I assume it is quite rare to actually shift timelines. so you would be lucky to find some people here on the forum. But there are people who are very into reality / timeline shifiting out there. I'm sure they have forums too. There you will probably find people with similar experiences. Anyways, welcome in this timeline -

Measuring Brainwaves with the Muse S In this thread I made a few posts about my results from using the Muse S to measure my brainwaves. Here I pasted the main points from the different posts into one post. If someone is interested in the Muse S, the original posts are more detailed. - About the data: it's the average values of a couple of sessions: Consider the number as the strength of the particular brainwave. The higher the number, the more brainwaves in that frequency. When you measure your brainwaves you don't get a simple result as "10Hz". You always have some brainwaves of all frequencies "Baseline" is an average of: reading, watching youtube, thinking with eyes closed. It is difficult to determine your baseline levels because if you have your eyes open then that has an impact on your brainwaves. As well as any tiny movement or muscle contractions. My high delta baseline is undoubtedly due to that (because movement and muscle contractions has its most influnece on delta) I never had perfect signal accuracy. But I think it was somewhat ok. Except during sleep. There it was a mess. So that data might not be reliable. - Some findings from using the Muse S: the biggest difference between awake and sleep are lower gamma waves. Hence my emphasize on gamma and beta in my sleep yoga posts. Another big difference is an increase in delta. change in gamma always coincides with the same kind of change (increase or decrease) in beta change in alpha, theta and delta coincide. - I am doubtful of the accuracy of the data, because: My baseline brainwaves shouldn't be that similiar to the ones during trance (and meditation). And definitely not to those during light sleep, lol. (However, children's baseline brainwaves are similiar to those during their sleep. Even though sleep is a completely different state of consciousness. I'm confused. I think I don't understand brainwaves at all) I don't really see much difference in brainwaves when experimenting with different meditation techniques - Conclusion I don't think the data of the Muse S is accurate enough to continuously compare my sleep yoga practice with light sleep and draw conclusions about my progress. That is too impractical. Subjective experience seems to be all that is needed. If you are interested in measuring your brainwaves, then I recommend the Muse S. I guess the Muse products have the best benefit/price ratio. They are said to be quite accurate and are relatively cheap (I think I paid around $330 for the Muse S on amazon). But If you are purely interested in sleep yoga progress, doing the techniques is all what's needed. -

I forgot addressing sleep yoga in the previous posts. In case the data is actually accurate, the difference between my trance practice and light sleep was gamma, beta and delta. So if I wanted to achieve sleep yoga from trance, then I would need to increase delta during trance while keeping gamma and beta at roughly the same value (otherwise I would lose awareness). The focus would be on increasing delta (and theta probably too), but that approach takes way too long. I prefer the approach of working with sleep deprivation. Thus I basically already have the low brainwaves (delta and theta). Don't need to struggle to get them. They are automatically there. The only job is to remain conscious. What I wrote below "some findings" in the first post, had some value for sleep yoga. I don't think the data of the Muse is accurate enough to continuously compare my sleep yoga practice with light sleep and draw conclusions about my progress. That is far too impractical. And I also don't think I need any brainwave data, subjective experience seems to be all that is necessary. And I believe I'm close to a breakthrough. Therefore I currently don't really care about brainwave data. (On the previous posts: In case someone wonders how I got the brainwaves for the different sleep stages: I wore the Muse and my Fitbit at the same time) -

The image in the last post had shitty resolution quality. Here are the raw numbers. Now you should be able to see them: Consider the number as the strength of the particular brainwave. The higher the number, the more brainwaves im that frequency. When you measure your brainwaves you don't get a simple result as "10Hz". You always have some brainwaves of all frequencies. When people only mention for example "10Hz", thats a simplification. For simplifictaion, it could be considered the average (though I doubt that is true). -

That was the main reason why I bought it. I actually intended to make an extra post about it, but never got around doing it. Here you go: Here are the average values of a couple of sessions: image doesn't seem to have the best quality, sorry lol. I forgot to add the baseline waves at first. So I had to squeeze them in. I connected the dots with a line only so you can better see what are the same points. The connecting line has no actual meaning. Baseline is an average of: reading, watching youtube, thinking with eyes closed. It is difficult to determine your baseline levels because if you have your eyes open then that has an impact on your brainwaves. As well as any tiny movement. My high delta baseline is undoubtedly due to that (because movement has most influnece on delta) I never had perfect signal accuracy. But I think it was somewhat ok. Except during sleep. There it was a mess. So that data might not be reliable. I doubt these results. Because: My baseline brainwaves shouldn't be that similiar like during trance (and meditation). And definitely not like light sleep, lol. (However, children's baseline brainwaves are similiar to that during their sleep. Even though sleep is a completely different state of consciousness. I'm confused. I think I don't understand brainwaves at all) ,I don't really see a difference when experimenting with different meditation techniques. Not even thoughts vs no thoughts. Some findings: the biggest difference between awake and unconscious sleep are lower gamma waves. Hence my emphasize on gamma and beta in my sleep yoga posts. Another big difference is an increase in delta. change in gamma always coincides with the same kind of change (increase or decrease) in beta change in alpha, theta and delta coincide. All the data is from November. I haven't measured my brainwaves since. At first I was very enthusiastic about it but then I got bored. But there was an upgrade recently. Now it calculates your sleep stages as well. I guess I should try it soon. But there is also the issue with stableness. In order to get accurate results, whatever you do should be stable/constant for at least 10 minutes. Currently I have alarm clocks every minute. Pretty stable, lmao. Does anyone know some stuff about brainwaves? Do my results make any sense? Or are they bs? -

GreenWoods replied to Tovius's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@Tovius you spend 2 h each day dreaming without realizing it. How can you be sure you aren't dreaming right now? ???????????? Contemplate. Contemplate. Contemplate. Till you realize that you don't know. You might be dreaming right now. If you contemplate enough, it will eventually feel more and more like a dream. Or try comparing dream vs this reality. Except for differences in content, they are perfectly the same. Life is a dream. There is no metaphysical difference between a dream and your experience right now. Ever got lucid in a dream? Try to fake/replicate the sensation. -

@Vision I have the Muse S. It's good. But I'm not sure how reliable and exact it truly is. Though it is said to be pretty good. In any case, it gave me some valuable insights. You definitely should additionally get the app Mind Monitor. It gives you the different brainwaves. The Muse app has been useless for me. It compares your meditation session to the calibration which you do right before your meditation. Thus you can't really track your performance over time. The performance it shows is always relative to your calibration session. -

GreenWoods replied to meow_meow's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
@meow_meow yeah, I also can't really define it. I don't like defining stuff. It's so relative. But for practicality, I would say meditation has these main categories: non-dual mindfulness, presence concentration (active) letting go, surrender (passive) contemplation / inquiry trance Love, compassion visualizations (energy work) (There might be more, but that's all what comes to my mind right now. And there are of course all sorts of combinations.) Some of them can be integrated into your baseline continous every-day life. To some extend. In the first post you asked whether "everything is already meditation". That is the case if you define meditation as "being You". -

GreenWoods replied to Revolutionary Think's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
Practically speaking, there are infinitely many higher degrees/levels of consciousness. The end would be when your level of consciousness equals actual Infinite Consciousness. Which might be the case after mahasamadhi, but I'm not sure. Awakening is when you experientially know you are Infinite Consciousness, the end is purely being Infinite Consciousness. Which is somehting far more radical. Absolutely speaking, they are the same, and you are right now pure Infinite Consciousness, but relatively and practcially speaking, you are not. Relatively speaking, no matter how awake you are, it's still a finite consciousness, with finite phenomena. One drop within Infinity. As I said, absolutely speaking you are that Infinite Absolute Consciousness right now. When this is realized, many body-minds consider this the end. However, there are infinitely many degrees of depth of this realisation. It is not black and white. So there is no objective line. No objective point of when that is the case. So the 'point' when someone says to have reached the end is completely random. A mouse could say that just as well as Sadhguru. Or where do you draw a hard line between the two? There is none. So saying to have reached the end doesn't have much to do with actually having reached the end (imo) but rather is a random point of when this body-mind is satisfied with the current degree of realization. For the sake of practicality, we can somewhere create a line between a mouse and Sadhguru. And say that the mouse is not awake, while Sadhguru is awake. However, there are certainly advanced aliens out there who regard Sadhguru's degree of awakening in the exact same way as Sadhguru regards the degree of awakening of a mouse. -

GreenWoods replied to Vibroverse's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
I'm pretty sure @Vibroverse means "parallel realities" in a relative sense. Many (or infinitely many) imaginary worlds/universes 'within' Oneness. So it doesn't contradict Oneness. -

GreenWoods replied to meow_meow's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
That depends on how you define "meditation". It would require a narrow defintion. There are many different kinds of meditations, and many can be very valuable (from the relative perspective). -

Impermanence the Highest Truth? I don't think impermanence is true when describing God. Impermanence obviously applies for everything that happens in the game/world. But I wouldn't describe God in its Absolute Form/Essence impermanent but permanent. For impermanence to be possible there needs to be time. But the Godhead is not subject to time. Everything that ever happened or could ever happen exists now. Thus God is never changing. Only from the relative perspective, it seems like stuff is changing. -

GreenWoods replied to r0ckyreed's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
That comparison doesn't work. The relationship between software and hardware is completely different than the relationship between Consciousness and what you would call an external objective material reality. It does. When one says that a bullet is imaginary and then dies from a bullet, then that was not a failure of our spiritual truth. Absolute Truth is still Absolute Truth even when it fails to ensure practicality and survival. Practicality and survival are purely imaginary. They can only be conceived of when believing in an imaginary relative truth. Direct experience is proof. No logic or words will ever prove our claims. You need higher consciousness. Thats the only way. -
@Michal__ So you listen to his subs as well, awesome! Yeah I know. And listening for 19 hours is likely too much, making it counter productive. I knew that but couldn't resist LOL. Also, my goal during the past three weeks was not necessarily to get much practical results, but I primarily wanted to overwhelm my subconscious as much as possible in order to cause/force an intense general shift/change of my subconscious. And it seems to work. That's actually the most significant result I got so far, but it's a bit complicated to explain therefore I didn't list it in the first post. btw, I think his affirmation repeater is included in his ideal reality sub. Great advice!! There are many factors that determine success. LOA stuff (including beliefs) as well as consciousness are both big. The best results happen when combining subliminals with other methods.
 -
	I'm gonna link it here:)
 -
I fully identify with that You know of a more fun alternative?

I got into subliminals 3 weeks ago, and have been listening to them on average around 19 hours each day. Results so far: positive impact on my sleep yoga practice visualizations are more vivid I had caught a cold. I felt like I was going to get ill in the evening. My head was a bit hot. I slept. In the morning I had this typical feeling of being ill. But I didn't have very strong cold symptoms. I listened for 1 hour to health subliminals. Then I felt slightly better, then I slept 3 hours. And then I was basically almost back to normal. I never had such a quick recovery. I also had been having a small itchy rash on my hand for around 2 weeks. When I woke up from these 3 hours of sleep (after the 1 h of listening to the health subliminals) it was almost fully gone. (btw the health subs were from "Absolute Power Subliminals" and "Ataraxy") Deeper non-dual baseline consciousness (though that could easily be due to other stuff) meditations are deeper better dream recall During the first week I saw very faint DMT imagery in the dark. Similiar to those I saw on day 2 on my dark room retreat. I feel physically stronger Most results are subtle so far. But noticable. There are a lot of tricks to subliminals. Without them, results take a lot longer or don't manifest at all. I'm still gathering information and experience. I plan on making a more detailed post within the next weeks. My biggest tip, listen to "Absolute Power Subliminals ". That guy is an absolute legend. Listen to the improved version of the Concordia booster (and listen in wav, not mp3) It could well be the most powerful sublimal on earth : https://www.patreon.com/posts/extra-strength-41696554 The affirmations are repeated 1.8×e^4240 times per second. and he says " I made enough different pitches of the voices to attempt to replicate 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (1 septillion) different voices" such that the subconscious can tell apart the different layers. The mainstream understanding is that the subconscious can't process the affirmations when they are layered and sped up that much. Here is his answer to someone asking him about that: " https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/sensorium/201812/experiments-suggest-humans-can-directly-observe-the-quantum Experiments have shown that humans can possibly sense things on a quantum (super-small, generally pure vibrational or energetic) scale. If we can sense something, that means that it was processed by the subconscious mind meaning that the subconscious is capable of processing much more information than most people seem to realize. This would also contradict the commonly accepted belief that the subconscious is only capable of processing ~40 million pieces of information per second. Sound is formed by vibrations in the audible frequency range and vibrations are also energy. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, only transformed meaning that even with tons of layering and speeding the information carried by the sound isn't lost. The sound vibrations (and the information they carry) just get more and more compressed together. Subconscious reprogramming can also be called re-patterning. Re-patterning means that your subconscious patterns are being changed and this is done through repetition priming. The more you repeat the affirmations, the faster the subconscious patterns change which leads to changing your beliefs, thoughts, mindsets and everything else that makes you, you. This knowledge caused me to realize that affirmations can be sped up by a lot and still be effective, which is something I tested on myself for a while. I started feeling subliminals kick in faster the more times the affirmations were repeated. Subliminals don't normally kick in until the re-patterning is starting to happen which lead me to believe that the amount of repetitions per second directly correlates to the speed of re-patterning. Right now, I'm actually on a mission to figure out how many times the affirmations need to be repeated to make the subconscious fully re-pattern as quickly as possible. I've continued to speed and layer the Concordia booster after releasing it to the public and right now the version I'm using is at 4.4e3063 repetitions per second. It feels a lot stronger which means that I'm getting closer to figuring this out so I'm continuing to layer and speed further for as long as it takes to figure out exactly how many repetitions cause instant re-patterning. It won't be 100% accurate, of course, because the Concordia booster has over 1 million affirmations and subliminals with less affirmations probably won't need to be repeated as much but it will give me a general idea. I have a gut feeling that I'll only need to get the amount of repetitions to the X.Ye5000 range but the only way I'll know for sure is by testing that idea and it could take me a while to get there". Anyway, many people including me get results from these sped up subliminals. And I doubt very much that it's purely placebo.
 -
Why? Did you get no results?

GreenWoods replied to r0ckyreed's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
The external world, including other conscious people are real or not real to the same extend that your past is real or not real. From the perspective that your past never happened, the external world (including other people) isn't real. From the perspective that your past did happen, other people and their experience is real as well. If you believe that your past is more real than the experience of other people (in terms of direct experience), then contemplate, what is the difference between what you did 5 minutes ago and the experience of being Trump? There is no difference. Both imagination. You don't have direct experience of a past. You have direct experience of memories of a "past". Memories = imagination. If you want, you can imagine any random sensory experience of being Trump. This imagined sensory experience is metaphysically the same as memories of a sensory experience you had 5 minutes ago. The imagined sensory experience of Trump is not the same as his 'actual' experience, in terms of content. But it is equal in terms of its realness or substance. Seeing a horse in direct experience is no more metaphysically real than visualizing a unicorn in direct experience. However, practically speaking, the horse has more relevance/significance/meaning for this body-mind, so it is practical to treat the horse as more real than the unicorn. But it's not more real, just more relevant. Also, from the same perspective, what happened 5 seconds ago has the same degree of realness as what happened 5 years ago. And that which happened 5 years ago has the same realness as what happened in your last incarnation (which you would see if the amnesia veil were lifted. Which can happen if you go to an advanced psychic, or after death). Which has the same realness as your incarnation 1000000 years ago. Which has the same realness as any other incarnation of you (God). which has the same realness as being Trump. Thus, what you experienced 5 seconds ago has the same realness as Trump's actual sensory experience. -

Religious Approach - Tibetan Sleep Routines Tibetan buddhists have developed some methods which can make it easier. For example certain sleep positions, but for the most part, it's about visualizations. I don't practice these methods, but if you are interested, read "the tibetan yogas of dream and sleep" by Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche. - Help by Spirits Any spirit (but particularly ascended masters, deities and angels) can help you to develop the sleep yoga skill. How? by giving you advice by attracting the right circumstances that encourage/favour you developing the skill. (Similar to how some law of attraction manifestation works) by directly helping you develop that skill. If you are lucky, it can work similiar to how devotees can become enlightened by being in the presence of a very awake master. One explanation of how that works is: Everytime you are around people, there is some exchange of aura energy. Thats how you can empathically pick up someone's emotions. And thats why your state can change due to being around other people. This is usually insignificant (in terms of awakening) and only temporary but the aura of a master is far more itense, therefore you can get a permanent awakening by being in his presence. The same way that a master can directly cause you to get enlightened, a spirit can theoretically cause you to have the sleep yoga skill. Whether that works, depends on many factors. In most cases, it probably works but only very subtly, such that no big improvement is seen. Still worth a try. Which spirits can help for sleep yoga? Salgye Du Dalma. Worshipped by tibetan buddhists for sleep yoga. She is mentioned in detail (and how she can help.) In the above-mentioned book (I've seen the exact same text about her somewhere online as well (copied from the book). you should find it within 5 minutes. Just search for Salgye Du Dalma. There are not many webpages about her.) I'm pretty sure Buddha and Babaji both were/are conscious during sleep Hypnos, the greek god of sleep But really, I guess any spirit can help to some extend. Though the more the spirit is associated with sleep or alertness, the better. God. Praying to God How to contact and interact with the spirit? Just telepathically reach out to the spirit. Speak words loud, or use your thoughts, or your intention alone,... Every materialist will say you are BSing yourself and nothing more. But I am sure, you are actually telepathically connecting/communicating with spirits. The accuracy and intensity of the connection then depends on your intuition, psychic skills, focus,..... Though that's mostly about 'hearing' their response. The sending out part ( that the spirit 'hears' you) always works fine enough, I believe. Even if your telepathic skills are very weak. If you are into rituals, you can look up what the particular spiritual tradition has developed over the centuries to make contact more accurate and intense. Though I think the above mentioned simple approach can be enough (and I prefer it). And then you can just humbly ask for help and advice. Perhaps pray or chant if you like. But is not necessary. At least not when contacting ascended masters or angels. You can just communicate with them (I think Salgye Du Dalma can be included in that category). When contacting deities, most traditional people give something in return (for example food, water, devotion, singing, candle light,...). In the past, they even built actual temples. -
I have 3 ideas (to apply while lucid dreaming): 1. Materialize 5-me0-dmt and take it 2. kill yourself. ( Purpose: 1. overcome the fear of dying. and 2. having an enlightenment experience) 3. Doing self inquiry and contemplate Might they work? 1.Taking psychedelics while lucid dreaming might not change one's state of consciousness or it might require that you already had an enlightenment experience before (that your mind knows what to imagine). 2. It might not be possible to kill yourself while in a lucid dream because the bullet or knife might just pass through your body without harming you. If you do manage to die, then you probably wake up instead of becoming God. 3. That should work: Has anyone tried 1. or 2. in a lucid dream? Or has experience with lucid dreaming and might thus evaluate the probability whether they might work? If it might work then it would be worth the time needed to develop the lucid dreaming skill.

GreenWoods replied to GreenWoods's topic in Spirituality, Consciousness, Awakening, Mysticism, Meditation, God
FILD for Sleep Yoga When you are approaching sleep, the danger is very high that you just end up stop FILDing without you noticing it. Tips to remain conscious: - Counting You could mentally chant "FILD", in order to better keep your attention on doing FILD. But even better is if you mentally count. This engages your mind more. To make it more challenging you could count only every second number. Or count backwards from 100. Challenge yourself! You must count prefectly. If you get distracted, you must start counting from 0 again. After your sleep yoga session, write your highest number down. make it your challenge, a motivation, to beat that the next time. Additionally, count how often you turn off the alarm. Apart from it further engaging your mind, it also puts attention towards the alarm clocks. This makes it more likely that you will hear them if they ring after you fell asleep. And, if you know the time you started the practice, the time when you finished and the set snoozing time, you can calculate how many times the alarm rang. Thus you can check whether you noticed every alarm, or slept through some. - Alarm clocks If you don't listen to anything (music, binaural beats,..), then it's easier to wake up from the alarm. Because the contrast between "no alarm" and "alarm ringing " is higher. The binaural beats from Jody Hatton are quite silent, so they might be ok. Challenge yourself! Try to notice/register the alarm as quickly as possible. But before you are allowed to turn it off, you must quickly, but seriously reflect, "have I been fully conscious or was I asleep?????". You don't wanna know how often I basically was asleep, woke up, turned the alarm snooze, and went back to sleep wihout hesitation or any considerations. Sometimes literally every couple of minutes, the whole session. As though someone had removed my brain. Therfore, you must always reflect before snoozing the alarm!!!! If you notice that you are in zombie mode and have been unconscious, GET UP!!!! And continue later. Otherwise you are extremely likely to just fall unconscious again. no matter your determination. (This applies if you are sleep deprived. If you practice sleep yoga without being sleep deprived or just being very tired, then other rules apply. In that case, you might want exactly such a situation. From there, you might manage DEILDs. Or get to the void the DEILD way.) I wear headphones so neighbours don't hear the alarm clocks. So you need an alarm clock app that can play the alarm only through the headphones. There are many such apps. But few apps that have deailed setting options. For example for the snooze length. You also want it to have an easy way to make it snooze. I use "sleep as android". I can trigger snooze by pushing the volume regulator buttons on my phone. Thus I can turn it snooze with almost no movement involved (I keep my fingers on the volume regulator buttons). - Ideas for different Hand and Finger Variations You could do FILD with both hands at once. (Some time ago I heard a kriya yogi say that splitting your focus results in a different kind of concentration. an enhanced concentration. He recommended focusing on both hands at once while meditating in order to more easily enter a no-mind focused meditative state) You could do the index finger movement with one hand and the middle finger movement with the other hand. Alternating. Rather than moving 2 fingers to and fro as if playing a piano, lightly press your thumb and index finger together. Press, relax, press, relax..... same rhytm as with normal FILD. You can do that while holding your hand in the air. Hold your arm vertically up, supported by your ellbow on a surface (mattress, couch). I practice on my couch. I place the ellbow close to the edge in such a way that if I lose consciousness and my arm drops, it drops further, past the edge of the couch. thus there is more movement and it gets more momentum. Thus more likely it will wake you up. - FILD variations as Deepeners Do the "index finger press to thumb FILD" with both hands. Associate "mind awake" with one hand and "body asleep" with the other. You basically tell/programm your subconscious that every FILD movement with one hand results in you getting more alert, and withe the other hand results in your body getting sleepier, falling asleep. Now you have more control. When your body is too awake, do FILD with that hand, if you are too little alert, do FILD with the other hand. You can of course do both at once Just a 3 second decision of which hand means which (and sticking with it) will be enough for your subconscious to know which hand means which. But you can make it clearer if you want, by for example tying a yellow or orange or red cloth around the mind awake hand. And a blue or black around the body asleep hand. Or whatever color you would associate it with. Or just write awake or sleepy on your hand. you could also place the body asleep hand on your body, while placing the mind awake hand close to your head (I keep it in the air, supported by my ellbow on the surface, as described before). In the beginning, or when it seems good, couple the FILD movement with intention. Try to will your body into either asleep or mind awake. But most of the time, I recommend you completely leave it to the subconscious. Don't even think about it. But know that your subconscious is doing the job, even if you don't notice an immediate difference/effect in sleepiness or alertness. I regard FILD as the core, the other tools (from my previous posts) are mainly fine-tuning. -

@ucan99 Yes, when you do sleep yoga you can also have lucid dreams. In fact, all your dreams will be lucid. Sleep yoga is much more difficult than having lucid dreams. If you are serious, lucid dreams can be achieved relatively easily: Do 5-10+ very short WBTBs every night Do 300-600 quick reality checks every day spend 45 minutes trying to remember and journelling your dreams, every day Experiment with MILD and DEILD apply many minor tricks and tips After 2 weeks even a beginner should have many lucid dreams. Possibly, several every day. -

Progresss Update During the last weeks of 2020, I wasn't practicing every day. But during the past 4 weeks I was consistent. During the past 2 weeks I finally started making noticable progress. I think I've been fully conscious while my body was asleep several times. The longest was maybe around 1 minute. I wasn't in the void yet. I still perceived the body. But it felt very weird. and my state of consciousness was very different from normal trance. Difficulties - Difficulty1 I have had far less time to practice than envisioned because I sleep too little. The less you sleep (or rather the lesser your sleep need) the less time you are able to practice. Without sleep yoga I sleep 8-9 hours a day, but due to my particular sleep yoga schedule, I only slept around 3-4 hours on average during the past 4 weeks. Usually I have 90 minutes of deliberate sleep around midnight (for deep sleep) and then I do sleep yoga whenever I feel tired. As my practice is about only allowing my body to fall asleep if the mind remains awake, virtually the only sleep I get from that so far is when I fail and accidentally fall asleep. Now, the damn problem I'm facing is that I'm far less tired than I should be. Despite 3-4 hours of average sleep, Im hardly any more tired (at least during normal waking hours) than when I was having 8-9 hours. Which means only little opportunity to practice. 90 minutes are spent on deliberate sleep without sleep yoga practice. and then, the only reason I even get to 3-4 hours on average is beacuse of days where I accidentally oversleep and have 3-6 hours of sleep. I'm perplexed that I'm hardly tired. I guess the cause is: Strong intent to only sleep when I'm conscious during it. This leads to little sleep + My strong eagerness for sleep yoga. Which unfortunately seems to conjure up energy out of thin air, preventing me from being as tired as I should be. - Difficulty 2 One reason for oversleeping is that my alarm clocks are not always reliable. That is, they do ring, but I don't always wake up, despite using the most brutal alarm sound I could find. They would if I turned up the volume all the way, but I'm not gonna do that because of likely ear damage. - Difficulty 3 Other causes for oversleeping are unwise approach or technique and utter stupidity like not setting an alarm clock every time I sit down to mediate or contemplate. "Im just gonna sit down a brief moment, no way I'm gonna accidentally fall asleep." I will cover tipps and tricks in a future post.
