If they are toxic then I can understand, but your post read more about moving away from connection generally "just in case" the connection proves toxic? If that's the case, then this tactic could fall under "avoidance" which has never worked for me before I can tell you that much! Avoidance of the anxiety provoking activity keeps the fear alive, but I can hardly preach about that myself! I mean unless your career depends on it, there is no essential or vital reason to use social media I guess. I don't think the world is a happier place since it arrived. People managed okay before. My concern would be any expectation you have that quitting social media will achieve something. I mean it might in terms of remaining disciplined and putting productive energy elsewhere, but I am not sure it will address the vulnerabilities or emotional state generally? Happy to be proved wrong... Obviously what you really hope for I imagine is to break the cycle. I see lots of similarities in us from your journal. This "all or nothing" stuff. Big decisions. Good point. They are still human at the end of the day. They are the same species as Hitler. Eckhart Tolle could have ton's of child pornography on his laptop for all we know. Enlightenment doesn't mean all human stupidity is completely gone.

A lot of people getting hooked on porn because they have a have a big hole in their life that they are not addressing. They then think getting on top of their porn consumption and fapping amount will somehow make them a new person. Porn is a convenient scapegoat. If you don't do things in moderation this is what happens. And if you have a true addiction then you better be 100% comitted to addressing it. Addiction and fear are closely linked. I've never met an addict who is not in some way absolutely riddled with fear and inner angst.

I think you are confusing survival and life with feelings. Have a look at this below and tell me it doesn't read a bit more accurate? It’s all about my feelings. Kobe benefitted my feelings.
