  1. I have semi-awareness of my separate self not total and I also underwent jaw surgery for an impacted wisdom tooth and I'm quite old, I was scared but it was literally nothing they gave me the anesthesia and less than one second later I woke up in the recovery room, no time passed for me at all and there was 0 pain.
  2. @alankrillin good point, I've been a vegetarian/sort of vegan for 28 years and my blood tests perfect, I take supplements and I make an effort to eat a variety of super healthy foods but I also eat a lot of cake and nachos on the side and that's not just blood tests for nutrients, my blood pressure is low, my cholesterol levels are great, my weight is great, and so on... that's my direct experience after eating 0 meats for almost 30 years plus I look super young, no one believes my real age
  3. thank you, I believe that is true, can't trust the body/brain, and applies to way more than just food...
  4. @DrewNows yes, that's another question that I've been having: what does "beyond the mind" mean? or how do you transcend the mind, and know that whatever it is isn't just another movement of the mind...?
  5. my point isn't that heroin and meat are the same, my point is that you can't always trust your body to tell you what is good or what is right...
  6. @How to be wise oh lol! never heard of her, I don't get out much...
  7. makes sense (I think) I am an appearance, everything is an appearance...weird - can't wait to know this more deeply, thank you
  8. no, your body is a liar, try smoking cigarettes for a couple of years then try quitting, your body will scream at you that it needs cigarettes...or heroin, or coke, or pills, or whatever else it's addicted to
  9. I don't eat meat because it's sad and mean to use animals that way, that is not appetizing I don't buy leather and I don't eat eggs I think vegan is the way to go and I admire vegans for what they do but I'm not totally vegan at all myself so I've been told animal products are in all kinds of things that you would never think of... I think it just boils down to we should all do as much as we possibly can to reduce suffering in the world, that's all we can do, no one can do more than they can do...
  10. it's beautiful but what is the experience of oneness when you are focusing on things that are "not you"? I understand I am not my thoughts, I am that which is aware of my thoughts and so on, but I don't get the "all of this is me", why is it all me when I am not this and not that...? thank you!
  11. many times I've reached for the phone to call my sister and just as I'm reaching it rings and it's her, she does the same thing to me we also used to call payphones and prank them when we were kids, one time we called one and I said "hi dad" I was going to pretend I was trying to call home but it was actually my dad who answered another time my sister and I had almost identical dreams on the same night
  12. can you change some things about my life by focusing really hard? I need money tee hee
  13. why do people say to do stuff like this and other people say there is nothing to do?
  14. I really like those words and I feel so close like I almost get it but I don't get it...like when you forget someone's name and it's just on the tip of your tongue and you know it's there but you can't remember
  15. just wondering... I thought when a person realizes oneness it would be with the whole world or the universe but it seems to be just what I can see, just the room if I'm inside or if I'm outside it's just as far as I can see what does that mean? suggestions? thank you!
  16. @Nahm hmm okay I will definitely try that, thank you! thanks again everyone
  17. @Nahm I was really wondering if what I think I experienced this morning was an actual expanded state of awareness or if I just imagined it sometimes it seems like things are not things including "me" the body but I don't experience a oneness with the whole universe just with things around me that I can see also I've watched a ton of videos now so I wonder how do I know that's a real experience or if I just think that now because a video said it would happen thank you
  18. thanks guys! so how do you know if you're having a direct experience or if you're just imagining something? by direct experience I mean realizing a truth and by imagining I mean having a wrong idea about something should I just keep going and see what happens or...?
  19. rupert spira said something that I like, he said to become interested in what the anger arises in
  20. rupert spira talks about this, he says that it does happen instantly but it's rare you hear stories about people who get it instantly and then have to sit on a park bench for a year to figure out what happened to them (eckhart tolle) but he says for many people it's gradual and can even be so gradual that when it does happen you just look up and calmly say "oh so that's what it is"
