Buy the yoga books on Leo's booklist. If you can't afford buying books, then get this online book : http://www.kriyayogainfo.net/Eng_Downloads1.html It is not as good as the ones on Leo's booklist but also very good -

Except for maha mudra all the kriyas involve no physical movement (excpet the bandhas, fingers for yoni mudra, tongue, eyes and head for the higher kriyas). Here is maha mudra: Maha mudra involves the bandhas too. I dont think it is necessary to be able to do a perfect leg stretch in case you are too unflexibel -

You put your focus on the 3rd eye and keep it there ALL the time. When inhaling, mentally chant om 6 times into the 3rd eye and while exhaling 6 times too. If you can, do khechari mudra, otherwise baby khechari. Aim for one-pointedness. -

Do you use your fingers? Try to twist your tongue with your fingers and then get it into the hollow space. just do this for some days (several times daily) and you should have it. -
GreenWoods replied to Justincredible76's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Justincredible76 completely surrender yourself to the task and you don't need discipline for it If you want to meditate for 2 hours but feel a lot of resistance because your lower self wants to do sth else, then surrender your lower self and your will, surrender the resistance and surrender completely to the meditation. No matter how demanding the meditation turns, it is no problem, because you have given yourself up, now it happens by itself and you don't need discipline. Because discipline is only needed if you do sth that goes against what you desire/will. Eliminating desire/will through surrender, you eliminate the need for discipline. The only problem is whether one can surrender that much... -
@Nivsch Try the Wim Hof method right after getting up (breathing exercise and cold shower (but not the breathing exercise while showering)). That's the breathing exercise: Read the second and third top comments (thoses which Wim Hof gave a like) I suppose you already watched Leo's letting go video?

So you have like 2 breaths a minute. perhaps that's not enough. Was it still comfortable or did you have to fight the urge to breathe? If you want to avoid passing out then just deacrese your inhalation and exhalation time -
Exactly, and we have to decide: So we have the choice whether we eat our neighbours or plants (or animals which are somewehre in the middle of the spectrum).
-
"Everything is a game" also justifies slaughtering your neighbour, yet most enlightened people don't do it, but some do eat meat. So how do they discriminate? They are aware of Oneness and feel massive love towards Creation. They embody this Love when dealing with people but not with animals. Why? If you want ro call one way a low conscious stage I would bet it's not being vegan. Eating meat seems more like denial and refusal of conscious frontation and cherry picking when and how to apply wisdom like " everything is a game".
-
But this can just as well be used to justify killing and eating your neighbour. Where is the difference between your neighbour and a cow? It's only a difference in degree and not in kind (right?). Animals are less conscious, so perhaps one might say that perhaps 10 cows equal 1 human? I don't judge them but I am really curious why some enlightened people eat meat. An argument I often hear is that it's the cycle of life (spider eats fly) and is a natural part of being human. But meat is no longer necessary for human survival. One would put one's desire for a better taste above the lives of animals, I fail to see how this is possible if one is conscious of Oneness. But if even Ramana ate meat, then I'm probably overlooking something?

How long did you hold your breath at bindu? And how long was your inhalation? Would you consider that positive or negative ? @TrynaBeTurquoise I have trouble feeling the cold sensation. I try to imagine/visualize/feel it. I don't think the cold sensation is already there. I believe it is linked to the breath (inhale). I try to reach and feel/activate it
